It is not yet known at this time the reason behind the release of Christy Hemme other than the fact that it caught many people off guard.

Hemme was getting ready to relocate to Louisville, Kentucky to begin shooting an angle with Ohio Valley Wrestling and was also scheduled last week to travel to New Zealand with Batista for promotion. That trip however was cancelled. Hemme recieved word of her release this morning according to sources. She won 250,000 with the Diva Search Contest a year ago and had also posed in Playboy in conjunction with WrestleMania 21.

It is somewhat of a surprise to many as WWE had promoted Hemme very hard over the past year and she had a backstage reputation of someone who wanted to work hard and learn.

There was no backstage talk last night at the Smackdown! tapings that Hemme would be released, so as mentioned earlier this has come as quite a shock to many in the company.
