rajah.com Mailbag
-By Grandpa, Kayfabe and Rajah

Alright, I have re-opened the Mailbag section with the help of two individuals, Kayfabe and Grandpa. Hopefully, it will work out better this time, as the above individuals will handle the great BULK of the emails.

Here are the steps to take if you like your question answered in the Mailbag section:

1. Please check to see that your question(s) have not been answered on any other sections of the page. Take great note of the FAQ Part I and FAQ Part II.
2. Send a legibly written question or comment to Rajah_WWF@Hotmail.Com. Please try to keep it short, since if it is too long, it will be prone to editting.
3. ALL email sent there may potentially be included in the Mailbag. If you do not want your response posted, do NOT send it there!
4. If a name is included, I will post it along with the email. If you do not want your name published, do NOT write it!
5. Remember, it is impossible that every email I receive get posted on this page. Only the best and most popular questions/comments will likely make it on.
6. Also remember, that questions will be answered by either Kayfabe or Grandpa, so any personal remarks should be addressed accordingly. The following color scheme will be used:

Rajah - GREEN
Grandpa - RED
Kayfabe - YELLOW

IMPORTANT!!!
If you have anything to add to any of these questions/comments or even my remarks, please email me. I'm not claiming that all my info is correct, as I'm sure that some of it is inaccurate as well. PLEASE READ THE DIRECTIONS ABOVE AND NOTE THE CHANGE IN THE EMAIL ADDRESS!!!

The WWF and WCW are big here in the U.S. Are there any other big time wrestling promotions on the level of the Big Two around the world?
Thanx.

There are numerous promotions, just to mention a few: ECW, Memphis Power Pro, NWA, AWA, All Pro Championship, Stampede, All Pro Japan, New Japan, High Risk Championship, Florida Championship, etc..

Hey Rajah...
I have a question that i hope you can answer.
I remember about 3 years ago, Diamond Dallas Paige was at an all time low, as an angle of course, and he was on the streets as a hasbeen.. then out of nowhere a limousine picked him up, and after that he showed up at the wcw version of the king of the ring and won the whole thing, and has been on a tear ever since.. my question is, why did they let that limo angle drop? who was planned to be said to be in the limo, that gave him such a push? ive been thinking it mightve been hogan, right before the whole nwo thing came about, but if that was the case it doesnt make sense for them to drop a good angle like that...

If I remember the angle correctly, it started way back when Marc Mero (Johnny B. Badd) was still in WCW. I also remember Kimberly being involved as well; I believe she won a large sum of money playing bingo, which DDP, subsequently claimed for himself. The limo and the angle were soon dropped afterwards. This was not the first time, nor will it be the last time, an angle is dropped midstream. I seriously doubt that the fans will ever learn the identity of the individual in the limo. It could have very well been Bishoff. Rumors have indicated that DDP and Bishoff were extremely tight. It will be very interesting to see if DDP will receive any current pushes without Bischoff to call the shots.

Rajah, I know you've heard it all before, but excellent site. I recommend it to all my students (I am a high school physics teacher in New York State).
Just a couple of questions:
1. Was there some genuine concern over Mick Foley's condition during the I Quit match at the Royal Rumble? Shane came out after he fell on the circuit board and looked worried and almost wanted the match stopped. Was that just a work?
2. What are Val Venis' political views? Some of his sexual jokes have a right-wing theme to them and I believe he has also been critical of some of Canada's "socialist" policies (health care, etc.).
Thank you.

1)Yes, it was a work. The last man you have to worry about taking too many bumps is:MANKIND! I hope they are paying this man well, for all the future degenerative conditions he most certainly will endure.
2)Once again, this is an angle / work. Val's comments only help to incite heat from the fans, possibly leading to a heel turn.

Hi Raj, Kayfabe, and Grandpa.
Great site. Anyway I have a question:
So the WWF's wrestlers have their music and pyro go off when the run in on a match. That's fine but it raises a question: How does the production crew know to play the music and titan tron videos. You'd think they would just plan to play it in the middle of the match but don't you think that by now there would be at least one incident where the music and pyros went off but the wrestler had a problem of some sort and couldn't make it out to the ring? I think there must be someway that the crew can know but I don't know what.
Please put this in the mailbag and give me an answer to this nagging question.

Now days, with all the PPV's, and all the other television exposure associated with wrestling. The definitive idea, is now to produce a better product and market every facet of the program for maximum capitalization. To make these types of events successful, it requires a lot of cordinated efforts by all the involved partys. So basically, all the involved participants know exactly what is going on at all times.

1. I was just watching the best of Survivor Series and saw Owen's blotched pile Driver on SCSA. Afterwards they showed an interview of Austin and Jim Ross, and Austin seemed really pissed, was that a shoot interview or was it scripted? I can usually tell but I was very thrown off by this.
2. The Hardy Boyz are the most talented tag team perhaps in the history of the WWF. Why the hell have they been jobbing so much lately? They put on the best matches I have ever seen, like the match on heat against Papa Chulou(sp?) and Taka.
3. Goldust, (Dustin Runnels) was my favorite wrestler in the WWF until he decided to jump ship. I heard it was because of him and Terri getting a divorce, but now I am reading that they are going to stay back together. What the hell is the deal with that? I heard he signed a contract with "Wheel Chair Wrestling", but do you ever think there will ever be a return of the Golden Director to the WWF?
Thank you and please include these in your Mailbag

1)Several sources have reported that SCSA was indeed very ticked off at Owen regarding the botched piledriver. Many continue to speculate that SCSA avoided Owen's funeral, because there was still some legitimate heat between the two wrestling stars.
2)Granted, the Hardy Boyz are a tremendously talented team. However, to label them the best WWF tag-team champions ever is far fetched, to say the least. In time, I have no doubt that they will establish themselves as perenniel champions. There are many great teams that the younger generation has neither heard of, nor has ever had the chance to see.
3)This saga continues to breed unestablished rumors as to what's really going on. I have heard the Runnels would try a reconciliation, however, that too, has since been proven false. With Terri in the WWF, and Dustin rumored to be signing with WCW; this will make any chance at reconciliation even more difficult. At least for the time being, I see Dustin in WCW, attempting to reunite with his estranged father, Dusty.

rajah great job on the site i visit once or twice a day.
first I'd like to ad that wow sucks because they make new up rising stars jobs to 50 and 60 year olds!!! my questions
1. when are the next slammy awards?
2. my friend told me that ecw is kinda fake and kinda real is that true?
3. he also told me that they tell the wrestlers in ecw who wins and they do the rest
4. did sabu really break his neck?
5. what happened to the guy in the white who always helped droz and prince Albert
6 and finally just so people really believe me isn't the Stephanie test marriage fake

Ummm...... "ME" thinks you have a problem with us experienced, seasoned veterans. I know many wont agree with the following comment, but oh well: Ric Flair, more than any other wrestling star, is responsible for the success the wrestling industry has been witnessing lately. It was Flair, that dominated the NWA, long before most fans ever heard of Vince K. McMahon. Flair was the most respected man in the sport; While Hogan is lyin about saying your prayers and slammin' steroids. Besides, you'll be hard pressed to find many wrestlers that have more or equal wrestling talent / technique as Flair.
1)To the best of my memory, they have been cancelled.
2)ECW, like all professional wrestling organizations (UFC excluded) matches are scripted (predetermined endings), however, the bumps and slams they take are real. Professionals do know how to land properly, but they still take physical abuse during their matches. In my not so humble opinion, ECW is no more real or fake as the other promotions. I personally like ECW, it reminds me of a lot of promotions when I was a kid.
3)I believe there is a little more detail involved than that. Predetermined winners? Yes, of course. However, there has to be some details involved for the match to be successful, i.e. time limit, props, fan participation (heat or pops), certain moves, and of course, the ending.
4)No, this was an angle. People with neck injuries DO NOT attempt the insane moves that Sabu prides himself on..
5)He has been sent down to Memphis Power Pro Wrestling, to work on his matt skill and to shed a few pounds too.
6)aarrrrgghhhhh! YES!

Hey Rajah whats up great site
A couple of questions crossed my mind is:
1)Brian Cristopher really Jerry Lawers Son.
2)2) Why did Ken Shamrock go crazy when Ryan went out with Val Venus but he didnt he seem to mind when she hooked up with MEAT

1)Yes
2)It was all part of the angle.

From:mdw1188
I love the site, keep up the good work.
I am also in college and know it is difficult to get things done at times, but you still do an efficient job.
I just have a few quick questions:
1. I read somewhere that Dustin and Terri Runnels might be getting back together. Is this true?
2. I believe that Silva is the only former Oddity still under WWF contract. WIll he come back from Mexico to the WWF anytime soon?
3. I agree with the king of sellouts (Taz) losing the ECW title, but I don't think Mike Awesome should have been the one to beat him. Why not have Sabu or RVD be the champion?
4. Why dosen't the WWF just fire Steve Blackman? He sucks and it is obvious he will never get over, and I am willing to bet that Ernest Miller could beat his ass in a fight anyday.
5. i read in a previous edition of the mailbag that the Warlord was dead. Is this true?

1)See above comments.
2)I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for Giant Silva to return anytime soon.
3)I agree. In my opinion: RVD is the most incredible wrestler in any federation! He should be ECW champ!
4)Obviously, someone very high up the ranks thinks very highly of Blackman, or he would not still be employed. I believe once Shamrock departs, Blackman will have a better chance to get "over." I have read numerous reports about the "Cat" not being the easiest person to deal with. As for who could whip who; the point is moot (it's not gonna happen).
5)Yes

Dear Rajah
When do you think Jaqualine will get a bigger push in the WWF ? I mean of all the women she can wrestle the best .Luna and Ivory come second.I look one the WWW. Diva.com. and even that Kitty person has more pictures than she does. What is up with that Kitty person ,she is not that good looking, and WWF really doesn't need another blond!

Jaqueline is indeed one of the most talent women wrestlers. I am still uncertain whether the WWF really wants to build a top-notch women's division. They had the chance with: Nicole Bass, Chyna, Luna, Jaqueline, but they let that slip away. Luna, is the best women wrestler in the WWF right now. Now as far as Miss Kitty goes; we can never, and I mean never, have enough blonde kitties.
Here, kitty, kitty.... <^,,^> Works everytime!

From:ED
I was just wondering but didn't The Machines win the tag title at one point when they were wrestling? I might be wrong though.
Thanks. This is the best web page on the net.

As far as the wrestling almanacs go, they did not. Perhaps, they were stripped of the belts or some other controversial finishing due to confusion involving who the legal competitors were of the THREE-man Machines team? I will try to get confirmation on this.

From:TyPHeOuS X
If you remember a little bit ago, when Mankind was fueding with The Rock, Mankind took The Rock's $100,000 from him.(The stuff that The Rock got from Mr.McMahon for helping him put Stone Cold out) I was wondering if that was really Shane's money, and If the money was acually real.
Thanks

I remember seeing LOTS of one dollar bills (nothing larger) being thrown out. Shane's money? No chance in hell!

Hey Rajah king site anyway enough sucking up.
1. What do you think of the WWF women. It's my opinion that they are all ugly or old.
2. Is it just me or does WCW have better women then WWF but still gets crappy ratings.
3. What happened to vader he was a wicked wrestler beat undertaker at a royal rumble 1996 i think.
Thanks

1)UUrrgg! I'm blind. Miss Kitty is a hottie, though!
2)Yes; Gorgeous George and Torri Wilson along with Kimberly are the hottest babes in wrestling.
3)There have been talks about him competing in ECW, but nothing ever was finalized. I believe he is still competing in Japan for the time being.

From:TweetyBird
I was just reading on the wcw.com website that disco might be getting a new gimmick. Do you or one of the others have any idea what it might be? WCW pretty much said in the report that he wouldn't be using the amnesia gimmick, and the only hint that they gave was that it might start with a "guh" sound.
Any help would be appreciated.

I know of at least two, maybe three gimmicks, that have been scrapped for Disco. Considering there is a new creative team hired by WCW, to write the angles / storylines, it would be in WCW's best interest to wait until all the talent has been evaluated by the new writers. Then the new gimmicks / angles would be assigned to the wrestlers.

I have a question and a comment
1. in a past mailbag, you said HHH was in the WCW under some name[can't remeber right now] That may be true but in late 1994 he wrestled in the WCW under the name of jean Paul Lafleque[sp?] which I believe is his real name.
2. When Glen Jacobs wrestled as Issac Yankem. he had really bad teeth. Does Glen Jacob [Kane] really have that bad teeth? Your site rocks I visit at least once every day.
PLEASE POST THIS IN THE MAILBAG.

1)You are correct, he wrestled under both names while in WCW.
2)Once again, this was an angle.

From:Insanityx1
First off Great Site. Now for a few questions.
1) I saw a movie years ago with a guy that looked like the undertaker but it was so long ago I cant remember. I think it was called "I come in Peace"(that was the catch phrase in the movie) Was that him?
2) In your last mailbag someone asked about a guy that looked like a viking. That was the Berzerker wasnt it. I remember me mainly jobbed but on nite he wrestled the undertaker and jumped trying to stab the Undertaker with his sword on the way down. Udertaker moved but the sword peirced the ring.

Now I have a few comments:
1) Lets be serious. How would sexually harass Nicole Bass? I was a fan of her for a while, but come on shes even more bitter that Sable. A wwf official probably was xchecking to make sure of her gender so she could compete in the woman's division.
2)Now this is about the Bret situation at Surviver Series. Vince is suppose to believe that Bret is gonna forfiet the title the next night on raw after he already signed a wcw contract? Lets be serious, Bret was trying to screw Vince. Bret could have not forfiet the the title, then showed up in WCW with the WWF Heayweight Championship. Now at this time WWF is losing in ratings, this would have killed the WWF. Vince was saving the company. I saw the Wrestling with Shadows, and I heard the part where Bret had a mic on and went into a conference with wwf officials to disucess how the match would end. And at no time did bret say "And I'll even sign a contract saying I will forfiet the title tomorrow night."

1)Yes, it is him.
2)John Nord was both : "Nord the Barbarian" and the "Berzerker."

1)Anyone could be a victim of sexual harassment, whether Nicole Bass was harassed or not, has not been proven at this point in time. I would much rather harass Miss Kitty, Teri or Marianna (at least you know what you're getting with them).
2)We will probably never know the real story pertaining to the "screw job," however, if I had to believe one of the partcipants it would be Bret.

From:Donna / Darin
Hey Rajah and Sawan how's it goin?
Your guy's site ROCKS!!!!!
AND FOR GODSAKE PLEASE PUT THIS IN THE MAILBAG. I HAVEN'T BEEN IN THERE ONCE!!!!!!!!
I got a couple of questions:
1) When is DX coming back? (Just kidding) that must really piss you off with everybody asking that.
1)Do you think that we'll ever see Triple H win a match without someone interfering?
2) And another thing. When Chyna first came to the WWF she seemed so tough. I remember when she would do hurricenranas to the other wrestlers. Now all she does is low blows. Where's the Chyna that used to be a bad mutha?
3) Do you think that there's even a slight chnce that Steve Austin will turn heel. I know that he can't do it right now cause that could jeopordize the merchandise sales and stuff. But everybody complains that he's a crappy wrestler and only has two moves. If you ask me, when Stone Cold was first establishing himself in the WWF and was feauding with Bret Hart, he made an awsome heel. That's probably the main reason why he's so popular because he seems (or used to seem) not to give a rats @$$ for authority. NOw all he does is give the middle finger, stunner, and drink beer. He should become a heel.
4) I think that Stone Cold really drinks carbhonated iced tea instead of beer because wouldn't he seem little weird if he actually drank like four cans in a row of the real stuff?

1)Hmmm....... I've been wondering about this too. Just to surprise us all, oneday he will win cleanly, then again...............
2)Too much plastic surgery! I would imagine she has to be careful or she could damage all the work thats been completed on her.
3)In time, I would say a very good chance that he will eventually turn heel. Very few wrestlers stay the same for the duration of their careers.
4)He spills more than he drinks.

From:Josephine
Hey wassup Raj and staff, best site ever!
Damn, is there anything you guys don't know?! Geez!
Anyway, here are my questions & comments & other stuff that I know u'll all do a good job of answering:
Questions:
1. Where's Paul Bearer?!
2. What are the chances of Ryan Shamrock coming back to the WWF?
3. Is there a place where I can find a pix of Fabulous Moolah when she was young?
4. Speaking of FM, do you think she can win the Women's belt?
5. Is Debra ever planning to wrestle?
6. From what you guys hear from fans and what u experienced urselves, who are the nicest and meanest guys in the WWF (in real life, i'm not talking about their gimmicks)?
7. I've never been to a live event, so tell me, what happens at a live event that we don't see on TV?
8. Will Head ever come back to life?
9. Will Luna get the belt soon? I hope she does, she deserves it more than any chick in WWF!

Comments: (tell if u agree/disagree & why)
1. For those of you who think Chyna shouldn't be getting a push, she isn't good enough to win the IC belt, bla bla bla, lemme just tell ya some stuff. First of all, I respect ur opinions. Sure she's not the best wrestler out there, but you all know she isn't bad at all. I just think she needs a special move on her own besides the lowblow (which actually rules! hehe) Anyway, it's just a damn chromosome, 'k? Just because she's a chick doesn't mean she shouldn't be pushed. If there's wrestlers out there that are jealous and stuff, well the wwf will push them when it's time. for now, it's the 9th Wonder of the World's turn. She shouldn't be wrestling with the chicks cuz you all know she'll "kill" them all considering height, weight and how muscular the chick is. I think she should keep on wrestling with the boys and she needs her own gimmick (theme song, special move, etc.) cuz she's waaaaay over with the fans anyway. CHYNA RULES! GIRL POWER!!!!!!! :-)

2. Why do ppl still worship SCSA? I mean, I think Chyna's a better wrestler, she actually does wrestling moves instead of the rattlesnake who just brawls with everyone, gets in their face, and then chug down a bunch of beer. If you like the guy then good for you, but DAMN please don't worship him and all that other junk 'cause he isn't all that, he's getting old and so's his gimmick.

3. I think that kennel match with Bossman/Al Snow on Unforgiven sucked. All the dogs did was attack each other. Noticed that???

1)He's on a weight losing hiatus.
2)Slim and none. It would appear that she burned her bridges behind her.
3)I don't think Moolah was ever young! But here's a link, scroll down to the second picture. click here
4)Sure, Moolah was always a great wrestler, besides this is "sports entertainment."
5)I heard she was training to take mild bumps, but I just don't see her wrestling anytime soon.
6)Currently, I dunno. However, Jesse Ventura was the biggest jerk I've ever met. The punk wouldn't give my friends little brother an autograph. But, Grandpa got the autograph for the kid.
7)It depends if you go to a house show or a televised event or a PPV. House shows are just a string of matches thrown together, that may or may not have any storyline purposes attached to it. Usually nothing "good" happens at house shows but the action is superb. RAWs are different and depending on what the WWF has in plan, the live audience is treated to one or more dark matches--matches that are good in quality but are reserved for the general paying public and have virtually no effect on storylines (belts will not change hands in a dark match). There are also stuff that you will see when the cameras are not rolling, perhaps some bloopers, blunders and re-takes. As for PPVs, what you see on TV is pretty much what you get, except for stuff that might take place between matches. The unfortunate Owen Hart tragedy comes to mind right away.
8)No, he's retired in Mexico with Pepper. The two of them are currently plotting their political stratedgy. They make a better team than Clinton and Gore; then again, who couldn't?
9)Rumors, say yes.

1)Chnya either deserves a push in the womens division, or to be pushed off the penthouse roof. Her entire routine has become boring.
2)Good point. SCSA is way over rated!
3)The kennell match sucked!

From:CHS2269
Well, me again I just wanted to know about the mailbag question I sent that never got posted....I wanted to know if u knew who the wrester where in the SHOW BEHIND wrestling or something like that where they should all the moves and they had masks on DID u know who they where please

All I remember is that one of those men was Del Wilkes, also known as the Patriot from WWF fame. The rest of them were probably either jobbers or independent wrestlers. I've heard other names here and there, but to be honest, I can't remember them. It was no one overly "important".

From:Smackup316
Undertaker is 34, I know this as a fact. On march ?? at wwf.com at "this week in wrestling history", it said that the Undertaker is celebrating his 34th birthday. I love your site but you're wrong about the Undertaker. He was born march ?? 1965 I believe. Post this because it isnt' fair making the undertaker look old even though he's fairly young.

I don't know about that, because according to many sources, the Undertaker was born on March 24 of 1962. I am 99% sure of this fact so I don't know if WWF.com misreported this info on purpose or if you got mixed up (no offense). I'll try to get confirmation on this though.

Hi mailbag dudes, you know who you are. I thought you maybe could help me out a little. Back in the day, like probably the late 80's there was a WWF wrestler and for the life of me I can't remeber this poor jabroni's name. Here goes, he was white, black hair (somewhat curly) a beard, he wore socks and black shoes, I think. This guy wore red trunks (the longer kind, that goes like almost to the knee) and a red tanktop too. I also know that he had a wrestling figure as well, (it was one of those big-ass rubber deals like the rest of them). Thanks if you can recall who this rassler was.

Hmmmm....is there any more information you can give me...like who this guy feuded with, if he was heel or face, how tall he was or how much he weighed in approximate dimensions? Send us another email if you have more details because I want to figure out who you are talking about! Stuff like this will drive me crazy until I crack it.

From:Kyle
Hey Rajah,Kayfabe, and Grandpa.
First I wanna say you guys easily have the best wrestling site around.
I have a few questions.
1. I have a bet with my friend on something. In early 1999 in one of the WWF Magazines they had a section that kinda gave you hints on things that were going to happen. Some of them are pretty obvious and a lot of them haven't happened and might not, but under D-X they said that they were getting back together and the only man that could do it had the initials S.M.(HBK obviously) but do you think that they just meant the original D-X which has already happened or do you think the real D-x is getting back together?
2.I have been viewing your site for a long time now and I want to know if the WWF is under any negotiations with Yokozuna at all?
3.What kind of gimmick do you think Taz will have in the WWF?
4.This Chyna-Jarrett angle won't last long after No Mercy sowhat do you think will happen with Debra because it seems doubtful she will team up with the rattlesnake.
Thanx Guys!

1)They are implying a D-X reunion, which as of yet has not happened but is showing some signs now and again. I'm not sure if whoever wrote that article genuinely believed that or was told to write in on the basis of sparking more interest in the WWF product. Although it is from the WWF themselves, stuff like this is usually to get people talking and excited.
2)No, they are not under any formal negotiations at this time, but the possibility of talks is always there and there have been discussions on and off. But it's not like the WWF is seriously pursuing him at this time.
3)From what I hear, Taz will be pushed bigtime. Common sense would seem to dictate that he would be inserted into the hardcore title scene, however a significant push in the WWF usually means bigger and better things. However, I do NOT think he'll be thrown on to TV as a main eventer, right off the bat.
4)There have been weak rumors that state that Chyna will be splitting away from HHH and go onto concentrate on her own career and Debra will manage her. Not sure how well that would work, but it is VERY unlikely that she will be paired with Steve Austin.

AS FOR THE QUESTION 10/5 MAILBAG ON PAGE 4 ABOUT AUSTRALIAN WRESTLERS IN THE WWF. I BELIEVE THE KANGAROOS TAG TEAM (HEFFERNAN & COSTELLO) IN THE 60'S -80'S WERE ALSO FROM AUSTRALIA.

PERSONAL QUESTIONS:
1)ARE YOU A MAN OR WOMAN?
2)REAL NAME?
3)HOW OLD ARE YOU?
4)WHERE DO YOU LIVE (CITY & STATE)?
5)HOW MUCH EXPERIENCE (YEARS) DO YOU HAVE IN THE WRESTLING INFORMATION THAT YOU PUT OUT? IT APPEARS TO ME THAT YOU PUT OUT GREAT I NFORMATION AND PRETTY KNOWLEDGEABLE.

I HAVE NO PROBLEM TELLING YOU THAT I AM A 58 YEAR OLD MAN. I USE TO WATCH WRESTLING WITH MY GRANDFATHER IN LOS ANGELES DURING THE 1950'S, 60'S. WATCHED SOME SOUTHEASTERN WRESTLING WHEN I WAS STATIONED IN NORFOLK, VA 69 - 71. THERE WERE VERY FEW WRESTLING SHOWS ON WHEN I CAME BACK HOME TO SAN DIEGO, CA IN THE EARLY 80'S - AND THEN AS YOU KNOW, HULK HOGAN TOOK OVER TOWARDS THE MULTI MILLION DOLLAR BUSINESS IT IS TODAY.
TAKE CARE & HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU SOON,

1)I am male.
2)I don't believe in internet aliases. Thus, my real name is Rajah Kumar.
3)Turned 21 this year.
4)Near Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I just noticed that all these questions have answers located at the "Staff Profiles" section of the page. For more info about me, go there I guess.
5)I've been watching wrestling for about 15 years, but I didn't start getting the "good info" until much later, probably when not until 3 or 4 years ago. I just knew the basics until that time.

Why did the WWF drop the Val Venis/ Godfather angle? I thought it was turning out great.

It was of the opinion that both guys could prosper in singles competition, so instead of undermining each of their talents as a tag team, they were split up. Both their characters seem more suited towards singles careers as well.

That idea has occured to me before, but unfortunately, it's only wishful thinking. Not gonna happen, although I'd love to see it.

Sorry, Is it just me or is Chris Jericho a flop?? True, the only match I have seen him in was the one with the masked Gracie in the cage of RAW. That was a big let down. It seems to me that he is great at running his mouth but not all that flash at actual wrestling. I don't believe that him being flamboyant enough to work the microphone constitutes him being passed off as a great wrestler. Could I have some proof that he is an acredited wrestler.
Thanx.

There's a lot of people you can say that about in the WWF *coughroaddoggcough*, but Chris Jericho is not one of them. Jericho is one of the very few men in the WWF that is excellent and entertaining on the mic, and is a superb wrestler as well. Sadly, there aren't many good technical wrestlers left in the WWF, but Jericho is one of the best around. You want proof? Watch RAW and Smackdown every week, catch pay per views when you can, and rent tapes of those that you miss. Then, write me back a year from now and tell me if you feel the same way about Jericho's wrestling skills. I guarantee you won't.

1- Is the Undertaker recovering from a hip injury or did his wife give birth to a kid?
2- When bossman got hit in the face with the pitcher of jr's koolaid on raw was the glass real or that fake glass
3-Who are the top main bookers in the wwf?
4- When the wrestlers do interviews do they plan ahead of what they are going to say and do or just plan it on the spot? If they plan it on the spot then The Rock and Mike Cole are the best there is.
5)o yeah on a side note this seems pretty far fetched but when G-TV comes on wwf listen to the person saying ''G-Tv" cause i swear it sounds like Vader. U never know it could be Vader

1) The Undertaker is taking some well desrved time off right now recovering from hip and knee injuries. I'm not sure if his wife has given birth or not, although that is possible. The main and confirmed reason for his absence, however, is injury related.
2) The pitcher was a prop, but when it broke, some debris got stuck above the Bossman's eye. He had to get it removed backstage, and I believe he needed some stitches. The Bossman is as tough as they come though, and didn't miss a single match as a result.
3) Vince Russo and Ed Ferrera were the head writers/bookers for the WWF, but as I'm sure everyone knows by now, they have jumped ship to WCW. Now, the WWF has promoted guys like Terry Taylor, Pat Patterson, Bruce Pritchard, Jim Ross, Jim Cornette, and Shane McMahon to take over the main booking duties. Vince McMahon, of course, has final say over the general direction of the angles.
4) They have a basic outline of what they are going to say, but don't take anything away from the Rock and Michael Cole. They do a tremendous job.
5) It's not Vader.

Quick Question
Who was Tom Pritchards Tag Team partner Gigolo someone? (My girlfriend thinks perhaps they were called the Heavenly Bodies and were managed by the Genius).
Cheers

Your girlfriend is mostly correct. Pritchard's tag team partner with the Heavenly Bodies was "Gigolo" Jimmy Del Ray, but the team was managed by James E. Cornette, not the Genius.

Hey Raj, I have a few questions for you. I was wondering who was "The Patriot"? What ever happened to him? I thought he was cool. Why did the WWF not keep his gimmick going? Where is he now? Please put this in the mailbag.
Thanks.

The Patriot was played by Dan Wilkes. After he got his push, he was injured, and the WWF cut him. They have shown no interest in taking him back.

A FEW WORDS ON A LEGEND...

I'd like to take this opportunity to offer my condolences to the family of Robert Marella, better known as Gorilla Monsoon. I am too young to have seen Gorilla's wrestling days, so I've only heard stories about how great he was in the ring. And while I am sure they are true, I will always remember Gorilla Monsoon as the best wrestling play by play man I have ever heard. Monsoon, who was a face announcer in the 80's and early 90's, was, in my opinion, one half of the two greatest announcing tandems in wrestling history. Gorilla and Jesse "The Body" Ventura, and Gorilla and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan were both tremendous announcing duos. Gorilla and The Brain had a chemistry with each other unlike any other commmentators I have ever heard, at any time, in any sport. They were the best at their jobs and were the perfect fit for each other. But no matter who his partner was, Gorilla Monsoon was there to entertain. I can personally recall looking forward to him calling matches. Even if the match itself was lacking, Gorilla made you want to watch anyway. His commentary alone was enough to draw me into the match. There is something to be said about that. It takes a special skill to be able to do something of that sort, and Gorilla Monsoon had that gift. He was a consumate professional, and I have never heard anyone say anything even remotely deragatory about Gorilla. He will be missed.

Robert "Gorilla Monsoon" Marella
RIP 1937-1999

Good site, keep it up. Quick question for ya'. Do you think Smackdown will ever be live?

Not anytime soon. The WWF has their television scheduele set. It's easier for them to have television shows/tapings two days in a row (Monday and Tuesday), rather than have everyone wait until Thursday to perform Smackdown.

Hi all, great site, just got a couple of questions for you .
1) Can you tell me the name of the unstopable guy from Sweden (i think),who's finisher was a version of the torture rack, and did he actually ever lose?.
2)Do you think D'Lo Brown will ever be World Champ?.......as he definately has the wrestling potential.
CHEERS......

1) I believe you are talking about the powerhouse known as Ludvig Borga, who was from Helsinki, Finland. Borga wrestled in a black outfit, and had a hatred for America. He was part of the main event at Survivor Series, as he, Quebecer Jacques, Crush, and Yokozuna challenged The Steiner Brothers, Lex Luger, and the Undertaker. Borga was undefeated for quite awhile when he first entered the WWF, but by the time he left the company, he had indeed gone down in defeat.
2) Could be. The WWF has a lot of young stars right now. Guys like D'Lo, Test, Chris Jericho, Val Venis, and Edge and Christian all have a ton of potential. I doubt D'Lo will get a monster push this soon, though. These stars are the future of the WWF, and must be brought along slowly. Otherwise, they'd be pushed too quickly, and be past their prime by age thirty.

Thought Id just settle this, since I saw it. It was The Rock who made those comments on MTV just before introducing a Kid Rock video, saying that Kid Rock called HIM, and told him that he was a huge fan of his, and The Rock gave him his usually brushoff, but somehow (I forget how he led in to it) said Kid Rock to him, and thats how this guy got his name. It was all just Rocky being Rocky. It did happen though, and it was kinda funny.

Hey Raj & everybody else! In the last mailbag, someone asked about the ages of certain wrestlers. You guessed that Christian was 29. Just wanted to let you know that as of now he is only 25, and he turns 26 on November 30th.

Great Site i luv it!! but ne wayz i hav a few questions i want 2 ask u guyz.
1)exactly when did austin turn face?i remember that he was always a heel.
2)at the 1999 king of the ring who raised brief case during the austin/macmahon ladder match
3)who pushed mankind during the boiler room brawl against triple h on smackdown?
P.S. Please put dis on the next mailbag thanx

1) There wasn't really one specific event that turned him face, although many point to his match with Bret Hart at Wrestlemania XIII. Really, though, it was his whole feud with Bret. Hart had always been a face, and Austin was acting like a major heel by cursing at and beating everyone in his path. But, for some reason, the fans took a liking to Stone Cold's attitude. He was getting major face pops, so the WWF decided to switch their roles, and they turned Bret into a heel. Ever since then, Austin's been one of the most prolific faces in the history of the WWF.
2) Although the WWF never came out and said it, they implied that it was the Big Bossman. You may remember that the stipulation for that match was that no Corporate Ministry members were allowed to interfere. A week before King Of The Ring on RAW, the Corporate Ministry attacked the Bossman to make it look as if he had been booted from the stable. Then, the night after King of the Ring, the Corporate Ministry welcomed the Bossman back into the group. Seemingly, there had never been a problem between them. So, the McMahons found a loophole. Technically, no member of the Corporate Ministry interfered in the match because at the time, the Bossman was not in the stable.
3) That is unknown for sure, but the logical guess would be either Chyna or the British Bulldog.

From:The best G,
Hey sup Raj and company. I have some questions for you mailbag.
1.By any chance is Jimmy Hart coming back to the WWF?
2.Remeber a couple of months back when Stone Cold Steve Austin got fired because he did not count a winner a judgement day? Who was it that reinstated him?
3.Someone once told me that The Rock's first finishing move was a neckbreaker type move.Is that true or is my friends just busting my chops?
4.I remeber a while back at I think wrestlemania 7 a I quit match took place between Ultimate Warrior and The Macho Man.The loser i think had to retire. The Ultimate Warrior won the mat ch.and Macho had to retire. But how come he was still on TV. Did he get reinstated or something along those lines.

1) Not likely.
2) Shane McMahon resigned him behind his father's back.
3) The Rock didn't always use the Rock Bottom or People's Elbow for his finisher. I can't recall what it used to be right now, but it's very possible it was a neckbreaker type move.
4) It wasn't an I Quit Match; it was a Career Match. After the Warrior won, Savage stayed on television as a commentator. Later in the year (1991), Jake "The Snake" Roberts viciously attacked Savage in the ring, and let his snake loose on him. Savage was irate, and WWF President Jack Tunney reinstated the Macho Man, so that he could face Roberts one on one at the one time only pay per view This Tuesday in Texas in December '91. From then on, Savage was reinstated, and cleared to wrestle. The next April he went on to defeat Ric Flair at Wrestlemania VIII to become a two time World Wrestling Federation Heavyweight Champion.
