What You Didn't See On RAW Last Night

Big thanks to reader Ian Ogier for sending in these live news items from last night's WWE RAW taping from Manchester, UK: -Charlie Haas came out in the Roddy Piper gimmick this week and surprisingly pinned Snitsky in the dark match of the evening within about 5 minutes. Tony Chimel then announced that we would be taping ECW in a few minutes. Todd Grisham was surprisingly cheered quite loudly during his entrance, while Matt Striker was booed. I will include the ECW spoilers below for those of you who haven't read them yet. -Lots and lots of WrestleMania commercials tonight, and other WWE promo stuff, during all the commercial breaks and after ECW whilst they changed the ring aprons over and what not for RAW, which took about 25-30 minutes. Michael Cole was booed during his entrance, big cheers for Jerry Lawler - unsurprisingly. -The building was legitimately full (about 16,000) with no areas blocked off. I'm not sure how it came across on television but we were very loud during certain parts of the show, particularly Regal's title win and the entire main event. Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho received a long standing ovation after the main event following RAW from our block of the building. -The people I was talking to during the show were very vocal about the lack of violence in the Rey vs. Kane match! -After the main event, Chris Jericho left the arena and Shawn Michaels stood up in the ring. As they played HBK's music and he began receiving an ovation from the fans, JBL's music hit, as he came out to take advantage of an injured Michaels with a steel chair. Michaels popped out of the corner with the sweet chin music to blast the chair back in his face, leaving HBK posing in the ring and shaking hands with fans going up the ramp. The fans left the building to the sounds of "Sexy boy"... nice ending to the show. -They showed a load of Mick Foley footage during one of the commercials on the Titantron, which generated a small TNA chant ... I really do wonder why they'd show so much Foley when he's part of TNA now. Then again, that's WWE I guess. * HUGE Spoiler On CHRISTIAN CAGE's TNA Future - Leaving For WWE?! |
