| rajah.com Mailbag -By Kayfabe and Rajah |
Alright, I have re-opened the Mailbag section with the help of two individuals, Kayfabe and Grandpa. Hopefully, it will work out better this time, as the above individuals will handle the great BULK of the emails.
Here are the steps to take if you like your question answered in the Mailbag section:
1. Please check to see that your question(s) have not been answered on any other sections of the page. Take great note of the FAQ Part I and FAQ Part II as well as the mailbag archives at the bottom of the page. .
2. Send a legibly written question or comment to mailbag@rajah.com. Please limit yourself to only one question per person per email. This allows us to update the mailbag more frequently.
3. ALL email sent there may potentially be included in the Mailbag. If you do not want your response posted, do NOT send it there!
4. If a name is included, I will post it along with the email. If you do not want your name published, do NOT write it!
5. Remember, it is impossible that every email I receive get posted on this page. Only the best and most popular questions/comments will likely make it on.
6. Also remember, that questions will be answered by either Kayfabe or Rajah, so any personal remarks should be addressed accordingly. The following color scheme will be used:Rajah - GREEN
Kayfabe - YELLOW

hey, guys. This has been driving me mad for about a year and a half. The night
Owen Hart died he was scheduled to face the Godfather for the I.C. title
if everything had gone as planned who was scheduled to win. And was Jeff
Jarrett's I.C. title push that happened two nights later supposed to go
to Owen. Thanks
Obviously, when put in perspective it seems meaningless, but yes, the consensus is the Owen was supposed to win the IC Title that tragic evening. He and Jeff Jarrett were then supposedly going to end up feuding over the Title anyway, so Jarrett's push would have happened anyway.

First of all, you guys have a great site that gets at
least 10 hits a day from me. My question is: What do
think about Perry Saturn, like future titles and
stuff? I personally think he rules and has
main-eventer wirtten all over him. Also, Josh in the
last mailbag mentioned the old Angelfire Rajahwwf, can
you put a link or URL to that. Thanks, keep up the
good work.
Impossible to say. It's hard to gauge a "ceiling" for everyone, but I personally don't think Saturn will ever be a top name. He's a solid midcarder, but I can't see him ever being World Champion material. Then again, stranger things have happened.

Kayfabe,
I'd just like to go on record saying that my comment on the Downward Spiral was officially, "He just grabs them...and falls down." No big deal, but I just had to get that off my chest. Anyway, feel fee to call me "talented" and "former columnist" anytime. You the man.
Vegas
PS. It's all a sham, Weakner actually has the crush on you. He just bought you a ceramic Ahmed Johnson doll for Christmas. Don't tell him I told you though. By the way, thanks for writing his column for me last week......I just didn't have the time....
The talented former columnist is of course a Christian advocate like myself. No problem about the column, Veg. I don't mind writing it two weeks in a row as long as you'll make it up sometime. Either way we split the check.

I heard raj was gonna change the name of this site.Is that true?if so i say it's
about damned time,kayfabewwf.com has a better ring to it anyway and we all know
who's the brains behind the operation anyway.
You're too kind. You don't realize how funny that is on so many levels, but it's about time I get some recognition. Just kidding- everyone knows Raj IS the site. I mean it's named after him and everything.

Dear Rajah/Kayfabe
I really love your site. I am writing about the WWF not using capsules to bleed from the face. I don't
think this is true as you could clearly see Austin at Fully Loaded last year in the first blood match with Taker pulling out a
blood capsule from under the ring and squashing it on his head. Please post my letter as i have wrote 4 times already and
have not got anything posted.
I sincerely doubt that's what happened. Austin especially, always blades, and it's easy to tell with his bald head. The motion you might have misjudged as "going under the ring" was probably when Austin reached up and bladed.

Hey guys, I agree Edge's Downward Spiral is a totally lame move that reeks of
heinosness. But one of Christian & Edge's double team moves sure as hell
doesn't. I'm talking about their stacked superplex, which is awesome, but i
haven't seen them do it for a long time. Is it because they're heels and that
move was garnered to induce a face pop? If not then how come we never see it
anymore?
It's probably because it takes a long time to set up, and it's too difficult to execute on a consistent basis. They probably aren't able to safely do it on larger wrestlers, and since a lot of tag teams are comprised of bigger guys (Dudleys, Acolytes, RTC, T & A, etc.), they haven't disabled themselves against those teams by using a finisher they can't use on most of the competition. Now that you mention it, it's odd that they've been so successful for so long now without a real tandem finisher.

Okay, I've read on and on about who has had the longest running "character,"
but wouldn't it be the Big Bossman? He's been around for a long time... I'm
not too sure, but thought I'd ask.
Thanks!
Boss Man wasn't even in the WWF from 1993-1998, so it's not fair to say he has the longest running character. During that time he bounced around WCW portraying totally different characters.

Hey guys! Many people say that The Undertaker has the longest-going gimmick,
but I disagree. Technically, doesn't Bret Hart have the longest going gimmick
because I remember him all the way back at WM 2, and I just saw him return to
Nitro the other day. So, wouldn't Bret have the longest going gimmick?
Thanks.
Rajah's response: I guess, but I think everyone's talking about in the WWF. Bret is on the other team now so who cares. If you only consider the WWF (at least the current stars), Taker has that distinction. [Since writing this, Bret has been released from WCW so I guess you can say his gimmick is dead.]
------------
If memory serves me correctly, the Undertaker debuted somewhere around WM7 or so,,,but the Brooklyn Brawler was around for WM5-I dont remeber if he was on the card- and was managed by Bobby Heenan I think,, and I just saw him beating Joe E Legend (Just Joe) on Jakked tonite,,, thought Id point that out-----oh yeah, I think you should stop flicking the 6 legged, 2 headed llama eating, spotted badger crapping, nicely dressed, urine scented oxen off of their perches of the jello in a warbler's neck.
Brawler, like Boss Man, was missing for an extended period of time. He was virtually non-existent from 1995-1999. And he was never a major player anyway. I say the most successful gimmick still easily goes to the Undertaker.
First, if I can weigh in on the Bret issue; he doesn't really have a gimmick, so I don't know how his name even got involved. He's just a normal guy. It's not exactly a stretch. The Undertaker was a dead guy that felt no pain, stuffed people in bodybags, and gained strength from an urn- now that's out there. Taker has a true gimmick and it got over like no other, which is I think it's the most successful ever.

Hey Kayfabe and Rajah,
I just finished reading Mailbag 29 and hope this makes it to Mailbag 30.
Anyhow, while reading a person asked about Jeff being married and someone
else asked if Matt and Lita are dating. Well, you(Rajah) responded that they
weren't but why should it matter and why do we care about their love lives
anyway. Well, aren't the WWF wrestlers considered celebrities? Don't people
want to know whose dating who in the world of Hollywood? Well, then why
shouldn't wrestling fans want to know who dates who don't you think it comes
with the territory? Anyhow, I remember asking around forever did Triple H and
Stephanie date and everyone said no but I recently found out they did while
listening to Dave Meltzer on his show when a guest asked what was up with
those two. He said they dated but not anymore so my question is since they
DID date do you know around what time? I know dumb question but me and so
many other people I know would like to know. BTW great site!
Thanks a bunch,
Personally, I've never cared about the love lives of wrestlers OR celebrities. I just don't give a damn. Doesn't change my life at all. As for Steph and Trips, I have a hard time beliveing Meltzer was serious in saying that they once dated, because I'm certain they never did.
I'm sure Meltzer was kidding. He has a tendency to throw in some bogus stuff now and again to see how many people fall for it. He even goes so far
as to post on his website and A LOT of people end up believing him. I can almost say with 100% certainty that Triple H and Stephanie do not date and never have dated.
From: Polarsun77
HI,
are Trips and SMH really married in real life ? Because I read somewhere that
in real life Trips and Chyna are couple and also SMH and Test.
Could you give me the answer for this.
Thanks
See above. Test and Steph, as well as Trips and Steph, as well as Test and Trips were never a couple. Chyna and HHH are dating.

Rajah,
Please help! My daughter really believes Triple H & Steph are married. Where can I Find
the most recent and factual info for her. Oddly enough, she is aware that wrestling is a scripted form of
entertainment, however, this is a sore spot with her. Out of all the WWf sites I've
visited this one is the only one I have bookmarked and it's the first place I visit every day! Your site is always up and is always dependable. Thank you
for your hard work and dedication. WWF Fans in my house include......... Myself-39 yrs, my mom-60 yrs. ,Jessica-11 yrs. ,Travis-10 yrs. & Heather-16 yrs. We are Triple H, Dudley Boyz, Hardy Boyz, Lita & Chyna fans.
Sincerely,

Without sounding like too much of a cornball, I want to say that I was truly touched by that letter. It's so cool to see a family of WWF fans and especially rajah.com fans! Rest assured that you can tell your daughter Triple H and Stephanie are not really married. Show her this text. Because if it's on the 'net it's gotta be true. Steph and HHH were never a couple, just like Chyna and Eddie Guerrero weren't and Perry Saturn and Terri aren't. Anything you see on the TV is an angle. Wrestling is no different from other TV. Maggie and Jason Seaver were married on Growing Pains, just like Steph and Triple H are on Raw. But off camera, Joanna Kerns and Alan Thicke, like Stephanie McMahon and Paul Levesque, aren't married at all. It's the exact same thing. Both "couples" were/are merely actors playing a role on TV. And that's the bottom line.

You and Raj put out a great site. Thanks!! I just wanted to ask...in
Mailbag 29 you mentioned that the wwf can seel out major arenas. You
mentioned Chicago, Boston, and PEORIA ILLINOIS!! This threw me for a loop.
Peoria (im from that area) is by no means a big city....so what brought that
up?? Just a question
Thanks
Ha, no specific reason really. I was trying to think of a smaller city that I know the WWF hits to prove my point and Peoria just happened to come to mind. Glad you got a kick out of it.

Someone asked in a past mailbag what the term "bronco
buster" meant, and I'd just like to say that it's when
a fresh (maiden?) horse in a race (or rodeo) gets
broken in, hence the term "bronco buster".
Oh come on, JUST KIDDING. I'm not a mean guy, really. I just saw the opportunity for some major heel heat, that's all.
I'm not a redneck, so I didn't know that. Thanks for the info.

Hey Raj and Kayfabe
Wuz up?
I have a question on the WWF writting team. I was watching the Beyond the
Mat Documentry today, and I saw Vince Russo talking to Sable about what was
gonna happen to her and stuff. Then I saw Vince McMahon, Jim Ross, Terry
Taylor, and Pat Patterson sitting at a table with head seats on telling
people what is to happen and talking to the announcers. I want to know is do
they actually write a Script ot they just tell them what is gonna happen how
long the ending of the match? I saw a chalkborad with the list of the
matches for a RAW Dark Matches and stuff. So I wanted to know is do they
actually make a script? If so who writes the script Vince or the Writter or
they pitch ideas to him and he makes the show. Are the promo's written for
them word for word? In the matches do they write the whole landscape of the
match or just a overview for them to work with. I saw Russo with a bunch of
papers writting what he was talking about. This is a question I have been
dying to know about for soooooo long?
ThanX alot
Promos generally aren't written word for word, especially with the more experienced stars. They're given a general direction and a few main points to hit on, but they fill up the middle. The matches are not scripted move for move, but again, the major spots and booking instances are. The finishes are certainly pre-determined. The wrestlers usually go over the match before hand and go over the basics of what they're going to do.

Hey Rajah,
Im a big fan of the site and I have a quick question for you. With all of
the recient problems that the Hart family has had the past few years I was
wondering who do you feel is the most tragic family in pro wrestling history
and what has been the most tragic story to ever come out of wrestling?
I'd hate to remember the Hart family as tragic, but it is a shame what's happened in recent years with Owen, family friend Brian Pillman, Davey Boy Smith, and even Bret to an extent. The stories that the family is now totally divided are also a shame to hear, including one statement by Martha Hart (Owen's widow) that she will keep in touch with only a select few of the Hart's and that Owen was a great man from a horrible family (that's definitely paraphrased- she said something to that effect). The Harts have been unfortunate the last few years, but I'd say the most tragic wrestling family by far has to go to the Von Erichs. Fritz Von Erich had five sons, all of whom followed in his footsteps and became wrestlers. Of Kevin, David, Kerry, Mike, and Chris, only Kevin is still alive today. Drug overdoses and suicides claimed the others' lives, as the family completely deteriorated over the years.
