| rajah.com Mailbag -By Kayfabe and Rajah |
Alright, I have re-opened the Mailbag section with the help of two individuals, Kayfabe and Grandpa. Hopefully, it will work out better this time, as the above individuals will handle the great BULK of the emails.
Here are the steps to take if you like your question answered in the Mailbag section:
1. Please check to see that your question(s) have not been answered on any other sections of the page. Take great note of the FAQ Part I and FAQ Part II as well as the mailbag archives at the bottom of the page. .
2. Send a legibly written question or comment to mailbag@rajah.com. Please limit yourself to only one question per person per email. This allows us to update the mailbag more frequently.
3. ALL email sent there may potentially be included in the Mailbag. If you do not want your response posted, do NOT send it there!
4. If a name is included, I will post it along with the email. If you do not want your name published, do NOT write it!
5. Remember, it is impossible that every email I receive get posted on this page. Only the best and most popular questions/comments will likely make it on.
6. Also remember, that questions will be answered by either Kayfabe or Rajah, so any personal remarks should be addressed accordingly. The following color scheme will be used:Rajah - GREEN
Kayfabe - YELLOW
From: Sinhead
Hi Kayfabe! What is going on with Scott Hall? Has he been released?
When you wrote this he hadn't been, but now he sure as hell has.
From: Nick
Hey yo, in the last mailbag someone asked Kayfabe who he thought would be the
first wrestler to win all 5 belts. Well, Kayfabe said Christian was a lock,
but if Christian won the Hardcore, European, Tag, Intercontinental, and the
WWF Championship wouldn't he be a six time champ? Because if the 'ol memory
serves correct he has won the Lightweight Championship.
See, there ya go. He's so good, he'd win six Titles, not five. Speaking of Christian and Titles, do you know that he's had a shot at every WWF Championship (excluding the Women's Title) this year? It's true. And who can forget when he PINNED WWF Champion the Rock FAIR AND SQUARE on RAW this summer? Christian reeks of awesomeness.
From: Jericho_Y2J
This is Jericho_Y2J from public forum, just thought I would write in to give ya some help Kayfabe. It appears that you, much like me, LOVE Christian, and cant stand when people say Edge is way better. People, Edge is not way better. They are equal at least, but also, I like Christian better. The reason is, I love him on the mic, although Edge is halarious too, I think Christian is better. He has more skill in the ring than Edge in my opinon. He can wrestle on the mat as good as Edge, but can fly better than him. People who say Edge is better really need to re-think their facts before speaking because it angers me. Kinda like Jeff and Matt Hardy, they are at least equal. But, enough about that, what I really wanna say is, stop comparing all tag team members to each other and just accept that they are a great TEAM.
Anyway, Kayfabe, just so you can show off you vast knowledge, I have a question for you. Is there any chance you could post a detail of the career of Brian Pillman. Unfrotunately for me, when he was around, I did not see much of him except his run with Hart Foundation, which I loved him in, and I wanted to know what years he was in what feds and what he was doing so I can go rent or buy old tapes to catch up on him.
And Kayfabe, if you dont wanna go in a closet with Aree, I am always in mine! =)
Never have I had so many closet offers.
Very wll put. There's no point in arguing over singles members of a TEAM. Edge & Christian are both great. As for Brian Pillman, being a life-long WWF fan, I don't know overly much about his career myself. He was WCW throught the 90's until he signed with the WWF in 1996, a year before tragically passing away. So if you want to see Pillman, I'd try to find some early to mid-90's WCW stuff.

Kayfabe,
I know that HHH and the McMahon's are from Greenwich, CT. However, I was wondering if HHH knew the McMahon's personally while growing up there and if that possibly gave him an edge into getting into the WWF?
This may be a stupid question, but on a personal note, I know you guys have an awesome website and seem to have a lot of "inside connections" to post some of the WWF news. I was wondering if you are based in CT, too? Also, when working on the website, are you and Rajah together, or do you work over the internet via email? Sometimes when you post writer positions that are open for your website, I'm under the assumption that the writer doesn't need to be in the same spot you guys are at and that communication for the website is through email or something. Thanks.
The site is done over the internet; the writers have been from all around the world. I live a couple thousand miles away from Rajah.
No, HHH didn't know the McMahons until he signed on with the WWF in 1995.

in the last mailbag, there was a question about who u thought would be the
first WWF wrestler to win all five belts and u said that it would probably be
Test, D'Lo, Val Venis, and Christian. Well, I think u forgot a person who
has a better chance than anyone. Who is it?? None other than the Olympic
Gold Medalist and 2000 King of the Ring Kurt Angle. I don't think that u
could go wrong because in his "rookie" year, he one a king of the ring, he
was the euro-continental champ, and he is thick in the hunt for the
federation title. Once he wins that, which everyone probably knows that he
will, all he has to do is win the tag team titles with anyone and he will
have had 4 belts. Like u said though, the hardcore title is pretty cheap now
and unpredictable. Well, listen to my proposed booking. Say Angle's friend
Chris Benoit (they are still friends now, right?) is in a hardcore title
match against say Road Dogg after a face turn. Prior to this, Mick Foley
reinstated the 24/7 rule for the Hardcore belt. Benoit goes for the Flying
Headbutt when Road Dogg puts a chair up and whacks Benoit in the face. Now
they are both down, when 4 belt man Kurt Angle comes down to assist Benoit.
He does the Olympic Slam on Road Dogg and goes to wake up Benoit, when he
stops and thinks for a second. Then, he sprints over to Dogg, and
1-2-3 we have the first ever 5 Belt WWF wrestler. It kinda makes a little
sense too, not much though
Anything could happen with the Hardcore Title. I don't really like answering questions like "Who will be the first to win all...*whatever*?" just because they're literally impossible to not only predict but even speculate on. It's kind of silly for me to sit here and predict Title reings years in the future for people who may not even be with the company for that long. My answers mean absolutely nothing.

Which wrestler would you consider to be the stiffest worker? The softest?
Which federation would you consider the stiffest? The softest?
Thanks man, great site!
Well, since I haven't been in the ring with any of these guys it would be unfair and impossible for me to judge. Ahmed Johnson used to be critized for being too stiff; the point came where he eventually injured a lot of people as result of his stiff style. But there's a difference between being crisply stiff, and dangerously stiff. Being stiff can be a good thing, but not if it's to the point where the opposition is in any real harm. Currently, I'm not sure if the WWF has anyone who's overly stiff. If I had to choose, I'd probably go with someone like the Acolytes, but again, I have no basis to judge that on because I'm not in the ring with these guys. ECW is probably the stiffest orginization, justbecause of all the crazy spots they do, and the danger that comes along with taking them.

Hey, guys, what's up? I love your sight and I go to it every day like
ten times. Anyway, I have a question about this 'Smackdown Your Vote'
campaign. Now, I know it obviously has to be non-biased for reasons I'm not
even gonna go into, but couldn't it turn out to be a big mistake? I'm kinda
worried that the WWF is signing away their future. I mean, most of these
newly registered voters are probably going to vote Democrat, right? So if
they do, Joe Lieberman is the VP. He's also a member of the hated PTC.
Having the PTC in the White House could mean impending doom for the WWF.
What's your take on this?
There's nothing Lieberman or the PTC can do to completely "doom" the WWF for good, whether he's in the White House or not. The Smackdown Your Vote campaign is more of a publicity stunt than anything else, and one that, at this point, has failed.

Lovely site and all that, nice job. By the time the next mailbag is up Steve
Austin may be back and everything, but I was wondering to what extent he will be
able to put on a good wrestling match. I just wondered if perhaps you could
clear up a few things for me concerning his injuries. I am presuming that he
will not be able to do high impact moves which cause a heavy blow on his back
and neck. I'm thinking he won't be able to take a Last Ride from the Undertaker
or a chokeslam from Kane or Show, maybe not even a Rock Bottom, because of the
risk of re-injury. Other moves such as DDTs and Pedrigrees may also be too
dangerous for Austin to take. This kind of begs the question of what people
actually will be able to do on him. Obviously he wouldn't come back if he was to
be tooo seriously hindered, but it would be nice to have the situation cleared
up and you boyos would seem to be the dudes who can clear it up good.
Well, we'll find out this Sunday at No Mercy when Austin returns to the ring the first time since last November. I would expect an all out brawl. It's easier to brawl than anything else, and this will be the easiest style for Austin to assume against Rikishi this Sunday. Besides that, it fits his character and the storyline well. As the weeks progress, I think we'll see Austin back at near full strength. His injuries won't be overly noticable during his matches. He can go, just like everyone else. Otherwise, he wouldn't be back.

Do you think Jacqueline accidentally went to a car dealership instead of a plastic surgeon for those driver and passenger side airbags she has hanging from her chest? She even made BB look like she had...well...BBs. And is it me or is Jacky more inclined to "accidentally" fall out of her shirt than the other WWF Divas?
Heh. I think you're right on all accounts.

Kayfabe,
The response to Aree's letter in mailbag 28 was EPIC. It should win a
pulitzer prize for Web writing or something.
Why thank you, Matt. I appreciate that. For those that don't know what Matt's referring to, I kind of went off on a tangent when discussing the small world that is the WWF. I don't know if I'd consider a clusterf*ck like that a piece of excellent writing, but I did enjoy coming up with it, and thanks for the high praise.
From: Randall
In my spare time, I like to imagine devastating (to me at least) new finishing moves and submission holds. Is there anyone I could get in touch with to discuss my new moves and whether or not they might work for the WWF? It would be ever so cool if I could see one of my new moves win a match for a WWF wrestler. By the way, I DO understand that moves are meant to look painful but not hurt the athletes too much and have designed them as such. Also, just out of curiosity, what are your favorite current finishing moves (WCW and ECW included)?
All I know for pepole wishing to tell the WWF something is to e-mail them at wwffans@wwf.com. I have a lot of finishing moves including the Pedigree, the Crippler Crossface, Christian's Impaler, the 3D, the Fameasser, the X-Factor (it's underrated), the Tombstone (D'oh!), and more.

Kayfabe,
I hate to be a bit of a sook here, but as far as I know the WWF has never been to Australia, except for a few promotional tours by Shawn Michaels and Mick Foley. What Im trying to say here is this, WCW is touring Australia in october this year and every single show they are doing was sold out in about 3 hours. Now if WCW can do this Im sure the WWF could do it aswell.
I'm sure they could too, but why do it when they can sell out Chicago, or Boston, or Peroia, Illinois, just as easily? I know that sounds harsh, and the Australian fans deserve wrestling as much as anyone else, but those are the simple facts of business. I wish the WWF would tour the rest of the world again (they toured Europe every year for most of the 90's), but their current system is fine, so why fix what isn't broken? WCW, on the other hand, has trouble selling 5,000 seats in some major markets in the U.S., so for them a trip to the wrestling-starved Australia was beneficial.

Dear Kayfabe,
How come Edge doesn't use his finishing move the "Downward Spiral"? Every videogame that has Edge bills that move as his finishing move. Even wwf.com says so. Yet he never uses it.
Becasue it sucks. Hey, I like Edge, but the Downward spiral is a pretty crappy move for a finisher. As talented former rajah.com columnist, Vegas, once put it, " He just.... falls down." Really. I mean it's like a reverse russian leg sweep. Nothing to write home about. Besides, he doesn't need a solo finisher since he's been exclusively teaming with Christian for the last year anyway.

I am fan from india.I am great lover of wwf and of your website.I
have been watching wwf from 1992.I am especially the fan of THE
UNDERTAKER.I was just wondering of why THE UNDERTAKER never crowned
as the WWF champion for a long time between 1991 and wrestlemania XIII
(don't know for sure).Even after that ,the title reign was short.I am
curious about it 'cause as far as i know he is the best damn wrestler
than STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN,THE ROCK.I also think after UT ,the only
wrestler who is good is TRIPLE H.
There wasn't really a need to put the Title on the Undertaker. His gimmick of a Dead Man didn't really necessitate a lot of Title shots. He ws usually too busy trying to get his urn back, or ressurecting himself, or feuding with some other huge monster to concentrate on the Title. Meanwhile, smaller wrestlers with real names like Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Randy Savage, and Ric Flair, and big men that weren't too gimmicky like Diesel and Yokozuna traded the Title. The Undertaker was always busy in a different angle.

Was Rikishi in the movie Baseketball? I was watching it and theres this big
guy that looks jusl like Rikishi without a beard. Squeak psyches him out and
then he kicks his ass. i hope you can answer my question. Keep up the gr8
work with the site.
I don't believe he was, no.

WAZZA.....I find that Dudley Boyz move hilarious
anyways I think that Test is the WWF's futur he was
much better when he was in his feud with HHH and
Stephanie a year ago, but he just went downhill from
there, Can you give me a list of some of the young
guys that will be great WWF champions in the future?
Basically anyone who is on the roster, and is young, fits your criteria. The roster is loaded with talent. Val Venis, D'Lo Brown, Test, Edge, Christian, The Hardyz, Tazz, Steven Richards- all of them have the potential to make big names for themselves, not to mention the guys that have already begun to do so, like Kurt Angle and Chris Jericho.
