-By Kayfabe and Rajah

Alright, I have re-opened the Mailbag section with the help of two individuals, Kayfabe and Grandpa. Hopefully, it will work out better this time, as the above individuals will handle the great BULK of the emails.

Here are the steps to take if you like your question answered in the Mailbag section:

1. Please check to see that your question(s) have not been answered on any other sections of the page. Take great note of the FAQ Part I and FAQ Part II as well as the mailbag archives at the bottom of the page. .
2. Send a legibly written question or comment to mailbag@rajah.com. Please limit yourself to only one question per person per email. This allows us to update the mailbag more frequently.
3. ALL email sent there may potentially be included in the Mailbag. If you do not want your response posted, do NOT send it there!
4. If a name is included, I will post it along with the email. If you do not want your name published, do NOT write it!
5. Remember, it is impossible that every email I receive get posted on this page. Only the best and most popular questions/comments will likely make it on.
6. Also remember, that questions will be answered by either Kayfabe or Rajah, so any personal remarks should be addressed accordingly. The following color scheme will be used:

Rajah - GREEN
Kayfabe - YELLOW

Hey guys. Great site as always. Anyway, I just wanted to ask a simple question. Has anyone EVER kicked out of X-Pac's X-Factor? I mean... people have kicked out of the pedigree, rock bottom, stunner... It seems that SOMEONE has kicked out of EVERYONE's finisher except X-Pac. I mean, Stunner... perhaps a chance to get up from. X-Factor, you're done. No chance. Just curious if you knew of an instance where someone kicked out of that move.

I'm sure someone has at some point in time. I can't recall anyone specifically off the top of my head, but I seem to remember a spot where X-Pac would hit the X-Factor out of nowhere but be slow in covering and only get two. Never is a pretty strong word; I'm positive it's happened.

I know we hear about how The Rock is planning on being in more movies as the Scorpion King, etc, and how he'll be pulling down $5.5 million for the movie. How much do most of the WWF wrestlers make? I realize there must be quite a range, from people like the Brooklyn Brawler to mid-carders like X-pac and the Road Dogg to the top stars, like Austin and the Rock. And what's the deal with their "incentive" salaries?

Like you said, it all depends. Wrestlers are signed to different base salaries, but also get a percentage of their merchandise sales as well. Top stars like Austin and the Rock make a few million dollars per year with merchandise, and midcarders take home something in the six digit range.

What the hell does it mean when a wrestler schoolboys another??

It's a rollup pin.

Hey guys I have a question about Stone Cold Steve Austin: after he wrestles, he is always thrown some beer cans which he drinks. Are these thrown to him by WWF plants or can we bring our own cans of beer to throw to him? Also, how come these throws never seem to miss?

They're thrown by the guys at ringside, NOT by fans, or even WWF "plants" in the crowd. They never miss because he knows who's throwing them and motions for them whenever he wants them. Don't try to bring beer into an arena for a WWF show, let along toss them at Austin. You'll be undoubtedly ejected, and since no one at ringside is expecting it, like any object, it could hit someone and injure them.

Do you have any idea what the reason is with the long absence of marty janetty after michaels threw him threw the barber shop window? was he on vacation or was he injured or what? maybe it was from having a bad back from carrying the rockers for all those years

Ha! Hey, heavy lifting will do that to you. Your question is actually one I've often wondered about myself. It's from my "mark days" and I haven't found any explanation for it on the internet. I assume that it could be as simple as the fact that they had him selling the window incident, but it's hard to believe they'd let him sit on the shelf without wrestling for so long (about a year). I'm pretty sure he was under WWF contract the whole time, and I never heard anything about a legitimate injury that kept him out of action. If anyone can shed some light on this, please help us out.

I was wondering if you could tell me what happened when the rockers won the tag titles against The Hart Foundation but then the ropes came loose or something and they had to give the belts back. Ive heard this is where the history between Bret and Shawn started?Cheers.

Ah, a Rocker question I can answer. In late 1990, the Hart Foundation were Tag Team Champions, but Jim Niedhart's contract was coming up, and the WWF was going to let him go, and push Bret Hart as a singles wrestler. Needless to say, the Harts had to drop the Tag Titles, and were scheduled to do so against the Rockers at a Saturday Night's Main Event taping. Early in the match, the top rope somehow came loose from the turnbuckle, and somewhat limited both teams. A Rockers/Harts battle was something special, and everyone was expecting a **** match, but the loose rope prevented them from performing anywhere close to their usual standards, and not only did they not live up to high expections, but they had a reportedly horrible match, that would have been embarassing to show on national television. Since the match was taped, the WWF had time to debate whether to air it or not. Sometime between the taping and the airdate of that particular Saturday Night's Main Event, contract negotiations with Niedhart took a surprisingly positive turn, and he ended up re-signing with the WWF after all. The WWF decided that if he was going to remain in the WWF, they wanted the Hart Foundation to remain as Champions. Their decision about whether or not to air the Rockers match became simple. Since they wanted the Harts to remain as Champions, and the match was awful anyway, they simply never aired the match on TV, and no one was the wiser.

Well, most everyone, anyway. Remember, in 1990, TV tapings were done during large blocks, and then aired one week at a time. Sometimes, months of TV were taped on the same day. Announcers on the syndicated WWF shows like Superstars and Wrestling Challenge started to reference the Title switch since at the time of the tapings, the switch was scheduled to take place, and air. These syndicated shows would then be aired after the Title switch, so naturally, the announcers acknowledged the match, leaving viewers everywhere genuinly confused, since they'd never seen any such match. The WWF quickly cleared up the controversy by revealing that the Rockers had indeed almost won the Titles, but due to the loose ring rope, the match was thrown out and didn't count, so the Titles were returned to the Harts.

The Harts would go on to hold the Titles until Wrestlemania VII in March of 1991, where they dropped them to the Nasty Boys. Bret was given his singles push after all, and captured the Intercontinental Title that summer. Niedhart ended up in the lower mid-card while waiting for his contract to expire in early 1992. Around the same time, The Rockers went through with their famous split, having never won the Tag Titles together.

Love your column. You guys know everything so I got a few questions for you. Did Rikishi ever wrestle anywhere else under a different name or WWf under a different name?? What or is there a relationship between him and the Samoans or the Headhunters from a few years back.(are they related??) Thanks

Rikishi entered the WWF in 1992 as Fatu, one half of the Samoan tag team the Headshrinkers with Samu. In the mid 90's the WWF tried to get him over as "Make A Difference" Fatu, a babyface that wanted to, well, make a difference, but that gimmick flopped badly. So they stuck him under a mask and turned him into the Sultan, a character managed by former WWF Champions Bob Backlund and the Iron Shiek. That didn't really get over either, and was soon scrapped. In 1999, after gaining some weight, he redebuted as Rikishi, and this time the fans took a liking to him. For information on how all the Samoans are related, click here.

Hi there Rajah, oh and that geezer called kayfabe too, I have a question which puzzles me considering Stone Cold's stunt when he got hit by the car. Now, he did this so it made it look like the car had put him out of action for the ten months afterwards, even though he had actually suffered a neck injury right? WELL then, why the bloody hell did he do the stunt if his neck was injured? If it was me, and my neck was busted, i most certainly wouldn't be thinking of jumping in front of any car, whether it had been on top of the boot or actually hit by it or whatever. get me? If you ask me, austin doing this showed he had quite large balls at the time. So whatcha think? How or why the hell did he go through with this stunt knowing perfectly well he couldn't even manage to wrestle the match that night?

That wasn't actually Austin that got rundown; a stunt man took the hit for him. There's no way Austin or the WWF would be stupid enough to risk his health like that.

Hi, in the 30th edition of the mailbag a reader asked if Lilian Garcia was a lesbian. I know for a fact she is not. I know someone that is cousins with her HUSBAND. Just thought I'd clear that up.

I think the reader was talking about the WWF hinting that her character might be a lesbian, which I refuted. She is married in reality, and even on-screen I don't think there's any merit to the idea. That was just a case of someone trying to, as a wise man once put it, "stir the pot".

Hey, guys! I love to read the mailbag, but I've never written in to it before.

Just wanted to clear something up from Mailbag #30. At Fully Loaded last year, after the Undertaker bladed (right in front of the camera), Steve Austin rolled out of the ring in their brawl. Stone Cold stopped at the apron, face down, dropped to the floor and stuck his hand under the ring. He was putting the blade out of sight, not picking up a capsule or putting his hand into a bucket.

As Kayfabe mentioned, since Austin has a blad head, it's easy to tell that he has, in fact, bladed. Whenever you see someone lying face down, then getting up cut open, you can tell they've bladed.

Exactly. I said that the hand motion was probably Austin blading. There's no such thing as blood buckets!

Hey about that email in your current mailbag with the guy saying how X-pacs music said fuck in it. I thought that too at first, but theyre actually saying- im not the one they tried their luck with. But I can see where you thought it cused bc it sounds a whole lot like-im not the one they tried to fuck with. Alright just wanted to clear that up.

P.S. One question- Like a little while before WM15 did Test win the Euro title from X-Pac and give it to Shane or did Test just interfere causing Shane to win in a match? If Test did win it then Id say hes pretty close to getting the "grandslam" since he already would have euro and hardcore.

Thanks for the info. Test was never European Champion, and the Hardcore Title isn't considered in the "Grand Slam" regardless. I think these "Grand Slam potential" questions are pretty fickle anyway.

About that Savio Vega question. Savio did wrestle as the Caribean Kid once to get back at Austin, and he wa unmasked at the end. Probably to make Austin think he lost to a jobber, when he really didn't. Jeeze, such bad memory, even I could remember something small like that.

I stand corrected. The way the question was phrased it sounded like the reader was inferring that Savio had been wrestling permanently as the Caribbean Kid, and then unmasked and turned into Savio Vega. That was not the case. I have no recollection of the above scenario, but I'll take your word for it.

Who are the wrestlers to retain there World belts at Wrestlemaina and who is the wrestlers with the highest title regins. I know Bret Hart is one of them and the Rock. thanks

I'm not sure I understand the wording of your question. Hulk Hogan, Diesel, and Triple H are actually the only three to ever retain their World Titles at Wrestlemania. I'd say Marty Jannetty was pretty high during his Intercontinental Title Reign, but he always was a partier. If you mean who has had the most amount of title reigns, Bret Hart, Hogan, and The Rock have all held the Title five times. Triple H and Steve Austin have four apiece.
