NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver, Night One Quick Recap

Matches Tonight: 6
  • On our Pre-Show, Zoey Stark defeated Toni Storm. Fair-ish match.
  • Our first match of the main card saw Pete Dunne defeat Kushida in an incredibly technical and very good match showcasing their skillsets brilliantly.
  • Our second match was the Gauntlet Eliminator to determine who would face Johnny Gargano tomorrow night for the North American Championship. Leon Ruff and Isaiah "Swerve" Scott started. Ruff was eliminated first, Dexter Lumis second, then LA Knight, followed by Cameron Grimes with Swerve being the final elmination. Bronson Reed will face Gargano tomorrow.
  • In a very brutal, and incredibly good match, NXT UK Champion WALTER defeated Tommaso Ciampa. WALTER was left with welts and blisters and a bloody chest after the brutal battle.
  • In a high-octane, four-star match that featured several incredibly impressive high spots, MSK defeated the Grizzled Young Veterans and Legado del Fantasma to become the new NXT Tag Team Champions.
  • In our Night One main event for the NXT Women's Championship, Raquel González defeated Io Shirai to become the new NXT Women's Champion. Yet another great match.
Miscellaneous Non-Match Segments of Note:
  • Franky Monet will make her NXT debut next Wednesday.
  • The Night Two card, as announced before our main event: Bronson Reed will face Johnny Gargano for the North American Championship; Shotzi Blackheart & Ember Moon defend their NXT Women's Tag Team Champion against The Way; Jordan Devlin will face Santos Escobar in a Cruiserweight Unification match; Finn Bálor defends against Karrion Kross; and in the main event, Kyle O'Reilly takes on Adam Cole in an Unsanctioned Match. Also...Poppy (who's that?) will be performing live.

If you didn't see Night One but enjoy NXT, this is a must-see. The matches were great, many of them quite brutal. Oh and if you watch it on the Peacock Network (same for tomorrow night), there's NO commercials. When USA Network goes to commercial, Peacock just keeps the match going full screen.
