Crowd was about 2/3 full in a 4000-seat arena. Heat wave in Ontario and the announcement of a John Cena no-show killed the crowd for many of the matches.

Chris Cage and Mike Mizanin def. The Highlanders by pinfall. Crowd was almost dead for the entire match. Typical tag team cheating by the heels was foiled by the hot tag. Cage sold his beating very well, it’s just too bad Viscera and Big Show weren’t watching.

Rob Conway def. Viscera by pinfall. Maria was the guest ring announcer, just in case her two fans are reading this. Viscera did his usual comedy spots, including the Visagra. Conway worked over Big Vis’ left knee most of the match, but I think the guy finally fell over because he was blown up. The end came when the Conman used the ropes for leverage on a pin.

Carlito def. Shelton Benjamin by pinfall. Benjamin came up to a nice pop from the crowd, while Carlito had a very mixed reaction. For some reason Carlito didn’t get to cut a promo, which is weird because even Shelton cut a promo here last November. Cowardly Carlito left the ring several times to get heat. He almost got counted out, but returned to ring after the crowd started counting him out along with the ref. Shelton looked great in the match and didn’t botch one spot, so we think the stuff on Raw might be a work. Benjamin missed a stinger splash at the end, allowing Carlito to roll him up with a handful of tights.

Chris Masters def. René Dupree by submission. Amazingly, Chris Masters got loud cheers during his entrance and the match, as he played to the fans (how does this make sense?). The Masterpiece wrestled a decent match, which came to a predictable end as the Masterlock K.O.ed René. Dupree pulled out the French tickler to the delight of the crowd, but was jeered for both his flamboyance and French heritage.

Rosey and the Hurricane (w/ Stacy Keibler) def. jobbers. Keibler got a huge pop and a loud Stacy chant throughout the arena. The Hurricane played face in peril as Rosey stupidly distracted the referee. After Rosey got the hot tag, he trashed the heels and dropped Hurricane (hello, he was just trashed for a good five minutes!) onto the guy for the pin. The heels beat down the champs after the match. Yeah…that makes the tag team champions look real strong.

20-minute intermission

Highlight Reel w/ Chris Jericho and Trish Stratus

Y2J came up to nice pop, although there were lots of Cena chants from some parts of the crowd. Jericho played the nice guy during the segment. He claimed his Highlight Reel set didn’t make it across the border. Stratus got a nice ovation when her music hit, but quickly turned on the crowd by saying that Toronto is the only important place around here. Jericho put her in the Walls of Jericho just as Gene Snitsky came out for the save.

Chris Jericho def. Gene Snitsky by submission. Impromptu match started. Crowd was quiet considering that Jericho was wrestling. A heinous distraction by Trish made sure the ref couldn’t count the pin after Jericho hit a Lionsault, so he spanked her. She sold her ass and took a bump from a bumbling Snitsky. Y2J quickly forced his opponent to tap from the Walls of Jericho. Crowd blamed Snitsky for his loss, yelling “It was your fault.”

Kurt Angle def. Eugene by submission. Crowd went nuts for Eugene and chanted the required “You Suck” for Angle’s entrance. Angle asked Eugene where his medals were, and started pounding him after he said he left them at home. The match was good but short. One angle lock was reversed by Eugene, who almost won after hulking up and hitting the Rock Bottom. Angle kicked out at two-and-a-half, hit the Angle Slam, and made Eugene tap with the Angle Lock. Limping out, Eugene left to cheers.

Main Event: Big Show def. Edge. This was a very disappointing match. Lita and Matt Hardy were nowhere to be found. Big Show mocked Edge repeatedly during the match, which some of the fans loved. Workrate in this match was horrible; we think Edge was trying though. Spear in corner by Edge barely hurt Show. The finish came when Edge missed a briefcase shot and Show chokeslammed him for the win. Edge laid unconscious in the middle of the ring, then attempted to lift his shoulder well after the Big Show had left. Cute spot.

Overall, not the greatest house show we’ve attended. We didn’t expect Flair or HHH, but no Cena or Michaels stunk. Way to show up at the small cities, Michaels, you hypocrite. Minus the intermission, the show barely lasted an hour and forty-five minutes. Guess the workers wanted to leave quickly.

Biggest Pops

1. Stacy Keibler
2. Big Show
3. Chris Masters (seriously)
4. Eugene

Biggest Heat

1. Announcement that Cena would not show
2. René Dupree
3. Kurt Angle
4. Trish Stratus (after she insulted the crowd)

Before the show started, it was announced that, due to a scheduling
conflict, John Cena was not able to appear. Many demanded thier money back.

1-The Miz and Chris Cage def. The Highlanders after Miz pinned Rory (I
think). Not a bad match. I was surprised to see The Highlanders (I'm a fan
of them), a nice little treat for me. Good opener.

2-Rob Conway pinned Viscera. This was almost the exact same match as they
put on on RAW. Not horrible, but not good either.

3-Intercontinental Championship: Carlito pinned Shelton Benjamin. Match of
the night. Carlito got a nice pop from the crowd, both competitiors were
treated as faces. Very good. Shelton got a standing O after the match.

4-Chris Masters made Rene Dupree tap out. Masters was OVER in this match. He
got a lot of fan support, and Dupree got on the mic and dissed fans to get
him a bit of heat. Masterlock was locked on for the win.

During intermission, Chris Jericho came out to a huge pop from the fans. He
welcomed us to "Kingston is Jericho", and a very special Highlight Reel
featuring Trish Stratus. Trish got a HUGE pop entering, but that turned to
heat when she said Toronto was 10 times better than Kingston. Trish
eventually tried to slap Trish after Jericho called her a "dirty,
disgusting, bottom-feeding trash bag ho", but Jericho took her slaps, then
went for the Walls of Jericho. Enter Snitsky.

5-Chris Jericho made Gene Snitsky tap out. Good match. Finish saw Jericho
lock the Walls on Snitsky. After the match, my buddies started chanting
"it's all your fault" to Snitsky, who covered his ears. Awwww.

6-Kurt Angle made Eugene tap out. This was disappointing. It was a good
match, but WAY too short. It was approximately 5 minutes. I should note that
after the show, Eugene was still limping (Angle locked on the Angle Lock
with a grapevine for the submission victory)...I'm unsure if he was just
selling it or not, but he was not in the Eugene character leaving the arena.

7-World Tag Team Championship: The Hurricane and Rosey (with Stacy Keibler)
def. Lance Cade and someone else who's name currently escapes me...something
Rhodes. I remember he bought the rights to use the surname from Dusty, but
his 1st name escapes me. Anyway, he got pinned by Hurricane in the end. Not
a bad match.

8-Big Show pinned Edge. Again, huge pops for the Show, and huge heat for
Edge (although I marked for him...I'm an Edgehead, I'm all alone!). Show got
the pin after the Chokeslam. Edge sold Show's offense like it killed him,
and Edge's offense Show sold like...well, like Show usually sells moves.
Anyway, after he got pinned, Edge layed there for like 3 minutes, then
kicked out. Funny stuff. As he left, I chanted for a 5-second pose, which he
gave me in the form of a middle finger.

Overall, worth the $50 I plopped down for ringside tickets.

Biggest Pops:

3-Chris Masters
2-Trish Stratus
1-Chris Jericho

Most Heat:

3-Conway (post-match...everyone was silent for his entrance...that's gonna
become a trend, mark my words.)
2-Gene Snitsky
1-Edge
