| rajah.com Mailbag -By Kayfabe and Rajah |
Alright, I have re-opened the Mailbag section with the help of two individuals, Kayfabe and Grandpa. Hopefully, it will work out better this time, as the above individuals will handle the great BULK of the emails.
Here are the steps to take if you like your question answered in the Mailbag section:
1. Please check to see that your question(s) have not been answered on any other sections of the page. Take great note of the FAQ Part I and FAQ Part II as well as the mailbag archives at the bottom of the page. .
2. Send a legibly written question or comment to mailbag@rajah.com. Please limit yourself to only one question per person per email. This allows us to update the mailbag more frequently.
3. ALL email sent there may potentially be included in the Mailbag. If you do not want your response posted, do NOT send it there!
4. If a name is included, I will post it along with the email. If you do not want your name published, do NOT write it!
5. Remember, it is impossible that every email I receive get posted on this page. Only the best and most popular questions/comments will likely make it on.
6. Also remember, that questions will be answered by either Kayfabe or Rajah, so any personal remarks should be addressed accordingly. The following color scheme will be used:Rajah - GREEN
Kayfabe - YELLOW

I know you said that you would never talk about again but I was curious if
the famous MSG incident was a televised event or just a house show? I would
greatly appreciate you answering this, your site rocks
House show. And if anyone else has any questions this incident, read this and scroll down to number five.

When (if) Ken Shamrock returns to the wwf dp you think he will get a main event push??? Looking back at his wwf career he was
possibly the most "over" wwf wrestler in late 97 and early 98 and he lost most of his heat with his heel turn.I think he has brilliant in ring
skills and the only think letting him down is his mic skills. What do you think???
Shamrock probably would be at a higher status had he not been injured when he was. If he had been committed to the WWF and hadn't been planning to leave to go to the UFC, I think there's no doubt that he'd be a high midcarder, with the likes of Rikishi. In fact, with Shammy around, Rikishi may not be having the success he is enjoying right now, since Shammy might have already been in that 'slot'. No one knows what will happen to Shamrock upon his return. Since we've seen him last, the WWF has added a significant amount of talented wrestlers to their roster. With Shammy added back onto the list, there just might be too much going on to put him at "Main Event Status". Unfortunately, he might get lost in the shuffle.

Dear Rajah,
I was wondering if you knew what Prince Alberts finishing
manuver is? By the way why dosn't Prince Albert cary around his piercing kit
to the ring anymore? Could you please answer me by email or post it on the mailbag? Thanx alot!
He uses the TKO as his finisher. He doesn't carry his piercing kit to the ring anymore because they are trying to separate him from his gimmick a little bit. He won't have any success in the long run as a body piercer, so they're shifting away from that direction.

Hey,
Im not gonna blabber on about how Rjah has such a great site, I'm sure he gets tired of it. Any way, do you know if any
wrestlers take stuff that increases muscle mass besides steroids?? ex. Creatine
It all depends on who the wrestler is. I'm sure some of them use supplements, but nothing has been reported about Creatine being used by wrestlers. With all the controversy on the stuff, I'm sure that by now some reporter would has picked up on the potential of a story like this and done a little research. We haven't heard anything yet, so what does that say?

In your last mailbag, one of you said the Hardcore title was useless. Let me
point out that Bob Holly had a fantastic year in '99 after winning the
Hardcore title, thus allowing him to shed the Spark Plug persona and become
Hardcore Holly, complete with sidekick, tag title reign, Wrestlemania
appearance, King of the Ring entry and feud with the Big Show. Do you think
Spark Plug would last into the new millennium? No. What they need to do is
bring some actual contenders into the Hardcore division, like last year when
they had Al Snow, Hardcore Holly, Road Dogg, and Bossman. I think Gangrel
and Midian would be willing to hurt themselves for airtime, so why not have
them? And what about Blue Meanie? I can picture him retaining it for a few
months.
Also, they should tone down the violence in other matches on the PPVs. Not because people complain, but because then the Hardcore matches look weak by comparison. If you look at the Ladder Match at No Mercy and the title match at Royal Rumble, how can you expect Test and Bossman get the same fan response without going even further? And this belt is supposed to be fought over in such a manner on a semi-regular basis. The same few people can't do such a thing every time they go out.
If they put some actual thought into revamping the Hardcore title, the WWF can probably make it an independent title worth going after.
Have a nice day.
Point taken. But that same image can't work for everyone. I'm with you; put some wrestlers like Gangrel, Mideon, The Meanie, and even an established guy like the Road Dogg. But even then, in order for it to be successful, it has to actually be regularly contested. That works for awhile, but sooner or later I've gotta believe that fans will get a little tired of the same old standard "Hardcore Matches". There's only so much of the same thing we can take.

Just found your site...it rules, as everyone knows! Question: Just read that Randy Savage's contract with WCW expired in
January...will he return to WWF? Also, I was wondering (in spite of your one question limit) What happened to LOD? Thanks!
The WWF has said they have no interest in Savage. Even though I like Savage, and wouldn't mind seeing him back in maybe, say, a commentating role, I don't think he'd fit in with the WWF right now. The roster is already overloaded and Savage is past his prime.

A couple of years ago, when HBK passed out in the ring and the WWF said
he got beat up by a bunch of thugs, what really happened? Thanks! Love the Site!!!!
I think you have two separate incidents confused. In October 1995, Shawn Michaels really was beaten up in Syracuse, New York and was breifly hospitalized. He was put out of action for a few weeks and forefeited his Intercontinental Title to Shane Douglas (who in turn lost it to Razor Ramon the same night). HBK eventually recovered, and entered and won the 1996 Royal Rumble to earn a shot at WWF Champion Bret Hart at Wrestlemania XII. But before going on to Wrestlemania, he engaged in a feud with Owen Hart, who wanted Michaels' Title Shot. During a match between the two on Monday Night RAW, Owen hit Shawn with an Enziguri to the back of the head, and Michaels collapsed, apparently out cold. Paramedics came down and took him away in what looked to be a very real situation. In reality though, it was a well planned work. I don't think the events were connected in any way, unless the WWF tried to play off his collapse as if it was as a result of the injuries sustained at the hands of the thugs weeks
earlier. To be honest with you, I don't remember.

Hey raj, great site. Before my question i'd like to point out
that we here in the UK get heat shown on the telly before the
us... it's shown about 4 ish our time, that equates to 11am eastern
i think... that's probably a first for any tv show ever.
Personally I think the WWF is in a great state at the moment, the champions deserve to be where they are except Test, that hardcore belt should go to someone like Gangrel or the Road Dogg, even al snow or either holly, test should be going for the ic but that's besides the point, my question is this: is kurt angle his EXACT real name? just in my '97 guinness book of records it lists the 96 medal winners from the olympics and the 100kg freestyle wrestling gold medallist is listed as kurt angel. is this a typo or did the wwf change the name?
l8r,
ps: how about gillberg vs. brooklyn brawler at wrestlemania as a loser is the worst wrestler ever match?
I've heard from more than one reliable source that his real name is actually Kirk Angel, and I'm not saying that this pathetic attempt at a joke isn't going anywhere... but I can't think of a way to finish this sentence. There. Actually, I think you've got a typo on your hands; his real name is indeed Kurt Angle.

I have three reasons why Edge is usually regarded as a senior talent to
Christian. First off, he seems to be a lot more charismatic and usually more
energetic, thus receiving a larger reaction from the fans and becoming more
popular. Secondly, he has a good size advantage over Christian, which would
probably allow him to go a lot further in the WWF. Another one that actually
isn't extremely important at all is that Edge just has the look of a
champion, whether it be Euro, IC, World (which I'd love to see sometime in
the maybe-not-so-soon-but-not-so-far-away-either future), and of course Tag
Team. As much as I'd like to see Christian become the World Champion (there
are a lot of people who I'd like to see win the belt, even if they don't
exactly have everything it takes), I just don't see it happening. But when
it comes to talent, Christian is no doubt the more aerially skilled of the
two and definitely every bit as good as Edge. I'm not ready to say that he's
better just yet, though.
Oh I know very well why Edge is regarded as better than Christian; I just don't like it. People say he is more charismatic, but I just don't see it. I like both guys, but it kind of irks me that Christian is usually brushed off as a jobber, yet his seemingly equal is supposedly a future WWF Heavyweight Champion. It just seems fishy to me. I wouldn't make much of the size advantage considering they're about the same in that aspect as well. Edge looks like a Champion; I'll give you that. But Christian can look like a Champ too. I was looking at him on RAW recently and they had a close up shot of his profile... let me tell ya: With that nose and that hair, he's got a little bit of a Triple H thing going on. And we all know Triple H has the look of a Champion. Ah, but I digress. They're both great. Let's just watch BOTH of them shine, hopefully for years to come.

Hey Raj and 'Fabe!
Its me, Joe, back with my correction/question of the...uh...day?
Correction (or maybe just a mistake by yours truly): I could''ve SWORN Steve Blackman was in the WWF in the 80s, more specifically, 1989.. See, I've read the WWF themselves actually say that, I HAVE seen a picture of Blackman SMILING in '89 (he had long hair as well), but he was never a major star, in fact the only TV appearences he made were on Superstars of Wrestling (as it was then known) and Wrestling Challenge. Maybe there's a small chance I'm wrong, but I doubt it...
Question/Comment: I, like many, am totally SICK of the Jericho-Chyna angle...Why?? WHY? Here's why...
1)Jericho was only brought into this to take the place of the recently departed Jeff Jarrett in October '99...
2)Its been GOING ON since October '99
3)Jericho got/gets a much bigger response with the IC Title than Chyna could ever dream of times 10 even with a CHERRY on TOP!
4)The above points simply prove that the only way to keep Chyna over is to keep her with someone already over. (who, I might add, was over since he first debuted in the WWF)
One more thing...to prove how 'un-over' Chyna was/is, don't you think that she, inadvertantly, of course, turned Jericho face simply because she sucked? Not as an athlete, but as a wrestler (like I've said, a punch, kick, DDT, occaisonal rana, and lowblowing Mick Foley 47 times), she just doesn't cut it with me, although in his heyday, Austin actually did less...lol)...Also, when she speaks, she sounds like a nagging housewife...Kind of a cross between Debra, with the annoyance of Hulk Hogan, and the style of Faaaaaaarrrrrrrrroooooooqqqqqqqq ( I THINK that's how its spelled)...
PS, Have you ever heard of Scott Keith?
Later
I agree with everything you said about the Jericho/Chyna saga. I've never been a big fan of Chyna and I'm sick of seeing them together every single week. It's time to move on; She's holding Y2J back! You gave some great reasons to back up your argument but you forgot the most obvious one... Her music ABSOLUTELY SUCKS!
You're correct about Blackman; a few others have sent in similar comments. I guess I'll take your word for it though I personally don't remember it. He certainly didn't amount to anything; that's for sure.

You wanted to know how long jeff jarret has a WCW contract for it is until
Fall 2002
Thank you. In that case, I'll go out on a limb and make a little prediction: Wrestlemania XIX, WWF Title Match: Chris Jericho vs. Jeff Jarrett. How's that sound? Huh? What about it?

Hi Rajah & Kayfabe, great site! I was watching a tape of Summerslam '91 the other day, and I swore I saw Ken Shamrock. He
was in the first match, it was a 3 on 3 tag team match. I forgot who his partners were, but apparently he was a heel. I just
wanted to know if it was really Ken Shamrock. Oh, one more question, I want to know where Repo Man is, I remember him
from when I was about six years old.
Wasn't Shamrock. The opening match at Summerslam '91 in Madison Square Garden pitted Ricky Steamboat, The Texas Tornado, and The British Bulldog against Paul Roma and Hercules (Power & Glory), and The Warlord. The latter team was comprised of heels. Not sure who you mistook for Shammy; I guess it might be Roma but nobody in that match really resembles Shamrock all that much.

I was reading the last edition of the mailbag, and people are always talking
about the guys they think should have pushes. My theory is the WWF can only
push so many guys, because right now it seems they have more guys than ever.
That means to many guys equals some guys getting fired such as Viscera,
Mideon, Stevie Richards, Blue Meanie, Headbangers and many more.
Definitely. Most people don't realize this, but it only makes sense. We've seen guys like Test, Val Venis, The Big Boss Man, Prince Albert, etc. get somewhat demoted as a result of the huge roster the WWF has taken on. There's only room for a certain amount of guys to be successful. The others have to put them over, and those below them have to fill out the lesser TV shows. The lowest level of guys will probably end up getting shafted. The WWF has to be smart in the way they rotate their wrestlers around. Notice that just about every match on RAW and Smackdown! nowadays is a Tag Team Match. There's a reason for that. With only so much TV time, they are trying to get as many people as much air-time as possible. Needless to say, it can be a difficult task. I just hope the WWF doesn't fall into the "WCW Problem" of signing on too much talent. I would certainly hope they wouldn't, but then again I have confidence that Vince & Co. know exactly what they're doing.
From: Adam
Hi i had a question about the Rock. Why isit that The Rock does not seem to be main eventing much on raw or smackdown anymore. this is wierd cuz
he is the WWF's top wrestler and most popular?. Instead he just wrestles at the end of the first hour. WHy? U guys rule, thanks.
Like I said, people are rotated. The Rock is usually involved at the end of a TV show, but thus far this year the three WWF Champions and Top Contenders have been The Big Show, Triple H, and Mick Foley. The Rock will get his time. And remember this, the Main Event isn't always the last match. Anyway, as of this writing just prior to No Way Out, the Rock has been in the last match on 11 out of 16 TV Shows (RAW and Smackdown only). Sounds like a pretty good percentage to me.

Hey, you guys are doing a bang up job over there. Just like to say that the Undertaker has been, and still is, my favourite wrestler of all
time. I've always liked him as a face rather than a heel though. Rumours suggest he will return as a face.......but how do you guys think he'll
fit in to story lines? I'd personally love to see him come back when all the faces of the WWF are in crisis. They are all being beaten down
by the heals, it all looks grim. But then the lights fade, his music hits, and the Undertaker cleans house like the good ol' days. Sends a chill
down my spine i tells ya!!
Kane and The Big Show are rumored to start an angle not too long from now. It's conceivable that Taker could at one point come to his brother's rescue and start a feud with The Big Show himself but that's just specualtion. Regardless, I do think that The Undertaker will return as a face.
From: Colt Herrera
Hey guys I'll be quick, not really any questions just suggestions, WWF push D'lo and X-Pac, I mean X-Pac is the youngest
and one of the oldest WWF veterans there are but yet HHH is the champ instead of him! Dont get me wrong I don't particullarly
like X-Pac, in fact in the past mail bags I've called him Fag-Pac, but that doesn't matter, also get D'lo up he's one kick ass bro!
And a side note for the WCW, the reason why they dominated most of the time threw there early years was because they
were new and stole the WWF's idea's, but in late 97 and early 98 Vince changed the rules of wrestling program, well Ted Turner
should take charge of WCW and become a face or heel in there, I mean wouldn't you love to see ole Teddy get wacked in the
head by a guitar? And the WCW needs to push more liked wrestlers like Goldberg maybe? Flair still has something left, Hogan
should've retired when Malone kicked his tanned ass, (sidenote Jazz rule!). But WCW needs to get rid of there cornball ideas
like the Mamalukes snore & bore fest! I mean get out of the 80's and into the 21st Century! There worst mistake ever was letting
Benoit go, like Lawler said on a Smackdown program that Benoit was the only one in Turnerland that had the potential to be the
Champion, and he was right! I mean I became a full time wrestler watcher a year ago and the only reason why I watched WCW
was because the first match I ever watched was Benoit\Malenko fight a tag team cage match on Thunder main event, ever since
then I was hooked to the Crippler and Iceman and until now WCW.
Plus the WWF did a wise decision bringing in the radicals in as heels because not many WWF fans would except Benoit
pinning or making the Rock submit especially being a newcomer, although I would. I mean Benoit has as much or more talent
ability and potental to be a WWF champ than Rock ever will be, but because of Rocks mic skills and kick ass attitude and
fighting combined there's no stopping that. Plus why did HHH ever get the Heavyweight title before any one else?
He has some good moves and the bet finisher move the pedigree but I mean to me it seemed one week he was being beaten by
a jobber the next week he beat the top stars in the company!
Sorry about the long letter now it probably won't be in mailbag, but if you have room can you put it in? Thanks.
P.S. Keep up great work guy's! Best site on the net that i've been to.
Like I was talking about before, there are only so many guys that can be pushed at once. Your other comments are valid, but you have to respect Triple H. The guy is a great worker and there's a reason he's on top.

Hey Raj, thanks for a great wwf site. Just a few questions... Will we ever see Akeem/OneManGang back in the wwf? and What is happening with the British Bulldog in the wwf right now, hes hardly ever on tv anymore, is he through with the federation?
The Bulldog is back on TV; he had been sidelined with a back injury. It's doubtful that The Gang will ever return. He's up there in age, adn weight, two things the WWF seems to look down on.

Can we please get an organized attempt to get rid of
the New Age Outlaws??? I know I am not the only one
that is sick as hell of the "Oh you didn't know, I say
the same thing every damn show." Thank christ I see
they are going to fight the Dudley's at No Way Out.
Their time is long gone and with all the good new
teams in the federation it's time to get rid of them
as a team. The only fitting punishment is for them to
feud and beat the living crap out of each other. "You
damn right, I may think of something new to say but
not tonight." Get rid of the outlaws!!!!!
I think they should split but we don't need to see them feud again. That's been done before. Just have them go their seperate ways. Billy Gunn would make an excellent Intercontinental Title contender, in my opinion.
From: Greg Cappel
It seems to me that the WWF might have TOO many main event guys. With Rock,
Big Show, Rikishi, HHH, Kane, SCSA and Undertaker whenever they return
already at main event status, and with Y2J, Kurt Angle, Tazz, Benoit, Edge,
and Test supposed to be getting pushes to main event status, will there be
enough of the title to go around? That's 13 guys, all of whom will be going
for one title. That's an impressive lineup, but is there really enough
airtime to keep all of them happy? I would be interested in you guys'
thoughts on the situation. Keep up the great work!
The term "Main Event Status" is so overrated. Who says Rikishi is currently a main eventer? Even Kane? When's the last time you saw them in a Main Event at a Pay Per View? Case closed. With the exception of Jericho, none of the other guys you mentioned among your future stars will be ready to go to the next level anytime soon. Everyone deserving will have their time but there's no rush with the younger guys especially.

more..........
Once again, I stand corrected. If you can find more, go ahead and send it in.
