| rajah.com Mailbag -By Kayfabe and Rajah |
Alright, I have re-opened the Mailbag section with the help of two individuals, Kayfabe and Grandpa. Hopefully, it will work out better this time, as the above individuals will handle the great BULK of the emails.
Here are the steps to take if you like your question answered in the Mailbag section:
1. Please check to see that your question(s) have not been answered on any other sections of the page. Take great note of the FAQ Part I and FAQ Part II as well as the mailbag archives at the bottom of the page. .
2. Send a legibly written question or comment to mailbag@rajah.com. Please limit yourself to only one question per person per email. This allows us to update the mailbag more frequently.
3. ALL email sent there may potentially be included in the Mailbag. If you do not want your response posted, do NOT send it there!
4. If a name is included, I will post it along with the email. If you do not want your name published, do NOT write it!
5. Remember, it is impossible that every email I receive get posted on this page. Only the best and most popular questions/comments will likely make it on.
6. Also remember, that questions will be answered by either Kayfabe or Rajah, so any personal remarks should be addressed accordingly. The following color scheme will be used:Rajah - GREEN
Kayfabe - YELLOW

i dont quite get al snow's new angle and i'm not only talking about him teaming
up with steve blackman. he seems just like a normal wrestler with no angle at all i think that the
head angle was good and extremely interesting what do you think about snow's angle that seems to go nowhere without
blackman?
I don't think it's hard to see that Al Snow has taken a tremendous step back in his carreer from where he was a couple of short months ago. Snow had been embroiled in a rivalry with the Rock and Mankind, but when Triple H took over and stuck his (large) nose in Mick's business, it left Al relatively angleless. Starting a few months ago, the WWF began throwing together seemingly random tag teams such as D'Lo Brown and The Godfather, Crash Holly and Viscera, and, of course, Al Snow and Steve Blackman. To me it doesn't make a lot of sense given the already tremendously deep Tag Team Division. But nevertheless, it was done. To me, HeadCheese does a couple of things. One, it finally gives Steve Blackman an angle which we all know he was in dire need of. Two, it makes for some comedic situations. So Blackman benefits, and the fans benfeit, but Al Snow sure as hell does not. Al has already won the Tag Team Titles albeit a short reign; now he should be going after singles glory. Al would make an exce
llent contender for the Intercontinental Title. Instead his talents are being wasted in a tag team destined to go nowhere. I do however like his new ring attire.

Hi.
First off, all the usual stuff. This is the best wrestling web site
etcetcetc. I believe this, but it must get monotanus. Well, this is my
question.
Do you really think that Rock or Austin will never win the euro belt to
become traditonal grand slam title holders? Before you just didmiss this as
you have done before, let us look at the only grand slam champ thus far,
HBK. HBK became a grand slam winner by defeating Brit Bulldog at English IYH
97, and winning the EURO belt. If HBK can do this, as a heel, and go on
later in the year to hold both it and the world title for a while, why can't
Austin as a heel when he comes back (though I doubt this. Why is he telling
everyone that he is becoming a heel? Why not just do it. It smells fishy to
me, but then i'm just paranoid.) or the Rock at a later date do it? I can
see both of them at some point doing it.
Thank you, and good night.
Anything's possible, but I seriously doubt it. It just wouldn't have much of a purpose. When Michaels won it, the European Title was in its beginnings and Shawn Michaels helped get it over and establish it as a major Championship. Right now, the Title is holding its own and has been around long enough that it doesn't need a facelift. It would be relatively pointless for a superstar on the level of the Rock or Austin to pursue it. Think about it: why would the WWF want to associate their two top stars with a belt that the likes of Mideon has held?

Dear whoever,
Just one question for you:
WILL BRUTUS "THE BARBER" BEEFCAKE EVER GRACE THE
WWF AGAIN, IN ANY FORM OR NAME ?
Oh, and p.s. How about a Brutus Wallpaper? Afterall he was the best wrestler never to win the WWF title.
Cheers my American friends
Do NOT hold your breath.

Hey ive got a question that really been bugging me.
If Y2J Chris Jericho's real name is Christopher Irvine, how does he hold to rights to use that name in the WWF. Is WCW the
ones that made up his Jericho name? And if so hypotheticaly speaking as i believe it will never happen, If Shawn Michels was
to go to the WCW, would he be able to use his Shawn Michaels persona as it is really not his true name.
Jericho wrestled under that name long before he came to WCW. He used it in Japan and ECW. As for Shawn Michaels, it's hard to say what his situation would be since every wrestler is different. Trademarks for different individuals vary. If the WWF has the name Shawn Michaels copyrighted then he wouldn't be able to use it in WCW, but if it's his he would be.

Hi. Is there a possibility that the European strap could be changed to
Canadian Champion considering the influx of Canadian talents like Test, Val
Venis, Y2J, Benoit, J. Legend, Edge, and Christian???
THanks
The name of the Title doesn't really matter. There has been talk before of the WWF introducing a Canadian Belt, but it hasn't materialized. But it seems to me that it seems to be that changing the Title's name to represent Canada would only limit the WWF's options. If it were solely a "Canadian Title" because of the number of WWF Canadian wrestlers, then would that mean only Canadian's could win it? If so it would limit any potential of the Title, and if not, why bother with the name change?

Well, things got a little hectic at the rest home for awhile, but have no fear. Grandpa has not vanished by any stretch.

OK, I like Kurt Angle, I admit it. He's fairly good on the mic and
has some good wrestling skills. I go to the same high school that he
did, too: Mt. Lebanon(go Lebo!) Do you think he will have a title reign
sometime in the near future? I think he could be a good European
Champion.
Kurt Angle is quickly becoming my favorite wrestler in the WWF. He has terrific wrestling ability, and to me he is just about the most entertaining mic man there is. Kurt Angle will be a star before long in the WWF and I think the European Title would be a good place to start. I'd expect to see Kurt get a few decent European or even Intercontinental Championship shots in the near future.

Hey Rajah Kayfabe and Gramps,

Yes, same person.

Hey Raj, I got a question for ya.
I heard that Steve Blackman was with the wwf in the 1980s is this true?
Please Answer!!
Not true. And thanks for making this a memorable occasion. This has gotta be the first time we've gotten two questions concerning Steve Blackman in one issue.

Hey, why has the WWF been breaking kayfabe so much? I mean, with Austin
announcing his engagement with Debra, and some interviews here and
there...why so much Kayfabe breaking?
I know, right? They shouldn't be breaking Kayfabe, they should be hiring him. Seriously though, I agree with you. I guess it's all part of the WWF's "non-intelligence insulting era". They're attempting to give away as much real information as possible. I don't mind the Austin/Debra thing so much, but when they started referring to the Undertaker as "Mark" last winter, well that's downright unforgivable!

I was watching one of the rocky movies and i noticed that hulk hogan played a
wrestler called thunder hips. Just thought you would like to know.
What exactly did I just say?
Let me go on record right now as saying, "Rocky sucks."...

i'm confussed,i mean heat's taped before smackdown write...so why are the
anoucers talking about smackdown in detail...could you please answer this
and put it the mailbag..keep up the great site
The announcers for Heat often record their commentary in a studio later in the week after Smackdown is taped. They announce the matches and then their audio is recorded along with the video.

Hey guys, I heard the WCW was going tto copy the WWF and bring in four new
radicals of their own: Doink and Dink the Clowns, Duane Gill, and the
Brooklyn Brawler and call them "They absolutely suck" . Any truth to this
rumor?
No truth whatsoever.
From: PKacera28
Who do you think deserves the biggest push right now? I personally think
that Gangrel, Val Venis, and Kane deserve it. Gangrel and Val Venis are
basically getting no where and Kane has fallen from a Main-eventer to a high
mid-carder and now maybe a low mid-carder. Maybe push Gangrel and Val Venis
as heel I-C contenders and get Kane back into the Main Event picture and get
him back as the kick ass, Big Red Machine.
It's hard to say. Depends on which level you're talking about. In the tag team picture, I'd definitely like to see Too Cool and Edge and Christian be pushed. I think Kurt Angle should continue to rise in the ranks as he has been doing thus far. Prince Albert and Stevie Richards are two guys that I think should be given more air time (when Stevie is healthy of course). I also wish guys like Al Snow and Billy Gunn would be given singles pushes. Both would make terrific Intercontinental Champions.

Great site, I go to it every day. I have a question regarding Mick Foley.
Why don't they just retire him from wrestling and make him commisioner. I
mean, he doesn't wrestle on Raw or Smackdown barely ever, and considering
that Shawn Micheals has done so little for the WWF during his time as
commish, I think that Foley as commish spells success. Oh yeah, and at
Summerslam 99, why was Foley brought into the main event in such a hurry? Did
Austin really not want to do a clean job to HHH? And just thought I'd
mention that I just bought tickets to the Smackdown tapings in Milwaukee, and
it's going to be my first live event!!!! Thanks for your time!!!!!!
First of all, "they" will never retire Mick Foley from wrestling. When he finally decides to hang 'em up, it will be Mick's decision and no one elses. Nobody ever said Mick won't be thrown into a commisioner's role upon his retirement, but he has to retire first. And that's probably another couple months off. As for the Summerslam question, that is the rumor.
From: Gpac2001
I read in the Bret Hart Screwjob article that Mick Foley was so outraged he
left the stadium and went home. How did he reconcile with Vince McMahon and
mantain the relationship he has with him now? Triple H simply hugged his
friends and he was put on jobbing duty for a year! What Mankind did would be
much more extreme in the eyes of McMahon. Thanks
Foley commented on this in his book, and if I remember correctly it was Jim Ross that contacted Foley and explained Vince's side of the story to Mick. He told Foley that Vince had to do what he had to do for his company, and Mick realized that Vince did what he felt he had to do in the best interest of the company. Afterwards, Foley returned and wasn't severely punished. Triple H's situation was different. He did something that the WWF suits deemed unprofessional and harmful to the company without valid reason. That was the reason for his (harsh) punishment.

How do they plan out the royal rumble match itself cause i think the
wrestlers trying to remember who eliminates who might be hard for those guys?
Pat Patterson was in charge of most of the spots of this years' Rumble match. Basically, there are only a few key spots to go through in each Rumble. Not every single elimanation is planned out in detail although each wrestler knows about how long he is supposed to go in advance. There are only a few spots that are very important, those being impressive dominating moments (a la Diesel in 1994, Phatu in 2000) and of course, the end. Also, rivals often times go at it (Savage/Snake in 1992). Other than these few types of spots, the rest does not have to be heavily pre-determined.
From: Dennis Fletcher
What was the very FIRST incident that happened where Shawn knew he had a
major back problem. Wasn't it Royal Rumble 98?
Yes, those were the first indications that Shawn had a serious back injury.
From: vincep
Do you see Chris Benoit winning the title anytime soon?
Not at all. It simply wouldn't fit into the WWF's scheme right now.
From: Brian
If Chris Jericho is susposed to be getting primed for main event status why
does he seem to either lose or need outside help from Chyna in almost every
match? It seems as though he is always taking a step back. I feel he needs
some clean wins against someone who is not named Gangrel.
I wholeheartedly agree with you. It just does not make sense that this Chyna angle has been prolonged for as long as it has. I feel that Jericho should be successfully defending his Intercontinental Title against such top competitors as Al Snow, X-Pac, Billy Gunn, Val Venis, etc. Clean wins are a problem in general in the WWF today as everyone apparently feels that we need to see interference in order to justify just about every win. That shouldn't be the case, but unfortunately it is.
From: Lisa
I love this site and come here everday i was just wondering if there was ever a match where one of the wrestlers lost his cool
and ended up seriously hurting his oppenet thanx man keep up the good work
Oh sure. It's happened numerous times. Often times a wrestler will get caught up in the heat of the battle and put an extra little something into their punches. I don't know about serious injuries, but there have been reports of several different matches over the years turning into near-shoot matches as a result of one or both participants losing their cool. This is a rarity though, as all wrestlers are professionals, and usually take their professionalism seriously enough to refrain from doing something like that.
From: Char
I love your site and continue to come back often. Mine is not a question, but a comment. How come you don't have a
women's point of view on wrestling. I feel that is the only thing missing on here. We ladies love wrestling as well. Some of
us have opinions on it without the constant..."this guy is hot" or "this woman is sleazy" attitude.
What about Jana? Did her views not count as those of a woman's?
From: MRCOLD5
hi, gret site, here is my question, will the wwf and ecw join to form company
the EWF, i dpoupt it but will it ever, forget the name
Won't happen. It just doesn't make sense. Why would Vince McMahon ever want to do that? He has more than enough money and his product is doing unbelievably well on its own. If it ever does happen, though, you can sure as hell bet that it will be Vince buying out ECW much like the WWF has done with many small promotions in the past; it would be far from a partnership. But for now even that is crazy talk. Nothing of the sort seems feasible for the time being.
From: HariprasadTaurus
Who do you see as the real future of the WWF? Personally, I think Edge, the
Hardyz, and Jericho will be huge in about a year. Jericho already is way
over, but he needs to get that heavyweight championship around his waist. Of
course, I also think the Rock will become, without a doubt, the greatest
superstar of all time...what do you think? Anyways, great site, I've become a
regular visitor.
They are all a huge part of the future in the WWF. The Rock and Triple H are cornerstones and Jericho seems to be the next big thing. It's funny how you don't include Christian in with the likes of Edge and the Hardys. Why not? He's just as talented as Edge. They're both great wrestlers and Christian is even more arially skilled. From what little time they've spent on the mic, I think they've proven to be equals. So what does Edge have that Christian doesn't? You tell me. Oh yeah, and other stars to think about for the future are Test, Val Venis, D'Lo Brown, etc. All those guys are extremely talented.
From: CC5740
Is Kurt Angle Really a former Olympic Gold Medalist?
Yes.
From: Joe
Do you think D'Lo Brown will ever get a push? He's a very talented young wrestler, and I believe the WWF is misusing him by teaming him with the Godafather. Thanx, your site rulz!
His day will come. I too think he is being misused, but that's what happens when the talent roster becomes as deep as it is right now. With so many big names, some guys are pushed down a notch and a few unlikely tag teams are created as to get everyone their deserving air-time. I predict big things in the future for D'Lo. He has time; he's still young.
