When the event started, the RAW theme music played and everybody stood up to see the
announcer and the ref come down to the ring. After an introduction by the announcer,
the National Anthem was played, and the action was ready to get underway.
1. Hurricane and Rosey w/ Super Stacy v. The Heart Throbs (WWE Tag Team Titles)
The Heart Throbs got a decent ovation, with many boos, while Hurricane, Rosey and
Stacey got one of the biggest ovations of the night. This match was good throughout
its duration, and it kept the fans excited. Almost like the matches seen on Raw in
past weeks.
WINNERS: Hurricane and Rosey
After the match, Coach comes down to the ring, and loud boos fill the Arena. He
announces the main matches for later in the evening - Shelton Benjamin v. Carlito,
and Edge v. HBK. He then announces the Diva match coming up next.
2. Victoria v. Christy Hemme
Both Divas come out to a good reaction, with Christy getting the bigger ovation. As
she is walking around the ring, Christy is attacked by Victoria and the match gets
underway. This match was filled with good moves, with Christy eventually getting the
win. After the match, Victoria attacked Christy halfway down the aisle, and when
both were in the ring, Viscera came down to save Christy. Coach tried to attack
Visc, but failed. Viscera proceeded to kiss Christy and they left together.
WINNER: Christy Hemme
3. Mike Mizanin and ??? v. TNT (Garrison Cade and Trevor Murdoch)
I don't remember who Miz's opponent was, but he was obviously filling in for
Capoletti (???). The match was descent, but I don't think alot of the people there
know who the two faces were.
WINNERS: Mizanin and ???
4. Val Venis v. Kerwin White
Val came out to a big pop, giving his towel to a little girl in the front row.
Kerwin followed, getting a good heel reaction out of the crowd. Val took Kerwin's
green sweater, blew his nose in it, and rubbed it on his butt. Good match overall,
though it seemed a bit repetitive.
WINNER: Kerwin White
Chris Masters comes out to a lot of heat, cutting a promo about the Masterlock
Challenge. He would challenge anyone in the crowd, and made fun of a few people in
the front rows. Big Show came out to one of the largest pops of the night, getting a
standing ovation from the crowd.
5. Chris Masters v. Big Show
The match starts when Big Show sits in the chair, but the Masterpiece runs away. Big
Show then drags him back into the ring and starts to beat on him. After failed
attempts to hurt Big Show, Masters has some help when Snitsky comes down to the ring
and beats on Show. Big Show then attacks the two heels, following up with a
chokeslam to Snitsky, then a chokeslam to Masters.
WINNER: Big Show by DQ
After the match, there was a 15 minute intermission. The lights dimmed, and the
action was to resume.
6. Shelton Benjamin v. Carlito (Intercontinental Title)
Shelton came out to a large pop, but not one of the best of the evening. Carlito
then came out and got a mix of boos and cheers (I was cheering). The match was one
of the best of the night, with a mix of maneuvers from both wrestlers that got the
crowd going. Carlito eventually countered one of Benjamin's moves, and got the 1-2-3
for the win.
WINNER: Carlito
7. Eugene v. Kurt Angle
Eugune comes out to a big pop, followed by Kurt Angle who got the usual "You Suck"
treatment. He asked Eugune where his medals were, and Eugune said that his mother
told him to leave them at home, and he put them on his dog, and he acted like a dog
around the ring. This match, personally, was not very appealing, but the funny
moment of it was when Eugune pulled down the back of Angle's shorts. Eugune hits the
Stone Cold Stunner, but Angle kicks out. He then does the People's Elbow, but
another two count. He proceeds to put Angle in the Angle Lock, but Angle reverses
it. Eugune escapes, and finishes off Angle with an Angle Slam.
WINNER: Eugene
NOTE: I saw Nick Dinsmore in the hallway near the lockerroom, and it was very weird
to see him sans character.
Main Event: Edge v. Shawn Michaels
Why this match took place I don't know - I'm guessing that Cena is still a bit hurt
from Jericho's camera shot on Raw the previous week. Edge came out to a mix of
cheers and boos, and Michaels got the biggest ovation of the night, doing his
trademark posing for each side of the ring. Halfway through the match, HBK tries
Sweet Chin Music, but his attempt failed. Edge then tried to hit the Spear on
Michaels, but he missed, knocking the referee out of the ring. While the ref was
down, Edge got his briefcase and attempted to strike HBK, but the Show-Stopper
followed it up with his Super Kick. Michaels gets the win, and afterwards he poses
for the fans and goes around ringside.
WINNER: HBK
Overall, the show was very good. The ring announcer thanked everybody who was in
attendance, and everybody proceeded to leave.
Report by: Enigmatic, rajah.com reader
Advertised for the show was John Cena vs Edge for the WWE title, and Kurt Angle vs
Shawn Michaels. Batista was said to be there onb the radio, but this was during the
draft when the announcement was made. I arrived at the arena a little late, and
found seats about five minutes later. The show started late as well. The arena was
about 85% full, but was highly active.
WWE Tag Team Championship match:
The Hurricane and Rosey against The Heart Throbs.
I missed the first 5 minutes because of what I said above. Was a decent match
though. The finish was when Rosey and Hurricane hit their tag team finisher on
Antonio, I think.
Coach came out next. Dissed the crowd pretty much, and plugged the Eugene/Angle
match, and then said how he's always with the divas, which was next. Justin Roberts
told us to please welcome, said nevermind, and just said the Coach. Coach got in his
face and threatened to fire him, since he wa in charge for the night.
Women's match:
Victoria vs Christy Hemme.
Was okay, Christy blew a couple of spots. When she countered the a Dragon Sleeper,
she messed up climbing the turnbuckle to flip out. Christy won after a DDT and a leg
drop, where she landed on Victoria's head, while doing a split. After, Victoria
attacked Hemme and did the Widow's Peak. Coach provoked Hemme some. Viscera came
out, and Victoria pushed Coach into him. He did his Samoan drop and then his humping
thing. Crowd loved it. Coach got major heat.
Tag Team Match:
Mike Mizanan (Spelling?) and Chris Cade against Lance Cade and Trevor. I didn't
catch his last name.
Mizanan got a huge pop, because he was from Youngstown. Lance Cade's team had some
cowboy image. Lots of "Go back to Texas" chants. Major heat on them two. The finsh
was Mizanan was held at ringside by Cade, and Trevor pinned Chris after a
Clothesline. Mizanan got a pop as he went backstage.
Singles Match:
Val Venis vs Kerwin White.
Venis came out, huge pop. Gave his towel to a 5 year old girl. Kerwin came out, and
is announcing from Panama City. He took Kerwin's sweater and blew his nose in it,
and whiped his ass. Some classical/oldies music hit, noone knew who it was until the
ring announcer announced it was Kerwin White. Had some wooden hanger with him as
well. Lots of Chavo chants as he was coming out. He got on the mic and said we were
all stupid, and that he was now Kerwin White, the average middle-class citizen.
Chavo exposed the turnbuckle. Venis did the famous 10-count punches on the
turnbukcle, and dropped Venis's head on it (Snake Eyes). Rolled him up for the win,
grabbing the tights and the ropes. (What I found funny was when the Ref was counting
the 3, his hand went up high enough to hit Kerwin's elbow, causing him to lose grip
on the ropes.) Venis got an ovation after.
Masterlock Challenge.
Chris Masters came out and flamed Younsgtown as usual. Someone yelled that the Key
to the Masterlock was to "kick him in the nuts". Show came out, got a huge pop.
Masters got his way out of it, and a default match started. Show won by DQ when
Snitsky came in. (The crowd were chanting SNitsky as he was coming out.) Snitsky
hit Show in the back w/ a chair, he got up and Chokeslammed them both. After, Show
shook hands with people. He has a hell of a grip, and is huge in real life.
Intercontinental Championship Match:
Carlito Carribean Cool vs Shelton Benjamin. Actually a fair shair of Carlito chants.
About 7 minutes in, Carlito used the ropes to retain. Nothing real fancy. This took
forever to get started, Carlito took his shirt off, Benjamin took it, blew his nose
in it and whiped his arm pits with it. He teased for about 3 minutes of throwing it
in the crowd, and finally did.
The ring Announcer (Justin Roberts?) and some other guy shot 5 shirts into the
crowd. They were the "WWE Superstars" T-shirt. After was a 15 minute intermission.
Normal Match:
Kurt Angle vs Eugene
HUGE pop for them both. Angle started to ask where his Gold Medals were, cause he
didn't have them. Euegen said his mom told him to keep them at home because he might
lose them. Eugene then said he gives them to his dog to walk around with. He then
immitated a dog. Angle started the match stiff. Angle kicked out of the Rock Bottom,
the Stunner, the Angle Slam, the Poeple's Elbow, and escaped the Ankle Lock. During
a roll-up, Eugene pulled ANgle's pants all the way down, and won with a roll up.
Afterwards, Angle raised his arms up, shook his hand, and then low blowed him and
left. During the match, when Kurt Angle kicked out, the count was so close, the
entire side by the entrance way went over there to do whatever, and ended up being
laughed at by the other side of the arena.
Before the Main Event, they plugged Summerslam, and said they want to come back to
Youngstown in the near future. In another 1½ years? Anyway...
Main Event:
Edge vs Shawn Michaels.
Surprisingly, they both got major pops. Was an exciting match, about PPV quality.
Finish was when Chidoa was knocked out, Edge grabbed his breifcase, went to hit
Michaels, he ducked, and when Edge turned around, got Sweet Chin Music'd into the
breifcase, and it hit him in the head. Both "You Screwed Matt" and "You Screwed
Bret" chants. I left after that, as they dismissed us.
Was a good Show. There were disappointments about no Matt, Kane, Cena, Jericho and
other top superstars.
Largest Pops:
Edge and Shawn Michaels were tied.
Eugene and Angle, every time Eugene hit a top finisher, or Angle kicked out.
And... Mike Mizanan, he was the hometown boy.
Stacy's Entrance and when she left.
Biggest Booos:
Kerwin White.
The Coach.
Chris Masters.
Lance Cade and Trevor, cowboys aren't really liked here... no idea why.
