rajah.com Mailbag
-By Grandpa, Kayfabe and Rajah

Alright, I have re-opened the Mailbag section with the help of two individuals, Kayfabe and Grandpa. Hopefully, it will work out better this time, as the above individuals will handle the great BULK of the emails.

Here are the steps to take if you like your question answered in the Mailbag section:

1. Please check to see that your question(s) have not been answered on any other sections of the page. Take great note of the FAQ Part I and FAQ Part II.
2. Send a legibly written question or comment to mailbag@rajah.com. Please try to keep it short, since if it is too long, it will be prone to editting.
3. ALL email sent there may potentially be included in the Mailbag. If you do not want your response posted, do NOT send it there!
4. If a name is included, I will post it along with the email. If you do not want your name published, do NOT write it!
5. Remember, it is impossible that every email I receive get posted on this page. Only the best and most popular questions/comments will likely make it on.
6. Also remember, that questions will be answered by either Kayfabe or Grandpa, so any personal remarks should be addressed accordingly. The following color scheme will be used:

Rajah - GREEN
Kayfabe - YELLOW
Sawan - BLUE

IMPORTANT!!!
If you have anything to add to any of these questions/comments or even my remarks, please email me. I'm not claiming that all my info is correct, as I'm sure that some of it is inaccurate as well. PLEASE READ THE DIRECTIONS ABOVE AND NOTE THE CHANGE IN THE EMAIL ADDRESS!!!

I'm a personal friend of your brothers; is it true he whips you when you refuse to work on the site? Rajah, on many occaisons has stated this, I was wondering if this was true?
Thanks!

Yes, it is true. If people stop working, I bring out the ol' whip and lay a beating that would make the Big Bossman look like Barbie. [Note: The previous two sentences were meant in joke and are not to be taken seriously. If you do take it seriously, get a brain.]

1)please can you tell me if arn anderson is working for the wwf,,,
2)and what was jack tunnys real role in the wwf when he was president

1)At the moment, Anderson is with WCW but he did work for the WWF back in the early 90s as part of the tag team: The Brain Busters.
2)Jack Tunney assumed a symbolic position and had virtually no power in the WWF. His "president" title is an analogue to the present day "commissioner" role. Tunney was basically there to somewhat hide the fact that Vince McMahon was the boss because at that time, Vinnie did his best to look like just an announcer. Many fans didn't even know he was the owner at that time and assumed Tunney to be the man with all the power.

Hey Rajah How's It going? Hey I had a question. Do you KNow what ever happened to the Tonga Kid? He Was Around in the Jimmy Superfly Snuka Days as a matter of fact I think He was his partner for a whille at the time i think he was like 19 or something. and my main question is: Is Rikishi the Tonga Kid? Well I would appreciate it if you would get back to me.
Thanks Alot

As far as I know, Rikiski Fatu is the real life brother of the Tonga Kid, who also competed with Haku as part of the Islanders. Almost all the Samoans are virtually related and it does get confusing. I will TRY and get confirmation from Afa on this matter, so please keep reading if you're still interested.

I was just wondering if you could tell me when we can expect to see Taz in the WWF?
Thank You
P.S You guys have a great web page

Taz is expected to show up on WWF TV in early January but probably will not actually make his wrestlin debut until the end of the month, possibly as part of the Royal Rumble event.

I LOVE your site, I visit at least once a day. I am also a college student, and I e-mailed the WWF about possibly having a show on my campus, but I have learned that the arena is under contract with WCW following a house show they had here last year (that sucks!). Here are a few questions I hope you and your associates can answer:
1. Even though I am a big WWF fan, I really beileve that WCW will retake the ratings war in late May or June. When, if ever, do you think WCW will be back on top?
2. Why dosen't the WWF push the Blue Meanie? He could really breathe some life back into the hardcore division.
3. Why is everyone so impressed with Kurt Angle? He has some skills and talent, but what kind of crowd reaction does he get? Practically none!
4. I know the WWF has considered releasing Tiger Ali Singh for a long time. Would you know the status of that?
5. Where can I write to to protest the actions of the PTC. Their crusade against the WWF is total bullshit, and I think it is the duty of every wrestling fan to tell them so.
6. When the hell is Edge going to get a singles push? He is one of my favorite wrestlers, and he definately deserves to hold the IC title for more than a day!
Keep up the excellent work!

1)Well personally, I don't think it will happen for a LONG time, if it ever does. The WWF is just way ahead if you think about the numbers for a second. An average near 6 composite is a huge number to bite out of and it will take several months for WCW to even put a dent into that. It definitely won't be a thing happening over a span of a few weeks, nor will one man or woman catapult WCW into legit competition with the WWF. It will be gradual thing no doubt.
2)Mainly because of weight issues and the fact that the crowd doesn't really respond to him.
3)Kurt Angle is newcomer if there ever was one. Signed and molded by the WWF, his talents as a wrestler are limitless, but he is growing into his own as he develops his mic skills and learns when and how to work the crowd. I don't know if it's just me, but I definitely notice collective heat towards him when he shows up.
4)Tiger Ali Singh is still with the WWF, at least contractually. He is undergoing a creative evaluation, in which the bookers attempt to analyze his character's future in the WWF. Given his somewhat unpopular nature in the lockerroom, it wouldn't surprise me to see him get released sometime in 2000.
5)Visit this site for more information: http://www.pwbts.com/censor.html
6)Edge will get a singles push in due time. That is pretty much guaranteed. But it's important for the WWF to not push him too fast or too prematurely. Even if he did go singles, there would be several guys ahead of him in line for pushes and in the end it would do more harm than good. Edge is young and has the better part of the next decade to earn his main-event or near main-event status.

Hey raj, just wanted to say you have a kick ass site and I visit it all the time! I have a few question.
1. Will the WWF ever have a 60 minute Iron Man Match again? I thought the Bret Hart/Shawn Michaels match at WM 12 was one of the best main events I've ever seen.
2. Have you ever read what Bret Hart puts on his Calgary Sun articles? I know he hates what Vince did to him but I mean come on! I use to be a HUGE Bret Hart fan until he started going off on the WWF. Sometimes it pisses me off because of what he says. It's like he forgets where he came from and if it weren't for the WWF, his career would be no where. He needs to seriously get over the screw job at Survivor Series.
3. Of all places, why would the WWF choose to hold WM2000 at the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim? I live here in Southern California and the Pond isn't a big name of an arena like MSG. Besides, we already had this year at Pond The Royal Rumble, Raw, and Smackdown (not to mention WM 12 three years ago). I think the WWF is caterting to Southern Cali!
4. Wouldn't you like to see the return of Demolition!? They got to be one of my all time favorite tag teams.
Anyways, shanks a lot and hope to hear from ya!

1)The iron man match was purely created on the basis of the angle advancement in the Bret-Shawn war. It was a unique match that only makes sense when it included those guys. The reason we don't see it anymore is it would be foolish to just stick two guys in the ring and say "hey, this is an iron man match by the way" because it would wear down on the value it should rightfully carry. Perhaps, when two guys come along with the background of a Bret-Shawn feud, we may see it again, but I wouldn't count on it...
2)Yes, I have heard it. To me it seems like Bret Hart still feels sorry for himself after what happened at Survivor Series. I'm not saying we shouldn't, but it happened so long ago and life has moved on after. I think Bret should do the same and concentrate on WCW more than he does on WWF. It would be the best for his career.
3)I agree. The WWF always seems to flock to places like New York, southern California and other large markets such as Cleveland, Detroit, Philadelphia, etc. The WWF is guaranteed a virtual sellout at all of those above places.
4)Definitely, they were my favorite tag team, but unfortunately to say, I think it never will materialize. A lot of the "new" fans wouldn't even know who they are and it would also be tough to find two guys to play the roles. Bill Eadie (Ax) and Barry Darsow (Smash) - the people we consciously think of when we picture Demolition, are practically assured of never returning to the WWF.

Hey, Rajah, Kayfabe,Grandpa,Sawan
Nice site, I come to your site a couple times a day. This is the third time I have written in for answers. Maybe this time you will answer them considering they are different from the usual "Are there two Undertakers, . Ok onto the questions......
1. Why doesn't Mike Buffer do the Ready to Rumble intro on Nitro anymore?
2. Has the pumped up security guy on WWF ever wrestled?
3. Who is Barbra Bush( B.B. ) and where did she come from **she's a hottie**
4. Where do the federations have their champ. belts made?
5. What do you think Scott Vick's and Tazz's role will be in the WWF?
6. What would you rate Armagedon? I personally liked it, but i did nod off during the last match. It was a change from all the Austin matches and so forth.
7. Does ECW tell each wrestler how many tables they can use during their match, b/c they go through tables like they are nothing
Please answer my questions. Thanks guys keep up the good work.
Later

1)I'm not sure since I don't pay that much attention to NITRO, but maybe WCW is trying to save bucks, cause from what I heard Buffer was paid a handful for his famous lines.
2)No, he has never wrestled but it has been teased on and off numerous times before. The WWF magazine even ran an article on him at one time, so the potential is definitely there.
3)Barbara Bush (real name: Kathy Dingman) is an established female independent wrestler. She is under a developmental contract with the WWF (or possibly a pay-per-appearance deal) but looks like she will remain with the WWF for the forseeable future.
4)I'm not sure. Sorry.
5)Tazz will pretty much keep his ECW type gimmick and Scott Vick, I have heard nothing that indicates which way the WWF will lean. However, I do believe he will get a complete makeover from his previous WCW character.
6)I thoroughly enjoyed Armageddon. I thought it was leaps and bounds better than Survivor Series, especially since it involved more angle progression.
7)I don't think there is a limit, but I'm not sure.

Dear Raj and co.
Just a few queries and thoughts from a UK WWF fan.
1) Is it true that SCSA was once a very technical wrestler but had to change his style and adapt due to injury?
2) Have L.O.D retired? Also was their finisher 'The Doomsday Device' or 'The Devestation Device'?
3) Wouldn't it be cool if Sgt.Slaughter put the 'Cobra Clutch' on somebody he was restraining!
4) Has there been any more news on Kurt Hennig wanting to finish his career in the WWF?
5) Am I the only person who would love to see the return of managers, in the style of 'The Brain' and 'Jimmy Hart' return? Don't get me wrong I love the puppies but I still have fond memories of Hogan throwing 'Slick' against a steel cage after a match with 'The Boss man'.
Cheers, the site rules.

1)Not really, he was always a borderline brawler and never really used a technical style. If you're talking about his stint as part of the tag team with Brian Pillman, maybe, but I wasn't really paying attention to him back then so I don't know. In any case, let's just say he was a technical wrestler back then, I don't believe he changed styles due to his injury, because he never really developed back problems until the mid 90s.
2)LOD is still under a contract with the WWF, but a back injury to Hawk (I think) has kept them out of all storylines. The WWF doesn't want to release them yet because it is probable they will go to WCW. According to the WWF, they are also currently undergoing a creative evaluation.
3)Yeah, it would be damn cool. Of even if he just came out in his army gear one last time.
4)No, as it appears now, he will be remaining with WCW. Apparently, it was all a work that he was leaving WCW.
5)Definitely. I also miss the stereotypical Bobby Heenan and Jimmy Hart managers, but let's face it: the fans today would rather watch Debra engage in a strip tease, or Terri jumping up and down in her revealing outfit as compared to Slick walking around with his cane or Jimmy Hart with his megaphone.

some questions
1) how does goldberg breathe smoke?
2) how does he take all those bumps?
3) why did they decide to give him that huge win streak?
4) what does he walk through during his intro?

1)He's superman.
2)He's superman.
3)Just cause they needed someone to get "over" with the fans real quick.
4)Smoke?

hey raj!
were kickin it doggy style here in texas and i had a couple of ?'s
1. At WM 10 WHY WAS THE 10 MAN TAG ELIMINATED FROM THE PPV? AND WHO WERR THE MEMBERS OF THE TEAM FIGHTING DOUBLE J, IRS, & THE HEADSHRINKERS?
2.THERE WAS AN IYH THAT SCSA & H3 WAS IN, BEFORE EITHER ONE OF THEM HAD MADE IT BIG. I THINK IT WAS IN 96. WHAT ONE WAS THAT AND WHO WON?
3.HAS DEBRA EVER OFFICALLY SIGNED A DEAL WITH PLAYBOY? AND WHERE THE HECK IS SHE?
4.BACK AND THE OLD DAYS WAS A WRESTLER BY THE NAME OF THE DINGO WARRIOR WHO FOUGHT IN THE DALLAS AREA WITH TH VON ERICHS, THE SAME DUDE WHO WAS THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR?
THANX 4 HELPIN! LATER,

1)I'm guessing because of time constraints. Although a rough estimate of the duration of a PPV is calculated beforehand, almost always one match will go longer (or possibly shorter) than intended and this will throw of the optimal airtime of the PPV. Thus, sometimes some matches have to be deleted. As for the second part of your question, I don't remember. As far as my memory serves me, I don't even remember a match involving those guys at Wrestlemania 10.
2)It was in the fall of 1996 and the IYH was called "Buried Alive". In that particular match, Steve Austin defeated Hunter Hearst Helmsley. Consult our PPV Archives for the exact date of the event.

3)Debra has not signed a deal with Playboy although there are constant negotiations taking place. She has been granted time away due to personal reasons (Austin).
4) Yes that was the Ultimate Warrior in his early days.

Hey Rajah Kayfabe and Gramps
What does it mean when someone is over with the crowd?

It's when they get crowd reaction for what they do. For example, everytime the fans hear "If Ya Smell What the Rock is Cookin'!" they go nuts. Meaning the Rock is over with the crowd.

Hey Raj, like the name, heh heh, great site, whooooooo!!
Ok now onto some questions!
1. I heard about the rumor of a new Demolition team coming back with Bryan Adams and Wrath(Adam Bomb) being the two guys, i think Demolition rocked back in the day, and i think they can be good today with 2 talented, but very misused wrestlers from WCW.
2. Why isnt the Blue Meanie back, he has lost so much weight but they still have the ever-so-fat Vicera still there, and he sucks. Fatu is an exception cuz that angle is so damn funny!
3. If WCW wants to have a Jim Ross impersonator, we should have a Tony "I suck at announcing along with Juvi" Schivanne impersonator, or just bring that bald headed SOB Gillberg back. Gillberg Gillberg!!
4. Is there anyone from the WWF Funkin' Dojo who could be debuting soon on WWF TV??
5. Trish Stratus is the hottest woman ever, Sable eat your heart out, i have a pic of her if you want it too(it's well worth it, trust me), in your opinion is Trish hotter than Torrie Wilson(i think so)!!
6. Merry X-Mas to everyone at rajah.com, to the best Wrestling site on the web today!!

1)As of now, there are no plans to bring either of them in a new Demolition. More likely than not, both guys will end up staying with WCW.
2)From what I just recently heard, when Stevie Richards returns, The Blue Meanie may actually be brought back and pushed modestly. Although he has lost a lot of weight, he still needs to establish himself as either a heel or a face, something which he has unsuccessfully done so far. Many underestimate the talents of Viscera, even though he is big and "fat" as you put it, the guy isn't too shabby for a 500lber. In fact, some mainstays at the rajah.com forum have already started a vWo - Viscera World Order. A guy named Michael B. heads that group.
3)I think it's great that the WWF isn't retaliating. It shows that they have confidence in THEIR product and they don't have to resort to bashing someone in another promotion to get ratings.
4)Not that I know of.
5)Yes, I have seen her and she is definitely up there on the babe meter. However, I still will have to give the slight nod to Torrie Wilson, but just by a hair. Trish will surely end up being more of a "wrestling gal" than Torrie though and in all likelihood with the WWF's marketting capabilities, will prosper more.
6)Thanks and same to you and everyone else out there.

please can you tell me when or if Smackdown is coming to the UK. I heard that Sky 1 might be trying to get it.

Yes, it has been confirmed that Smackdown will begin airing on Sky One starting January 8, 2000 at 11pm. I'm not sure if there has been a change of plans since then, but the information I have indicates that Smackdown has come to the UK.

I visit your site almost every day and i have to say its the best, i was wondering how can i get information on wrestling like "how does wrestling influence children today?" i would appreciate if you can help me out.

That is a tough question to answer and one that is impossible to discuss through a matter of words. Obviously, many different people will have different opinions since this question isn't one that has a right or wrong answer. If you're after an opinion, I'd suggest just going by what you believe in by observing today's children or conduct some sort of experiment by subjecting kids to wrestling and what not. That would also be a highly difficult chore so scenario one is probably the best way to go.

Hello Mailbag People.
I was wondering if after 15 or 20 mailbags you would go through and make an FAQ part 3 based on the best questions sent it. What do you think?

Yeah, the FAQ used to be an immensely popular section and after I posted parts one and two, there was huge demands for a third part. I won't lie or offer up excuses as to why there isn't a #3. The truth is I've just been either too lazy, too busy or both to start and finish one. Perhaps, if things work out right, I will produce another one this Christmas season.

From:Stressed Out
Hey Rajah, Grandpa, and Kayfabe
First of all, I want to say that you have an excellent site (you probably heard this a lot). My first question is not wrestling related, but important. A lot of wrestling site has a message board where internet reporters report on rumors and news. I noticed that the exact same rumors or news is reported by several reporters. and what pisses me off is that at the bottom, it's says "when using this report, please credit _____". right now, everybody copies and paste someone rumors and thinks it's their own. what is up with this. and i watch both wwf and wcw. what pisses me off about wcw is tony sch..(i can't even spell his name). he sucks, how long do you think he will stay with wcw? and my last question is why is big bossman getting a push? (he sucks and there are other top wrestlers that deserves some sort of push)

You speak of a very true fact in regard to internet reporting. Not to take anything away from any one reporter, but most of what you see on the so called "newsboards" are just re-hashed and redundant news that is posted on site after site after site. One reporter will post it, another one will copy it and when you consider that usually each reporter will post on like 10 newsboards, you can imagine how often a reader will see it. The credit thing at the bottom is usually a part of the newsboard's script and the given reporter has no control over that. Anyways, that is perhaps the sole reason why I also choose to do news and rumors that are typed up by MYSELF. I believe it brings at least a little bit of freshness/originality to a page. As for your other questions: I am unaware as to Tony Schiavone's contract status, but I'd guess he will be with WCW for a long time. He definitely ain't coming back to the WWF. And Bossman, well my gut feeling is that he is being rewarded for his long years of ser vice to the WWF, both before and after his stay in WCW. Bossman is a veteran and has been very helpful to a lot of the younger stars in the WWF backstage.

From:Rob K
Raj, I will be forever grateful that you answered my last question. Anyways on to the questions:
1. How much time do you spend every day working on rajah.com?
2. How many or approxametly how many tapes has the WWF released. That includes tapes on PPV's, wrestlers, and TV matches?
3. I have heard the foolowing wrestlers were jobbers before they became big names. Cany you please tell me if this is true for each of theses wrestlers.
a] Steve Austin
b] Val Venis
c] Hardy Boys
d] Hardcore Holly
e] X-Pac
4. what do you think of Fata's new gimmick?

1)I spend about 30 minutes to an hour each night at like 2am doing my daily sectional updates before bed. The days that I do news and rumors, it can be anywhere up to 3-4 hours as I research and write up the reports.
2)My god...I have no idea, but I'd say around 100, if not more.
3a)Yes.
3b)Not really.
3c)They weren't jobbers; they just never got recognized.
3d)Yes! Bigtime! Bob "Spark Plug" Holly was almost the king of all jobbers.
3e)Yes indeed. Does 1-2-3 Kid ring a bell?
4)I love it. Usually any big man will have an easier time of getting over than a smaller wrestler, however, with Fatu's (or Phatu as he is now known) natural atheletic ability and relative above average mic skills, I think he'll be a huge hit with the fans.

From:Chris
1)It's widely known what some of the announcers and other non-wrestlers do for the WWF (i.e. Jim Ross), but what about all the others, namely:
a)Jerry Lawler
b)Michael Cole
c)Kevin Kelly
d)Michael Hayes
e)The Associates/Stooges
f)Steve Lombardi (The Brooklyn Brawler)
2)Also, what do the workers under contract do if they're not being involved in any angles (i.e. Debra, HBK, Blue Meanie, Kaientai until last week)? Do they just sit around and collect their paychecks, or they on a per appearance fee?

1a)Jerry Lawler - Is basically an announcer but since he is very loyal to the WWF, he has some pull and likely a little bit of input on angle progression.
b)Michael Cole - He's just an announcer.
c)Kevin Kelly - Same with him.
d)Michael Hayes - Hayes is said to help with booking every now and again, and is also versatile enough to be used in a commentating and even a wrestling role.
e)The Associates/Stooges - Both Stooges are backstage creative writers for the WWF. They help in the area of cutting interviews and promos but with the recent defections write TV as well.
f)Steve Lombardi (The Brooklyn Brawler)- Mainly does promotional work. Really has no say in angles or any business decisions.
2)Other than Debra, Shawn Michaels, and Steve Austin (ie. the "big stars"), all others on the roster MUST accompany the promotion to all live events and what not. That is just in case they are needed for emergency purposes. Regardless of whether they are seen on TV or not, they collect their yearly pay-checks and unless they were signed on per appearance, do not get paid by their showing. The aforementioned Debra, Austin, Michaels, etc. are granted time away with full pay/benefits.

From:SStar770
Ok, this is a pretty lame observation, but nevertheless, I feel the need to point it out to you guys. Did you ever listen to the noises Mankind makes during his matches? Well, often times you can distinctly make out a sound that is unmistakably, "RAJAH". He often says this while pounding an opponents skull or if he is in a submission hold. Just thought I would pass this tidbit along to you.
Later.

HAHAHAHAHA! Ok, if you say so. At least you seem to know how "Rajah" is pronounced. Everyone asks me how I say my name and it's really tough to explain using letters. It's not Ra-ha or Ray-ah or whatever has been suggested to me. If you're hellbent on figuring it out, my advice is to rent the movie Aladdin. The tiger in it has the same name as me (spelled the same way too) and pronounced exactly the way I say my name. Man, was this the protypical wrestling-related question or what?

hey i was reading the post on your newsboard about sending in video's and getting them on your site and i thought up an idea. someone has probably already come up with it and is doing it seeing as how i've never thought up anything original in my life. anyways, i was thinking you could have webcasts of indy feds on your site. i would like to see some of my old favorites wrestle. it would get the feds some publicity since your site is so popular and maybe after a while they could start charging money to watch them kinda like the wwf does with they're webcasts of the ppv's. like i said i'm sure someone already does this or it's a bad idea but don't blame me it was that post that made me think it up. oh great site i've been going for close to a year now.

I was writing you because a while back when I was viewing your site and looking at your photo collection of the women of wrestling I had the option of going into an adult forum of pictures of these women but I can no longer find where to get to this site. I was wondering if you could tell me how to return to this site or tell me why you have shut it down.

It wasn't on my site. I believe the section you are talking about is on the OWOW.com site. They have an adult section with apparent nudes, but as always don't believe everything you see. There is a link to the above site on MY women of WWF pics, cause I borrowed some of his photos.

Do you know where I can find wrestling scripts? You know, those papers that the announcers have or Patterson & Brisco carry in their back pocket folded up all the time. I can't find any anywhere on the internet and I was wondering if you know where I can find one, either on or off the internet.

You can't find those anywhere on the internet. Can you imagine the chaos if one of those EVER got out?!

two questions
1) what is the madison square garden incident that is mentioned in several bio's, please clarify that for me
2) How did the Dynamite Kid become wheel chair prone
3)Where is Big John Stuff and the Slickster
4)Is Rajah really a ladies man ?

Best site on the net , the staff does a great job kudo's from a personal friend of Rajah's , notorious D.I.N.K
ps. ask rajah about his donkey and tequilla

1)The MSG incident is where all members of the Kliq (HBK, Nash, HHH, Razor, X-Pac) broke kayfabe and embraced in the ring after a Shawn-Diesel match. Razor and Diesel were leaving for WCW and I guess they just decided like they need a hug in front of all the fans. The only problem: "good guys" don't hug "bad guys" in front of the audience.
2) I'm not exactly sure, but I'm guessing he injured himself in the wrong somehow. Perhaps, more information is available at his official site, located at DynamiteKid.com.
3) I believe you are referring to Big John Studd. If you are, he passed away after a battle with Hodgkin's Disease. Slick is rarely active in the wrestling scene and is a practising minister.
4) Damn straight, I'm a ladies' man. You should know that better than any of these guys! [The guy who sent this is an old friend of mine from high school.]

Yeah Rajah, What about the donkey and tequila, huh?
No comment. Let's just say I like Tequilla and due to a certain incident during the high school years, it was made into a big deal by my friends. In a friendly way of course. It went so far that I actually said "Areeeba" during my valedictory address at grad (a la Tito Santana) to make everyone happy. Sure EVERYONE went nuts, but it was a bit awkward doing it infront of like 1000 people just for my so called friends! Heh.

Obviously with the schedule WWF and WCW are running each year, there is a great deal of traveling to be done, and alot of $ spent on it. I was wondering if the promotions pay for travel expenses(hotel, airfare, etc.), or if the wrestlers pay out-of-pocket to go from city to city?

I'm fairly sure the promotions pay for all the travel expenses, including airfare and accomodations. However, anything "extra" that the stars partake in during their stay comes out of their pocket. The WWF flies most of their stars in economy class if it is a cross-national flight. I remember a earlier in 1999, there was a huge fuss when the WWF started flying Debra first-class (with Austin). Many other stars were legitimately upset.

Do you know if there are any good wrestling schools in England and if so where?

I don't think there are any wrestling schools in England, but then again I wouldn't know for sure. Most of the schools are based in the US and some in Canada. If the British Bulldog has no school in England, I don't think anyone would.

Usually I can defend the programming pretty well, explaining that the saturday and sunday shows are "rated" lower and censered, and that Raw isnt shown intil late night, on cable, and with the higest rating allowable for TV. But one of my coworkers the other day made an EXTREMELY valid point: the WWF DOES NOT screen who ATTENDS the live events! Ive seen many live shows, and they are generally beer laden, and most importantly completely unedited, with ALOT of young kids, often without parents, running around. I remember one time here in Binghamton HHH taunted a girl in the crowd to flash her top on Raw. . . and they put it RIGHT on the titantron! Right to my left was a row of five fourteen year olds who walked over and bought tickets on their own and saw the whole thing! What is preventing a twelve year old kid from attending a live event on his own, and generally getting a COMPLETELY unscreened show? NOTHING. Why doesnt the WWF rate the live events R like in the movies, disallowing youngsters from attending WITHOUT a parent? After the "outrage" from the Miss Kitty incident, I think maybe the WWF should consider doing this, especially if they want to continue doing things like that in the future.
The sad truth is this will never happen because it would most likely cost Vince a great deal at the gate.
keep up the good work raj, i check out some of the other wrestling sites (wrestlezone, etc) and your commentary blows their stuff away.

Thanks for the comments at the end. Basically, the way I look at it, a 14 or 15 year old kid (or younger) shouldn't even be at an arena show by themselves or without their parents' permission. To me, it is the parents' responsibility to gauge whether it is acceptable for their child to attend such events either with them, with their friends or by themselves. It is a bit far-fetched to expect any wrestling promotion to cater to ALL the needs of all the wrestling fans. An "R" rated show would hurt the many youngsters who are responsible and who are mature enough to digest the WWF's content. So I guess in a nutshell, I am saying it would be to generalized.

The RAW font? You mean on the banner? If so, please contact the Plasma Cat at david@rajah.com. He's the one who is fully responsible for almost all the graphics on the site.

is there anywhere on the site that tells about the wrestlers personal life or if he/she is married, or has kids or anything? if there isnt, has it ever been considered? im just curious because on saturday, december 18, i saw 'badd ass' billy gunn at legoland, ca (where i am currently employed) with a few kids and a woman i am guessing is his signifigant other. i retrieved his autograph (he was very kind about giving it), and was even wearing a legoland sweater. anyways, i was just curious about his family, and who those people were with him. any information would help.
thanks for your time and patience, and keep up the good work on the page.

No, I haven't really considered that since the information needed for such a section would be extremely difficult to find. Furthermore, it would pry into the personal lives of the wrestlers, and I don't really want to do that and earn a bad rep with them. So I just focus more on their in-ring characteristics and leave the personal stuff out as much as possible. As for Mr. Ass, yes he is married with kids, so I'm assuming it was them that you saw. His family recently attended a RAW is WAR broadcast and were caught on tape, so maybe you can take a look at that and compare.

Well, I am a closet fan, and have been for awhile. My comment is this, if the WWF continues with the current HHH/STEPH angle, I will not only join the PTC, I will be its Southern California president. In the past, Austin had one night of fun, and vince and shane had a night to get even, but this has gone to far. I just saw the first ever topless, topr rope match, and it was completely ridiculous. I would love to see both Terri and BB nude, but if THEY wanted to be seen, not as a result of the current WWF angle. No wonder the stock is dropping like a stone.

I don't know you haven't noticed, but the WWF has toned down its product considerably and the effects have not really negatively affected them yet. The fans want an entertaining product and the WWF's main objective is to provide that for its audience, despite what the PTC or any other organization says. The popular and dominant opinion is that the Steph/HHH angle has been a good one for the WWF and interest level in it is at a high.
