rajah.com Mailbag, Edition #13
-By Grandpa, Kayfabe and Rajah

Alright, I have re-opened the Mailbag section with the help of two individuals, Kayfabe and Grandpa. Hopefully, it will work out better this time, as the above individuals will handle the great BULK of the emails.

Here are the steps to take if you like your question answered in the Mailbag section:

1. Please check to see that your question(s) have not been answered on any other sections of the page. Take great note of the FAQ Part I and FAQ Part II.
2. Send a legibly written question or comment to Rajah_WWF@Hotmail.Com. Please try to keep it short, since if it is too long, it will be prone to editting.
3. ALL email sent there may potentially be included in the Mailbag. If you do not want your response posted, do NOT send it there!
4. If a name is included, I will post it along with the email. If you do not want your name published, do NOT write it!
5. Remember, it is impossible that every email I receive get posted on this page. Only the best and most popular questions/comments will likely make it on.
6. Also remember, that questions will be answered by either Kayfabe or Grandpa, so any personal remarks should be addressed accordingly. The following color scheme will be used:

Rajah - GREEN
Grandpa - RED
Kayfabe - YELLOW

IMPORTANT!!!
If you have anything to add to any of these questions/comments or even my remarks, please email me. I'm not claiming that all my info is correct, as I'm sure that some of it is inaccurate as well. PLEASE READ THE DIRECTIONS ABOVE AND NOTE THE CHANGE IN THE EMAIL ADDRESS!!!

Hey Rajah...
Great site, but I have one thing that I was wondering. Back in 1996 when Sunny went to join the Smoking Gunns the Body Donnas got a replacement named Claudie. She was only their for about a month(From King of the Ring to International Incident). I was wondering if you could give me the true identitie of Claudie, and if she is still in the wrestling business.
Thanks

I think you are referring to the "valet" Cloudy, which was an obvious counterpart to Sunny in the WWF. Cloudy was not really a female, but rather a guy whose name escapes me. Next time I speak with Tammy and/or Chris Candido, I will ask them for "his" identity.

I love your site, keep up the good work. I'm not sure about this but the Undertaker says he lives in Death Valley, Ca but a friend of mine says that she knows a wrestler that wrestles in house shows. He says that the Undertaker lives in Maryland. Is that true? Please put this in the mailbag.
Thanks!

I'm sorry, but I have no idea where the Undertaker actually resides. I can definitely say that it is NOT Death Valley. That's just for gimmick purposes.

Hey guys, great site. I have a few questions.
1) I perfectly know that wrestling is fake but I have heard that the Rock is so good at acting (always embarassing someone) because he is really like that. Is the Rock a real jackass in real life or is he actually a nice person?
2) As far as you know have Eric Biscoff and Vince McMahon ever meet face to face?" If they did what happened.
Thanks for your time in answering my quetions.

1)There was a time a few months ago, when cries from the locker-room indicated that many wrestlers had ill feelings towards The Rock. But not because he was "making fun of people" but rather that he was starting to act cocky in light of all the success showered upon him at such an early age. However, as of late, I haven't heard anything that suggests he is a real-life jackass. On a related note, I met the Rock on only one occasion and found him to be neither rude nor outgoing. He was just the usual entertainment figure, who was rather indifferent to everything around him.
2)Yeah, I'm sure they have. Eric Bischoff once came to the WWF in search of a commentating position before he "made it big" with WCW. He was rejected if you didn't figure it out or know.

is the hardcore belt just the old wwf title chopped up?

Yes, it is. I think it's decorated a bit too, but it's not a "new" title by any means.

Hey guys, great site.i have some questions:
1)what are the ages of these guys?
a)jericho

c)kane
d)christian
e)undertaker
f)bad ass
g)road dog
2)i watched a vcd of royal rumble '98 and there was this guy who came in at no.3.who is this guy and wat happened to him now?
3)since x-pac is not involved in tag team action anymore, who will he be feuding with and will he turn heel?a feud with edge would be great
Thanx a lot.pleeaaaase post this in your mailbag.

These are only guesses:
1)28
b)25
c)33
d)29
e)37
f)32
g)34

2)The guy you're talking about is Tom Brandi (shoutout to the best damn Burger out there), who was released from his contract shortly after signing a five-year deal. He got no pop whatsoever during his "push" and was thus released.
3)For now, it appears that Kane and X-Pac are back together again, but a heel turn has been hinted at a lot in the past and could definitely go down sometime in the future.

hey guys,
I was just wondering if there is any news out on ticket information for the year 2000 Wrestlemania in Anaheim? I could sure use your insight as to what the process will be to obtain tickets. I appreciate you taking the time to answer my question.
Thank you,

All that I know is that tickets will likely be going on sale during the Smackdown tapings to be held in Anaheim on November 30. I'm not sure how they will work it, but I'm guessing you will be able to get a priority for your seats and the tickets would be sent via mail at a later date. Again, I'm not totally sure, but it would be accurate to say that if you want to go to Wrestlemania, you better be at Smackdown on 11/30.

Hey Raj, Kayfabe, and Gramps
Hows it going a Big Hi and an AUSsieTIN 3:16 from all the WWF fans from Austalia, i love your site a regulary check up up on all the results etc. Just a few questions i have been wondering about and hopefully you can shed some light onto them

1- Have there ever been any Australian Wrestlers in the WWF?
2- What ever happened to?
a)Zeus- a big black guy who wrestled Hogan a few times
b)Tugboat (Typhoon)- Big Fat Guy
c)Mr Fuji- Manager
d)Akeem the African Dream- Another Fat Guy
e)Ricky Steamboat
f)Hillbilly Jim
3- Is the WWF ever going to come to Australia, if so when?
4- What was Andre the Giants Finishing Move
5- Who could i write to in regards to Question 3
6- Can you put this in the mailbag
Cheers, thanks for your time

1)I think Bill Dundee from the 70s may be the only one.
2a)Zeus is technically an actor by the name of "Tiny" Lister and his wrestling involvement was virtually just a one-shot gig with the WWF after "No Holds Barred" came out. He is not involved in wrestling in any way.
b)Tugboat/Typhoon is still in the wrestling business and wrestles in various independent cards across the country. There were rumors that he passed away, but that is not true.
c)Mr. Fuji works in a theatre now somewhere in the United States. He is retired from wrestling and is in the process of suing Nintendo (I believe) after they used his character in a WCW video game.
d)Akeem is still wrestling. He was competing in ECW very recently and also received a tryout with the WWF about a year ago, which did not go too well. Akeem has lost over 100lbs since we last saw him in the WWF.
e)Retired, runs gyms in North Carolina.
f)He is still with the WWF in an off-camera role. Hillbilly is WWF 4 Life!
3)Yeah, I'm sure they will eventually. And when they do, it is inevitable that it would be for either a huge RAW or a PPV.
4)I don't think it had a trademarked name but it was forward suplex that ended up in a splash. Sort of like the beginning of the Pedigree where you grab your opponents arms over his back and then Andre would just sort of throw him across the ring and land on him.
5)You can Email the WWF at: click here
6)You got it!

Hey man! long time reader first time writer
My question is after reading a story on your newsboard about an in depth look at Eric Bishoff. It refers to the Pillman angle, as well it says he worked his angles stemming from the creativity of Pillman. What I am wondering is what is this "Pillman" angle ?

I hate to do this, but I have absolutely no idea. The way I look at it, this is my lack of WCW knowledge shining through.

Hey raj, grandpa and kayfabe, i have a quick question, my cousin told me that there was already a autobiography on stone cold, and he told me this last year and he also claims that he read it. is this true because i have been trying to find it for a while, and any news on the biographies on scsa and mankind on a&e about their air dates? thanx

To the best of my knowledge, there is no Steve Austin auto-biography yet released.

Trish Stratus, although courted by both the WWF and WCW, never signed with either and as of now, it appears that she will not be entering the wrestling world.

Hi,
First off, great site.
I was wondering if you could make out the words to the RAW is WAR theme song? Me and my friends have downloaded the .wav file and played it over and over and over and none of us can agree as to what the words are. Thanks,

I've asked tons of people and no one knows the lyrics to the RAW is WAR theme. I guess if any of you readers know or have a clue, drop us a line.

Hey Guys, I wrote in last week and I didnt get posted and now that I think about it I'm glad I didnt, I commented on the Road Dogg's drug use and wondering how he is getting away with it. Well the last few weeks shown he hasent gotten away with it. Two questions:

1) Was it the pot that got him suspended or was there more serious stuff that we dont know about?
2) X-Pac is always yelling about his oponents ass is grass and hes gonna smoke it. Does this mean that he will be encouraged to stop saying this or will he be suspended if he continues? I know this isnt WCW and their not high (no punn intended) on the family crap, but talking about a 'fatsack' and so on isnt exactly doing much for their image. Thoughts?

1)The WWF claims that Road Dogg was away recording some music for an upcoming venture. A lot of others in the business say he was granted time off to deal with this drug problems. I don't think it was stuff more serious than the pot because if it was, he'd be out for longer and possibly be de-pushed for his efforts.
2)I think he will be discourgaed a little, but nothing to the point where the WWF will frown upon it if he did utter it out. It's sort of become his catch phrase, and the WWF is more concerned about marketting its stars than they are being a family product.

hi, id just first like to say how much i appreciate what rajah and you have all done. ive been a local sitegoer since it opened 2 yrs ago and i want u to know that its helped enhance my appreciation of the sport. my question is this:
who is this white wolf company and why does it have the rights to the name "gangrel"? i see this before the beginning of WWF attitude on N64 and in WWF magazine the first time his name is used in every issue.

White Wolf Inc. is the company that created the Gangrel vampire character in a comic book, novels, games and cards. Hence, they own all rights to that name and the WWF must credit them when using it in all their media outlets. I think their most prolific entity is the White Wolf role-playing game Vampire: The Masquerade. "Gangrel" is one of the roles in the game.

hey guys. great site. two questions for ya.
1) what was the deal when the new age outlaws pushed mick foley and terry funk off the stage in the garbage can? Was that supposed to happen and why did the wwf waste their raw by cleaning that mess up? They wasted an hour of raw and it looked like all the wrestlers were mad at the new age outlaws. i even remember sunny crying.
2) What was the deal with hawk acting as a drunk and falling off the titantron. Was this legit and where was the wwf trying to go with this cause it obviously failed.
Thanks for listening and please post these cause these are baffling me

1)It was all a work. And they probably did all that because it was about the time when the WWF was running really dry on storylines, angles and matches. I have no other explanation, other than possibly trying to get the Outlaws over bigtime as heels. I guess now that I think about it, the latter scenario makes the most sense.
2)Hawk apparently had a drinking problem and the WWF chose to use that to start an angle. What you saw on TV was an angle based on a real life situation, but as you said, it failed miserably.

hey rajah, grandpa and kayfabe yo dis has got 2 b da best site there iz.itz so accurate.well anyways i hav a few questions that i would really like 2 hav put on the next mailbag
1.hogan and ut fought twice and each won once please tell me how each cheated to win.
2.y was bret hart not considered a grand slam champion cuz during his time before the euro belt he had won all of them.
please put this on the next mailbag thanx

1) Well, at Survivor Series 1991 in Detroit, Michigan, the undefeated Undertaker took on WWF Champion Hulk Hogan in a match billed as "The Gravest Challenge". "The Real World's Champion" Ric Flair came down to ringside during the match, and slid a chair under the bottom rope into the ring. With the ref's back turned, the Undertaker proceeded to Tombstone Hogan onto the chair. He got the 1-2-3, and became World Wrestling Federation Heavyweight Champion. Six days later, the WWF held a special one time only pay per view in San Antonio, Texas entitled "Tuesday In Texas". President Jack Tunney ordered that a rematch take place in Texas, so it did. In the return match, The Undertaker grabbed his urn, planning to attack Hogan, but the Hulkster was too quick. He grabbed the urn away, and emptied out the contents. Hogan took a handful of ashes and threw them into the eyes of the Undertaker. With the Phenom temporarily blinded, Hogan was able to roll him up for the pin and become four time WWF Champion.
2) Bret won the Triple Crown because he won all three belts during his time in the WWF. Only when a fourth title was added, did the feat of winning all the championships become known as the Grand Slam. They are both baseball terms. The Triple Crown is associated with the number three (in baseball, to win the triple crown you must lead the league in all of the three major offensive categories- Batting Average, Home Runs, and RBI's) and a Grand Slam, of course, is related with the number four (in baseball, four runs score on a Grand Slam).

Hey, I was just wondering who writes the Rock's catch phrases. Does he come up with all those clever things or does the WWF? I don't really know too much about UFC, so I wanted to know is the fighting there real or is it scripted like wrestling on T.V.

The Rock writes a lot of his own material. Occasionally, he'll talk it over with someone from backstage, but for the most part the sayings that you hear him rattle off are his own.
The UFC is the not fake. It's all shoot fighting. It's as real as it can get.

what up guys, I got a semi wrestling related question which if it is true would be really cool. Anyway, my sister told me that he was watching MTV one time and they were interveiwing the performer "Kid Rock" and they asked him how he got his name. He replied that he was a HUGE fan of the most electrfying man in sports entertainment, The Rock, and he somehow got the Rock's private telephone # and called him to say that he was his biggest fan! And The Rock at first was mad, but later said thanks and called him "kid" Rock hence Kid Rock. Do you know if this is true or is my sister full of sh*t? She swears she saw it!
keep up the great work

I would think your sister is just having a little fun with you.

Hey Rajah, Kayfabe, and Grampa,
Reading an email in the last mailbag sparked a question in my grey matter. It's about the somewhat old and, as far as I know, not well-known angle involving the Undertaker and the fabled Embalmer. This Paul Wight - Undertaker alliance has me wondering....... Are we watching as the Embalmer is created before our very eyes? Do you think that Undertaker is going to turn The Big Show into the Embalmer in some weird ritual? Truthfully, I'm hoping not, and I think that the this Undertaker - Big Show alliance will end with Paul Wight turning on the Undertaker and destroying him at an upcoming PPV, allowing him to take a good long absence, a la the aftermath of his match with Yokozuna (when was that?).
Anyway - I enjoy the site! Cheers

Now that is an interesting theory to say the least. There was talk back around the time of the Higher Power angle that the greater power would end up being the Embalmer. Pretty exciting stuff... then we found out it was Vince. But, you're theory is a good one. If I remember correctly, as the story goes, the Embalmer was 7'0, 500 lbs. Sounds like the Big Show to me. However, it looks like the WWF is kind of doing away with this Undertaker/Big Show alliance. The Undertaker is getting some time off, and The Big Show has gone back on his own.
The Undertaker/Yokozuna Casket Match was at the 1994 Royal Rumble. Speaking of which...

From: Hwoarang
Dear whoever,
3 questions for ya,
1)How did Lex Luger and Bret Hart plan them both landing at the same time onto the mat at the 1994 Royal Rumble?
2)Why did Bret take time off after losing the title to HBK at Wrestlemania in the Iron Man match?
3)What's this about Road Dogg bad-mouthing Bret Hart in a newspaper?
Thx

1) Gotta love that segway. Luger and Hart are great athletes and experienced wrestlers. They probably practiced the stunt before hand so they could perfect it. Gotta give credit to them. They pulled it off nicely.
2) Sometimes a guy needs a break. The WWF granted him some time off. It was right after he had lost the title, and the biggest PPV of the year (Wrestlemania) had just ended. It was a convenient time for him to get a well deserved rest.
3) Road Dogg apparently said something to the affect that Bret Hart had a bad attitude. Evidently, they recently came across each other in an airport, and the Road Dogg denied saying anything negative about the Hitman.

Hi guys! Great site!
I was hoping you could help me understand how the WWF system works in terms of who makes it on TV. Every time I read updates from house shows people rave about how good the Hardy Boyz' match was. Yet they either never make it on TV at all, or lose very quickly. Come to think of it, even in the house shows they seem to lose most of the time. If their matches are so exciting, why not show them on TV more often?

There's a lot of talent in the WWF, and only so much TV time to go around. With all the good tag teams in the WWF, the Hardyz don't seem to get a lot of television time these days. They'll probably get into a good angle soon enough. Once they start up a feud, they'll get more TV time.

Great site, I check it out around 2 times a day. It'll be a sad day w/ you graduate. (Hey ever thought about going to grad. school???)
Anyways, here are my questions:
1) Why hasn't X-Pac appeared recently on RAW or Smackdown? I don't think he's injured b/c he has appeared on house shows. Just curious, I'm not a big X-Pac fan, I'm just curious.
2) I know why Vince had to disappear from the TV shows, b/c the company is going public. So how exactly did he get around that rule?
3) Is Taz coming to the WWF? if so, got an estimated time of arrival?
4) How is the relationship between the WWF and ECW? Do they still have a decent working relationship, w/ the WWF taking the Dudleys, Steve Richards, (and possibly Taz).
Thanks...

1) He was used sparingly for awhile, but he seems to be back now. They simply didn't have an angle for him to get into prior to Unforgiven.
2)No, that's not the reason. I know I said this before somewhere but I guess since you didn't catch it, I'll repeat myself. If a company goes public, the owner is allowed to appear on his program, granted that he/she not do anything that will increase the monetary value of his/her company. Hence, he is allowed on TV. His absence had nothing to do with the WWF going public.
3) Should be appearing around January 2000. December would be the earliest to expect him.
4) Yep, they still have their one common denominator. They both hate WCW.

What's goin on rajah.
Anywayz I thought id go ahead and ask a Question.
Back in May of 96 when hbk was champ , he was fueding with British Bulldog. Bulldog and his wife diana made claims that hbk tried to seduce diana. All this went on and Jim cornette bulldogs manager at the time called shawn a homewrecker and a bad person and all this crap. Later a few weeks about there was a video clip released on raw. It was a different woman sayin that shawn wrecked her and her husbands marriage. YOu coldnt see her face because it was purposely made dark. Do you have any idea who this woman was?
thanks Rajah. love the site

Just an actress they stuck in front of the camera. No one from WWF storylines. It wasn't supposed to be a character in the WWF, it was just there to further the angle that Shawn had an apparent history of becoming involved with married women.

1) Was Val Venis ever actually a porn star ?
2)Do you think that the Bossman will ever go back to his old ways with the blue shirt.
3)Are the Spanish anouncers out there just to have their table smashed or are they for real ?
One more thing. I know some people that that were vacationing in Florida and they were staying a few houses down from Hulk Hogan. They said that every day he would jog down the street wearing nothing but a neon green speedo. BARF!

1) No. And while we're at it, the Godfather isn't a pimp.
2) Not likely, although the WWF has teased a face turn for the Bossmna on more than one occasion. They've played his old music, and it's actually gotten a pretty good crowd reaction, but the old "good cop" Bossman gimmick is probably dead. Apparently, that's one of those old "intelligence-insulting" gimmicks.
3) No, they're for real.
Barf indeed.

From:From: Nick,
I would like to get this off my chest, I think that Kabeface is an IDIOT! On one eddition of the mailbag he said that;
1. Pepper is realy dead!
2. So is DX! (Please tell me they're not!)
3.No former wold title holder has gone for a lower ranked belt, cough...( HBK Euro)!
4.He said that you went out with Sunny( I'm not sure if that's true, but I doubt it. P.S No offence! )

Well Enough abot that Roody-Poo Candy @$$ on with some Questions
1.I remember when the Blue Blazer first came back to the WWF Owen, Jarret, and the blazer were once all seen at the same time, Who was under the mask?
2. Do you think that The Undertaker will ever go back to his old gimmik?
3.Last time I wrote I asked if you could give me an In-depth answer to Austins real name. I guess I was just lazy when I wrote. What I meant was, Did he legaly change it? Why did he change it?, Stuff like that.
P.S. Kick @$$ site!!!!!!

1) I'm the idiot? Someone doesn't understand sarcasm...
2) Yes, I said DX was dead. For the time being, they are. When's the last time you saw a RAW start with DX coming out doing one of their skits? We can't keep living in the past, now can we? Besides, damn near every single edition of the Mailbag I've been asked about the future of DX. Time and time again, I've said that a number of things are possible, and that nobody knows for sure what will happen to DX. Also, if you've read past Mailbags, you'll see me state that "I don't think DX will ever be gone for good." Yet, the same exact question keeps coming in week after week. I finally snap and tell everyone they're dead (in hopes that they'd maybe stop asking the same damn question again and again), and now I'm getting slaughtered. Here's the thing: both the readers, and the Mailbag guys get pissed at repetative questions.
3) That was merely an oversight on my part, and I apologized. Morales and Michaels have each won lower singles titles after winning the WWF Title. Still, my point is a valid one. It has only happened twice in history, so I doubt the Rock and Austin will go for the European Title.
4) See my response to #1. And who is Kabeface?

1)That remains one of life's secrets, along with the caramilk chocolate secret. How does the caramel get inside a caramilk bar? It could have been Tom Pritchard, who was involved with the duo.
2) Probably not. Another one of those old "intelligent-insulting" gimmicks of the past. Now I don't know about you, but I'd rather have my intelligence insulted with the old Undertaker, than watch him parade around like a biker.
3) He changed it from Steve Williams to Steve Austin because when he broke into the business, there was already an established wrestler by the name of ("Dr. Death") Steve Williams. So, he changed his last name to Austin to try to create his own identity. You know what? I think it might have worked.

Hey - love your site and i wanted to share this with you.
Ever since i read the smackdown spoilers i've been thinking about this and i wanted to run it by you. On thursday night the NAO took the tag titles, and on sunday night HHH can be become the Heavyweight champ and Chyna the IC champ. Well, what if each win their respective fights? Is it so far fetched to expect a DX re-union on raw the next night? Remember:
a) There were rumors the WWF would regroup DX to form DX 2000 after Sumerslam
b) DX was originally supposed to be a heel group
c) Outside of Xpac, every new and old DX man would be happy - HHH, Chyna, and NAO all have belts, and HBK has gotten his belt back from SCSA in the best way he could. Then consider this. DX was one of the main reasons the WWF was able to re-establish itself. It helped make the current WWF. Well, lately, as we all, know, the WWF has had some problems. The buy-rate for sumerslam was lower than expected and ratings have begun to fall. What did they do? Brought SCSA and Vince Mcmahon back - their 2 biggest stars. Now, they bring back DX, one of their top money makers and once again they are on top with tons of new material and story lines (solving the 5 hrs of big tv time). It may be far fetched but it would be amazing, and well, would make us all more anxious in anticapation of smackdown (higher ratings).

Good theory, but it hasn't happened yet. Granted, the future of DX is up in the air. And anything can happen in the WWF. As I've said in the past (except for that one recent occasion which I apparently will never hear the end of), I don't think we've seen the last of DX.

From: Paul M
Hi Guys,
Just thought I'd break the monotony of Bret Hart/Kane/Clique questions with something more varied.
1)Who do you think were/are the five most under-rated wrestlers in recent WWF history. My list would be 1: Owen Hart (R.I.P.) 2: Jacques Rougeau 3: Rad Radford (also, R.I.P.) 4: Hakushi 5: Jeff Jarrett. I think that they all would have made excellent main eventers/ high mid-carders if given the right direction.
2)Also, if you were Vince McMahon, and had the current roster at your disposal, who would be your champions? Mine would be WWF Champion: Triple H, Intercontinental Champ: Jeff Jarrett, European Champion: Gangrel, Hardcore Champ: Bob Holly, Tag Champs: The Hardys, Light Heavyweight Champ: (Hopefully) Chris Daniels.
Thanks for your time

Thank you.
1) I have long believed that Owen Hart is one of the most underrated wrestlers of all time. I agree with you about Jarrett, and Rougeau. Two excellent wrestlers, and I still believe we might get to see Jarrett get his push. Hakushi and Radford weren't with the WWF long, but were each good wrestlers. Hakushi could really fly. You want an underrated wrestler? Here's a name I'll throw out there: Marty Jannetty.
2) I'd have lots of guys contending for the titles. WWF Champion: HHH, British Bulldog, Rock, etc. You know- the normal main eventers. Intercontinental Champion: Jeff Jarrett, Billy Gunn, Chris Jericho, Test, X-Pac. European Champion: D'Lo Brown, Gangrel, Big Bossman, Val Venis, Godfather, Stevie Richards. Hardcore: Al Snow, Mick Foley, Blue Meanie. Tag Champions: The Hardyz, Too Cool, Edge & Christian, The Acolytes, Mideon & Viscera. I'd do away with the lightweight belt. That division only detracts from the Tag division, and to me, it's not worth it.

I've got a few questions for ya:
1:Are Debra's puppies 'real' or silicone implanted. My mate says they are too big to be real!
2:When British Bulldog and Owen Hart were a team, were they faces or heels? I thought they were heels, but on two videos I have (IYH Buried Alive & IYH It's Time) the fans are cheering for them.
3. Do you agree with me that Austin's a crap wrestler. He only has 2 moves (Stunner, Thez Press).
4. Who won more matches against each other, Mankind or Undertaker?
5. What in your view is the best gimmick match? I think Buried Alive.
Cheers.

1) Let's just say the puppies have had some work done.
2) They were heels, but some heels have fans. I know Owen and the Bulldog have always been favorites of mine. It's possible you were watching events held in Canada, in which case I could see why Owen would be cheered.
3) He used to be a terrific technical wrestler, but Stone Cold seems to resort only to brawling. I hate it; I'd rather see a good wrestling match.
4) As far as Pay Per Views go, the Undertaker is 4-2 vs. Mankind.
5) I kind of like Ladder matches. Casket matches used to be awesome, but now we don't really get to see them anymore because of Buried Alive and Hell in a Cell Matches. I'd have to say I like Ladder Matches the most, but in general when any gimmick match is overused, it detracts from the event.

From: J
Hey Raj,
Really love the site! Must be nice to hear that for once, huh? :-) One comment, 7 questions.
1) First off, I kinda object to you calling Test the number one Canadian WWF star, with Edge and Val Venis as other possibilities. Judging by pop alone, I'm going to have to go with my hometown boy, Chris Jericho.
2) Is it just me, or is the hardest working person in the WWF actually Michael Cole? He's on every show they have, he has one or two of his own, and all he gets for his trouble are wedgies and Rock-lashings. I say he should get a shot at the European Belt. Hell, if he talked nice to the Godfather, he might get it, too.
3) Do you guys let your real-life friends and co-workers know that you're internet gods, or do you keep secret identities, kind of like Batman?
4) How come when Triple H hit Foley with a sledgehammer no one looked twice, but when I do it, he files for a restraining order?
5) When Stone Cold went on the Conan O'Brien show, he read a poem by Jewel to the audience. I was just wondering if there are any plans to have him perform at Test and Stephanie's ceremony.
6) Perhaps the most memorable match of all time was the title match between Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant, where Andre jobbed to the Hulkster. This was a classic because the two most loved and skilled wrestlers of the time gave the audience exactly what they wanted: a chance to see exactly who was the best man in the WWF. Are there any plans for a similar match between Stone Cold and Joey Abs?
7) The Rock says he writes all his own material, but I think I heard a song once that sounded just like "Smackdown Hotel". You know, that theme from "Spaceballs".
8) If I wrote in a short comedy essay every Tuesday about the week in wrestling, would that count as a column, or would my cat just explode or something?
-Thanks!

P.S. It's F-E-U-D. Not F-U-E-D. It drives me crazy every time someone writes in like that. I don't know why. I saw that on Family Fued. Um, Family Feud. There. And then I looked it up.

P.P.S. In an effort to boost ratings, Nitro instituted the Nitro Girls. Well, guys, I think it's come time for the Nitro-ass-naked-gun-shooting-3D-animated-pyrotechnics-enhanced-building-smashing-celebrity-kicking-spaceship-flying Nitro: Warrior Dancers.

1) Yeah, I think Jericho is a great talent. But so is Test. They both have a ton of potential.
2) Michael Cole is underrated. I think he does very good work. He's improved as an announcer, and has become a great interviewer. Nobody takes abuse from the Rock like he does, that's for sure. A European Title Reign? Now come on, J. That's a bit unrealistic, don't you think? I think he'd be much more suited for a Tag Title run with Terry Taylor.
3) I like Batman.
4) Funny how some things work, huh?
5) Now that would be quite the site. Stone Cold Steve Austin has become pretty sensitive as of late.
6) My friend, it is in the works as we speak. That is the heavily rumored main event for Wrestlemania XVI
7) You are too much, J.
8) I wouldn't risk it, but feel free to write back in anytime.

Note: For those of you, that couldn't tell, the preceeding comments were heavily laced with sarcasm.

At tonight's Unforgiven, there was a mention made of Road Dogg's being a second-generation WWF superstar --
1)who was the D-O-Double-G's padre?
2)Or was his mommy someone like Moolah and Mae Young, who seem to be being pushed extraordinarily for such fossils? Just a few thoughts...

1)"Bullet" Bob Armstrong
2)I thought Moolah looked fabulous, as always ;-) (what a babe, not in the league of Jana, but still a babe!).

Hey great site,
I visit at least five times a day. I've heard a rumor that the WWF is going to be bringing in a new character- Test's kid sister, Skyler. I heard that she would be extremely young, about 16, 17, and would sort of be like extra support for Test, Stephanie, and even Shane, now that the Posse has turned on him. I was told that she would be a co-ed wrestler, like Chyna is doing now, and that she would be more of an arial wrestler, like X-Pac and Christian. The WWF is apparently doing this in order to give women's wrestling a bigger push. I was just wondering how true you think this rumor is. Personally, I think that this wouldn't be a bad way to go. She could hang out with Stephanie, and make the save whenever her big brother, or brother-in-law (Shane) needed it. Please put this in the mailbag, cause I'd really like to know what the deal is with this storyline.

I have heard nothing to this affect. However, I seriously doubt someone that age will ever gain a stay in the WWF. I also question, how many women the WWF needs to compete in the promotion against men. We have one to many low blow instigators as it is! I would much rather see the WWF create a competitive Women's division.

A little while ago, the Posse wresteled Brisco and Patterson. The rules were that the loser had to leave the WWF forever. The Posse left for a little while, and then came back. What's up with that? P.S. You got a whoop-ass site.

Believe me, this isn't the first time this has happened. Now in my day, the departed wrestlers came back using a mask to hide their true identity; and we liked it!

Under what name did Berlyn wrestle under. Was it Alex Wright like most are guessing?

You're correct, it is Alex Wright.

Hey guys,
love the mailbag......
My question has to do with Rena Mero. I was watching the Sci-Fi channel monday night after Raw and they played one of their promos of celebs who engage in a short clip of Sci-Fi related material then they say the words "I am Sc-Fi" and their name is displayed under it. Anyway, Rena came on one of those clips and was playing a 100 ft. tall bimbo throwing around cars and whatnot. Afterwards, she said the "I am Sci-Fi" bit and then the name Sable appeared on the screen. I know that WWF owns the rights to the name Sable, but do they have a deal with the Sci-Fi channel like they did with Playboy when Mero posed for the second time, or did the WWF and Sci-Fi channel have a deal before the whole Sable lawsuit thing? Do you think WWF will take legal action on this if the Sci-Fi channel is using the name Sable without permission?
Thanks alot guys, keep up the good work.

I haven't heard of any deals struck to allow Rena to legally use the name "Sable." I wouldn't be surprised to see another lawsuit filed regarding this issue.

Do you think that Gangrel has a title in his future? It seems the WWF has forgotten about him. What do you think his role will be in upcoming years?

I don't know if I would say they have forgotten about him, definitely lost in the shuffle, though. I really don't see Gangrel capturing any magor singles titles, maybe a tag-team run in the future. Anything is possible in sports entertainment.

You once stated that the Undertaker might need hip replacement surgery and that would pretty much end his career. If this is true they should write him off TV and go forward with the surgery and see if it is a success. If it is not they could get another Undertaker much younger and go back to his old gimick and music. If he needs to retire I think that it can open big doors for a younger more athletic Undertaker that can put on more entertaining matches, respectfully. If the surgery goes well and he can come back he can take the time off and go back to his old gimick. Either way he should go forward with the surgery and it would be a win/win oppurtunity for the WWF. What do u think about the situation.
PS: One other thing what do u think about the MSG incident...............Just kidding

Even if the Untertaker under goes successful hip replacement, which he's supposedly in need of, there is no way he will ever be the same! Once a person has major surgery, i.e. joint relacement (and I don't mean the joint replacement as in when the cops steal your stash, WEIRZO! This will teach him to read the mailbag! ~LOL~), that person will NEVER be able to take the bumps and falls they used to be able to take. This is what ended Roddy Piper's glorious career. I had several complaint Emails the last time I answered this; I'm not bashing the Undertaker, unfortunately, his career will never be the same again. Getting old SUCKS!

First off, Raj, I have to say that your site is, above all, the best out there. I've seen a bunch of newsboard sites, but your's has a personal touch unseen on the others. Oh, and Gramps and Kayfabe are fabulous mailbag men. Anyway, on to the questions. I'll try and take it easy this time around.
1. My biggest question is where D-Generation X disappeared to. We all saw X-Pac and The Road Dogg win that tag match at Fully Loaded to "retain the rights to D-Generation X" over Chyna and Mr. Ass, but after that, the stable dried up and the two seemed to go off in singles direction, with X-Pac leaving Kane just recently. What's up with that?
2. Also on the DX front, we know that the colors (like those of my school) are green and black, yet X-Pac has been coming out in orange and black DX gear lately, but retaining the green pyros. What's going on?
3. Why was it that Fully Loaded drew the worst buyrates? When I saw the card, I recognized it as one of the BEST cards of the year. Much better than SummerSlam, IMO. There was only a couple bad matches on Fully Loaded (the opening one and the hardcore one, IMO), but all the angles were good. How can it be that such a good setup got such a bad turnout?
4. Speaking of PPVs, the Unforgiven card looks HORRIBLE. D'Lo Brown gets pushed back down to the European Title, CHYNA is going after the I-C belt (biggest mistake the WWF has EVER made), and we are going to see yet ANOTHER Al Snow-Bossman war for the Hardcore Title, oh and Ivory is still trying to get the Women's division over in a match against a woman whom she has no heat with on-screen. And only a couple other matches have been announced: Dudleys vs. The Acolytes, Shamrock vs. Y2J, and the big Six Pack match. All in all, it looks pretty sad. The only saving grace, IMO, is the fact that Unforgiven is The Undertaker's PPV (like Fully Loaded is HHH's, No Mercy is "Stone Cold's", and Backlash is Mick's), which makes the chances of him walking out the champion very good indeed. However, that brings up the question of who will be fighting for the Tag Belts, if the Tag Champs are in the Main Event and Edge and Christian (who stand not a chance) are the #1 Contenders. I've heard rumors of Mideon and Vis cera picking up the titles: do you see Taker and Big Show handing them over without a match?
5. Why is Chyna being pushed so much? She is NOT a great athlete, despite anyone's claims to the contrary. She is a buff woman who lands decent nutshots (which are illegal). She is a horrible wrestler (on par with "Stone Cold" and X-Pac in actual technical skill), with her only moves being a DDT and some backflip kick she does. There are so many other stars in the WWF that deserve a shot and a reign as I-C champion. She doesn't even deserve a shot, period! I say put her in her gender's division. They want to revamp it anyway. Here's the angle: who can beat Chyna for the Women's Title? Her only competition is, IMO, Jacqueline. And if she doesn't want to work the Women's Division, fire her ass! It's not like she is the most popular character anyway. Everybody hates her. And if HHH doesn't like it, send him on his merry way too. He was a useless WWF Champion and is the most-hated man in the WWF right now. With his technical skill (on par with The Rock's), you'd think he'd be a hell of a lot more v ictorious in straight matches without having to cheat. I think it is sorry that a man of his skill has to be forced to cheat in order to beat anybody but Gillberg.
6. What happened to "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's ring skills? All he does is brawl, now.
7. Why did the WWF put The Hardy Boyz (best team ever, btw) in with Gangrel? They suck as The New Brood. The old The Brood wasn't even that spectacular. Former tag champs, they are now jobbing to everybody, including the Hollys of all people.
8. Why are The Acolytes still The Acolytes- there's no more Ministry!
9. Who will replace Shamrock as the WWF's resident submissions fighter when he leaves for a year? Blackman does more martial arts than submission-style. Whatever happened to Steve's finisher, btw, The Guillotine?
10. Why doesn't The Big Bossman (who is a 3 time Hardcore champion, btw, the most of anybody) do The Bossman Slam anymore? Oh, and how do you spell The Big Bossman? Like that or like this: The Big Boss Man?
Thanks a bunch. Please put this in the mailbag if at all possible.

1)I would suspect in time, DX will return.
2)Changing colors = more revenue from merchandise sales. This is why SCSA has a new t-shirt design weekly!
3)Everyone has a different opinion as to what's good and what isn't. With all the current PPV's, sooner or later, ratings will suffer.
4)I agree, the Unforgiven PPV was boring, as usual, I fell asleep during the broadcast :-(. I don't see TBS or the UT, just handing over the belts. Even if the UT can't partake in the event.
5)I still can't believe the push Chyna is receiving! In my not so humble opinion, she is a waste of airtime. There are so many WWF stars that deserve pushes ahead of her. Low blow after low blow, gets real old after awhile.
6)It looks like the majority of fans don't care, they still worship SCSA. Just another example of talent meaning squat!
7)It's difficult to find a spot / stable for everyone, I'm sure this scenario is only temporary.
8)Probably, because they don't have a current angle for them.
9)For now, maybe Blackman.
10)I dunno, maybe an injury is preventing him from executing that move.

If you look during the Nation Of Domination match against LOD, Ahmed and Shamrock, the Rock is tagged in by D Lo. The Rock is somehow thrown outside but then Shamrock slaps the ankle lock submission on D Lo forcing him to tap out. That eliminates D Lo but The Rock was the legal man. Was this supposed to happen or was it an accident?
Thanks,

Very few things that happen in the ring are a shoot or are improvised, I'm sure this was scheduled.
