rajah.com Mailbag
-By Kayfabe and Rajah

Alright, I have re-opened the Mailbag section with the help of two individuals, Kayfabe and Grandpa. Hopefully, it will work out better this time, as the above individuals will handle the great BULK of the emails.

Here are the steps to take if you like your question answered in the Mailbag section:

1. Please check to see that your question(s) have not been answered on any other sections of the page. Take great note of the FAQ Part I and FAQ Part II as well as the mailbag archives at the bottom of the page. .
2. Send a legibly written question or comment to mailbag@rajah.com. Please limit yourself to only one question per person per email. This allows us to update the mailbag more frequently.
3. ALL email sent there may potentially be included in the Mailbag. If you do not want your response posted, do NOT send it there!
4. If a name is included, I will post it along with the email. If you do not want your name published, do NOT write it!
5. Remember, it is impossible that every email I receive get posted on this page. Only the best and most popular questions/comments will likely make it on.
6. Also remember, that questions will be answered by either Kayfabe or Rajah, so any personal remarks should be addressed accordingly. The following color scheme will be used:

Rajah - GREEN
Kayfabe - YELLOW

Hi my name is Terri and I really love your site! Rajah, you may want to try a light pink for your text because I also have a problem reading the dark green words. Whenever I usually have a black background I usually use a light pink text. It works rather well.

Who does he think he is, Bret Hart? Pink and black attack, baby!

From: Brandon "The Benoid Man" Matthews
Greetings, Rajah. My name is Brandon "The Benoid Man" Matthews. Before I get to the bulk of this message, allow me to tell you a bit about myself. I learned about your site a while before Wrestlemania 2000, and I've bin a loyal visitor every day since, because your site is truly excellent having everything a fan could EVER wish for. Someday I hope to be a columnist for your site, but you currently have no openings so I'm stuck for now.

In case you're wondering, Benoid is pronounced "buh-NOYD"

At any rate, enough chitchat. This whole "feud" between Jumpin' Jim and Todd Kelly got me thinking "I wonder what it would be like if the rajah.com staff had their own wrestling organization and PPVs? I entertained this notion until I decided to get your opinion. My hope is that you will find this so amusing that you post it in the mailbag, or if I'm EXTREMELY lucky, the updates board.

By this point you've either decided that this is a waste of time or extemely interesting. I'm hoping for the latter. At any rate, here's the whole schtick. The organization is called the RWF (Rajah Wrestling Federation) which you "own" (in kayfabe and real life, like Vince Mac). The Titles are all the same as in the WWF, and the wrestlers are your staff. They have angles and feuds just like regular wrestlers. So there's an upcoming PPV, and it's called RWF Cyberslam. This email will list all the matches and the feuds which have developed leading up to them in supposed "TV shows"

There is a stable in the RWF, headed by you, which is similar to the Mcmahon-Helmsleys in the sense that they control everything that goes on. This stable is called the Webmasters, and it's members consist of Rajah, Sawan, Kayfabe, JMac, Corporate Vinman, and Todd Kelly.

The current "champions" in the RWF leading up to Cyberslam are

World Champ: Rajah
Intercontinental Champ: Cleaveland Matt
Tag Team Champs: Sawan and Kayfabe
Light Heavyweight Champ: Weakner
Hardcore Champ: Mike HarDy
Women's Champ: Aree Jones

Yes, there is a reason I picked all those particular people. You'll read about it when I get to the angles part.

The Card for Cyberslam is"

World Title Match
Rajah vs. JMac

IC Title Match with No holds Barred
Cleveland Matt vs. Jamstar

Tag Team Title Match
Sawan and Kayfabe vs. Zach Weinberg and Jorgen Thue

Hardcore Title Match
Mike HarDy vs. Jayson Copeland

Light Heavyweight Title
Weakner vs. Corporate VinMan

Woman's Title Match
Aree Jones vs. Jennifer Stevens

Todd Kelly vs. Jumpin' Jim

That's it. I know, I know, you've got questions, like "Wait, I thought JMac and I were in the stable together, why are we feuding?" Like I said, there's an angle leading up to it. And now, I'll explain them.

On one of your past(nonexistent) TV programs, the Webmasters were in the ring doing there little schtick saying "we're the best" and stuff like that, when Weakner's music hits and he comes out, basically tells you to put up or shut up and challenges you to a match, non title. As you are the World Champ, and Weakner's just a light Heavyweight, you accept, confident this will be a snap. Later on the Match happens, and you come out with JMac. You gain an advantage over Weakner fairly quick and never lose it. You get ready to pin him, when JMac, secretly tired of taking orders from you, nails you with your own belt behind the ref's back and gets Weakner up. Weakner nails you with his finisher (whatever he wants it to be called) and pins you. JMac and Weakner celebrate, and you get pissed. JMac gets on the mic and calls you a loser or something to that effect and challenges you to a match at Cyberslam. You accept. Pissed at Weakner, you give your buddy VinMan a shot at him for the Light Heavyweight Belt.

Cleveland Matt, sort of a newcomer who rose to the IC champ quickly has a gimmick sort of like Stone Cold, mostly his mic skills and personality. Jamstar has a gimmick more like HBK's, kind of a flirt with the ladies, that sort of thing. Matt notices him and begins calling him a "pretty boy wuss" and crap like that at the announcer's table, interviews, and wherever else he can commentate at. Jamstar gets pissed and they start Jawjacking during one of their matches, ending with Matt costing Jamstar a victory. Matt kicks him out of the ring and states that there will be a match between the two at Cyberslam, no holds barred. Jamstar gets up and nails Matt with a chair, and tells his Unconscious form that he accepts the challenge.

Zach Weinberg and Jorgen Thue are long time tag partners who were considered the best champs in the business for a long time. Then the Webmasters stable formed (about 5-7 months before Cyberslam) and Sawan and Kayfabe, with some interference by you and the rest of the stable, win the belts. Weinberg and/or Thue are injured and he/they come back for revenge and beat the crap out of Sawan and Kayfabe in an ambush. The Webmasters put a match together between the two teams so Kayfabe and Sawan can get some revenge.

Mike HarDy and Jayson Copeland were good friends (in kayfabe, I dunno if they are in real life) and occasional tag team partners. In a recent match, HarDy wins the hardcore title from Todd Peregro, who promptly disappears. HarDy gets huge pops from the fans and Copeland begins to feel left behind and gets jealous. The Webmasters, for their own petty amusement (no offense), book a title match between the two. Copeland uses this to unleash all his agression on his former partner and HarDy realizes his friend has set him up. HarDy wins, but the anger between the two is nowhere near over, and the challenge at Cyberslam is made

Todd Kelly vs. Jumpin Jim is essentially an extension of the already used angle at rajah.com. Kelly beat Jim in a "retirement match" and Jim began interfering in Kelly's matches after a brief "retirement" costing Kelly key matches. Kelly challenges Jim to a final match at Cyberslam.

The Women's title match is one of those matches that has no real feud behind it. Aree is a lond time Women's champ, and Jennifer is just a good contender for the title.

Co holder of the Tag Team Titles, eh? I'll take it but I'm gonna want to move up in the future. I'm World Title material, people!

This has been buggin me for a while. What is the deal With Pat Patterson. Is he gay . Ive heard that somewhere and on a recent Raw he was walking behind vince McMahon and the regime and Jerry Lawler said ,"There's Pat Paterson always in the back." So is it true or am i crazy. thanks.

Pat Patterson is indeed openly gay. JR and The King have been making Patterson gay jokes for awhile now and it seems everyone has picked up on it. But to my knowledge Patterson is the only homosexual in the WWF, so don't everybody go asking me about is this wrestler gay, because we get those all the time and in most cases the reader is just trying to knock the wrestler when in actuality that wrestler is married with children.

Hi everyone at rajah.com, Although the recent WWF storylines have somewhat stalled I strongly feel that come the summer the WWF will be back to its best.

With the return of Stone Cold, The Undertaker, Mick Foley and Shawn Micheals ( the latter two in a non wrestling role ) the WWF is going to be hot.

Obviously they will all be involved in stories surrounding the WWF title. Also others who will be pushing for main event status will be Chris Jericho, Big Show, Chris Benoit, Kane and Rakishi and you have about 9 men who can realistically challenge for the World Title. I can not remember the last time the WWF could boast this and I do think it is a good thing, and many interesting angles should blossom.

Turn Rakishi heel ( which I think in the long run will be beneficial to him and his buddies Too Cool ) and have him feud with Kane ( please do not have him feud with the Boss man and The Bull ) Triple H is bound to feud with Jericho, as is The Rock and Austin. Undertaker can end some unfinished business with The Big Show and have Kurt Angle turn face and feud with Chris Benoit ( I know they sort of feuded around WM200 but I do not think it was done to the full extent )

That now leaves the Intercontinental Title which can still be contested between Benoit, Angle, but also add the names of Val Venis ( great wrestler but strained gimmick ) Delo Brown ( he's worth more than a 5th reign as European Champ ) Eddie Guerreo ( with Chyna at his side he can challenge for the I.C strap ) Tazz ( He will be a monster heel this time next year) X-Pac ( I don't really like the DX pairing of him and Roaddog, and I can't believe that with 6 years or so with the company he has never held this title.) and of cause the returning Mr Ass. I have no idea what you could do with Roaddog maybe put him back in the hardcore division, I don't think he is of I.C title standard, and never was for that matter.

The Euro Title is left to the rest as I still see it as an inferior title ( I can't believe the greats though that have held it HHH, Bulldog, Owen Hart, Micheals and of corse Midion ) Saturn and Malenko come to mind ( although I think both are outstanding talents I really think they will struggle to get over in the WWF especially Malenko, I have a horrible feeling he may turn into another Steve Blackman )

The Tag Titles will also make for interesting stories, Edge and Christian ( please give them a name ) the Dudlies , Too Cool, The Hardies ( they deserve a reign more than anyone ) T and A ( give them some mic time to develop themselves more and don't have them side with the Mcmahons. That Sucks ) and The Acolytes will all be in the mix.

The Summer will be quality if the WWF did this. Also they need to revamp the ladies Division, the light division ( they should sign a load of exciting indie wrestlers for this ) and the Hardcore division ( the 24\ 7 rule is wearing a bit thin )

Wrestlers to release -the Headbangers( they suck and blow at the same time ) Midion and get Stephanie off of TV.

Wrestlers to sign - Raven ( apparently not seeing eye to eye with Paul Heyman - sign him up.) Also apparently Curt Henning's contract is coming to an end, He could be used for a stable of Perfect wrestlers, which could include Val Venis ( with new gimmick, Scott Vick and maybe even the cocky Edge and Christian. Just a Passing thought.

Thats all. I know the suggestions are long but please post it on the mailbag.Cheers.

P.S, Doesn't Buh Buh Ray ( where's may stutter ) Dudley look like one of the blokes from Cypress Hill.

Well, you said a mouthful and expressed you thoughts, so there's really not much for me to reply with. I think Rikishi will turn heel.

Benoit will continue to progress by leaps and bounds. For some reason I like to compare Benoit's position to that of Bret Hart's. Not that their wrestling technique and characters are overly similar, becuase they're not, but because their greatness is so apparent. Benoit is the Intercontinental Champion and it doesn't even seem like it. He won the Title within his first couple of months in the WWF and has defended it through a series of excellent wrestling matches. He's astonishing to watch compete, and I at least can just see that he's destined for greater things. When Bret was IC Champion, he was probably the best technical wrestler on the roster (excluding Ric Flair) and he was given his chance to move up within months of dropping the IC strap. Chris Benoit definitely has the ability to do the same thing. He's already the strongest (and I don't mean in terms of weightlifting) IC Champion since Jeff Jarrett, and maybe since The Rock before that. I think he will move up and be a constant at the next level.

The only wrestler I would want to see added to the roster at this point would be Curt Hennig. I think somewhat of a nostalgic Mr. Perfect gimmick would go over great if done correctly, and he could even be thrust into a feud with the Rock for a period. Two egomaniacal characters going at it; I love it. And remember, Perfect has history storylinewise with several WWF competitors including Triple H who he at one time led to the IC Title, Shawn Michaels, who he's wrestled in the past, and Bret... oh yeah, Bret isn't in the WWF anymore. What a travesty. Can you imagine a Bret/Perfect WWF Title Match? Now with that I know I'd be getting my thirty bucks worth right there. Anyway, bottom line is I want Perfect back and a reader actually e-mailed me and mentioned that he would fit perfectly (pun intended) alongside Kurt Angle, which is true; he would. A Perfect return would pump me up, and who knows, maybe he could finally get his hands on that World Title he was allegedly promised over ten years ago.

I'm from the UK, don't have Sky Sports but have Sky One so I can watch Smackdown, but not RAW. Your site totally rocks and my question can only be answered by you.

What do wrestlers eat? Specifically? How much protein do they need, if possible a typical days eating would be nice to view.

No idea. Anyone out there that can help? Any wrestlers perhaps?

Hey Rajah. Nice site. please put this in the mailbag.

Don't you think the WWF is getting a but X-rated. I dont mean any offense and I love the WWF. But I truly wish they would tone down their content a bit. A large share of the one million RAW viewers are children. It would be great if the WWF would keep their product clean , just for the children. I dont know if this might cause a drop in viewership but I dont think it would. I being a wrestling fan ever since I was 3, (now Im 21) didnt grow up watching Miss Kitty do a strip act or Jim Ross doing gay talks. Back then it was true wrestling. Its changed a lot now, but not many watch the WWF for their adult content. If thats what they wanted there are so many other easy means to get them. Why watch a censored strip act when you can easily watch the real one. Another point I would like to make perfectly clear, right here, right now is that all this offensive talk should simmer down. or else we would have to rewrite the Oxford dictionary. coz "monkeys ass" and stuff like that have become a part of our vocabulary.

Not as large of share are children as you might think. Some 85% (I believe) of Raw's audience are teenagers and adults. I'm pretty indifferent where the so called questionable content is concerned. I've watched wrestling for over a decade and I've always enjoyed the matches, the wrestlers and characters, and terrific announcing. Profanity has never really drawn me to anything. I don't get any thrill hearing the Rock talk about asses or listening to Bob Holly call Michael Cole a shithead (OK, that one was kinda funny). But at the same time it doesn't really hurt the overall product and since this "attitude" has won a significant amount of viewership in the past few years, I don't see the WWF toning down their content very extensively any time in the near future.

Hey Rajah,Kayfabe whoever else is there,

One question. Everybody keeps saying Austin is a great wrestler, Bret is the best there is , the best there was and whatever, Rock is one tough wrestler, Michaels is a legend, Undertaker awesome. Well wrestling is predetermined right? So what exactly does it mean when you say this guy is great or that guy is great? I mean he is great coz Vince wants him to be so. or maybe the people takes a great appeal towards him. So it would be better you rephrase " ------ is a great wrestler " as "------ is a great entertainer. Dontya think so?

Some of it is wrestling, some of it is character based, some of it is other criteria. Wrestlers get an initial push for a reason. They have to do something well, whether it be getting the crowd into the match, working the mic, or wrestling on a top level. Bret Hart is one of the best technical wrestlers of all time, and still would be even if he never got a World Title push. But then would he be as recognized? Definitely not, and that would detract from his popularity and fan base, but not his wrestling ability. Same goes for Shawn Michaels. He was a great performer and truly was the most charismatic wrestler of all time. What about somebody like Brian Pillman? Pillman was an exceptional wrestler in his day. Compare him to Hulk Hogan. Which one is the legend? Which one was pushed as a heroic babyface? Which one has won numerous World Titles, starred in movies, and at times been the most famous face in pro wrestling? Hogan was undoubtedly more recognizible, but Pillman was a better technical wrestler.

So it all depends on the category you're talking about. When people say "Bret Hart is the best of all time", they're talking about his wrestling ability and the astounding success he's acheived over his illustrious career; the amount he's given to the business. When people talk about the Hogan's and Warrior's and Austin's it's because of their popularity and drawing power. With Shawn Michaels it's his talent and his flamboyance. With the Undertaker it's his gimmick and his abillity as a big man. With Andre the Giant it's his presence. There are endless categories to judge any given wrestler and though wrestling is pre-determined, it does not undermine the talent that different wrestlers have displayed in different areas over the years.

Oi Oi, me old flowers!!! Anyway, i just thought of somethin really funny, Test, it would seem, is now on the side of Gerald Brisco who is on the side of Vince McMahon, who is on the side of HHH and Stephanie, With Test's ex-fiancee being Steph, I just thought that was funny, given the way in which the relationship ended, that all is forgiven and Test even saved Shane McMahon from the Big Show!!!!

on to my question, I was recently watching a Video of WrestleMania VIII and before the event there was an advertisment for Royal Rumble 91 on video, Vince, in his old announcin style rounds off the competitors, one caught my eye as "Shane Douglas" and there was a picture of a young freshed face rookie, now- Is this the same Shane Douglas who went by the name of Dean Douglas and currently portrays "the Franchise" in WCW????? I can remember, vaguely, the staff at many websites saying the "Dean Douglas Period" of 95/6 being Douglas' only spell in the WWF, if so who is this other Shane Douglas??? and also if not where was he hiding between the 1991 and 1995??

It's the same Shane Douglas. In the past the WWF has recruited International or Independent wrestlers to serve for them briefly and their chief purpose was to compete in the 30 man Royal Rumble match. This was early in Shane's career, end he wrestled in the Rumble match. Later he went on to ECW fame and became the Franchise. Then in 1995 he surfaced in the WWF on a more permanant basis and was given the Dean Douglas gimmick. He rose to stradom and won the Intercontinental Title, but backstage politics soon took over and Shane left the WWF on rather bad terms.
