rajah.com Mailbag
-By Kayfabe, Vegas and Rajah

Alright, I have re-opened the Mailbag section with the help of two individuals, Kayfabe and Grandpa. Hopefully, it will work out better this time, as the above individuals will handle the great BULK of the emails.

Here are the steps to take if you like your question answered in the Mailbag section:

1. Please check to see that your question(s) have not been answered on any other sections of the page. Take great note of the FAQ Part I and FAQ Part II as well as the mailbag archives at the bottom of the page. .
2. Send a legibly written question or comment to mailbag@rajah.com. Please limit yourself to only one question per person per email. This allows us to update the mailbag more frequently.
3. ALL email sent there may potentially be included in the Mailbag. If you do not want your response posted, do NOT send it there!
4. If a name is included, I will post it along with the email. If you do not want your name published, do NOT write it!
5. Remember, it is impossible that every email I receive get posted on this page. Only the best and most popular questions/comments will likely make it on.
6. Also remember, that questions will be answered by either Kayfabe or Rajah, so any personal remarks should be addressed accordingly. The following color scheme will be used:

Rajah - GREEN
Kayfabe - YELLOW
Vegas - AQUA

Hey Kayfabe,Rajah, and the new addition and big playa Vegas! Hey love the mailbag ive been readin it for a while now its my favorite part of the site and im glad you guys are doing it again and i got two great questions that I know many want to hear.I hope yo uanswer this cuz ive been in once and here we go........ Ok Who in the hell is Harvey Wippleman!!!????? I mean Ive been wtachin the wwf since like 96' and I don't remember this choch..ever!! He sounds like the toilet paper guy for charmen!! and how do he win the womens title???!!!! I mean honeslty.Im sure tons want to know cuz like He I don't thnik ever gets t.v. time and iwatch like eveyr raw and don't remember him gettin the title!

Harvey Wippleman was a heel manager in the early 90's. In 1991 he replaced Slick as the Warlord's manager, then in early 1992 he became Sid Justice's manager after Sid turned heel. He actually played an important role in his Wrestlemania VIII main event match against Hulk Hogan, and for all intents and purposes ended up getting Sid DQ'ed. Sid left the company shortly thereafter, so "Doctor Harvey (Wippleman)", as he was originally packaged, moved on to manage Kamala, the Ugandan Giant. Kamala feuded with the Undertaker throughout the summer and fall of 1992, but could never come close to beating him. Harvey grew upset with the dimwitted Kamala, and got in his face, prompting a returning (babyface) Slickster to run in and defend Kamala. Slick then took over as Kamala's manager for brief period, thus bringing the Slick/Harvey relationship full circle. Harvey still had his sights on bringing down the Undertaker, however, and promised to do so. At the 1993 Royal Rumble, he debuted his new protoge, the eight foot tall Giant Gonzalez. The Giant dismantled the Undertaker, and feuded with him for the better part of 1993. When Gonzalez left the company, Harvey made a brief stint managing Adam Bomb. At Wrestlemania X, he got into it with ring announcer Howard Finkel, and over the course of the next few months, Howard and Harvey had a series of epic "Tuxedo Matches", a concept which has been repackaged today and used to please the male audience by doing it with women instead. His feud with Howard had actually been in the making for years, since The Fink used to always introduce him in a very condescending tone. Harvey would then grab the mic away from him, and belittle Finkel before introducing his wrestler himself.

Harvey disappeared from the camera after 1994 but remained with the WWF in a backstage capacity. In January 2000, "Hervina", a mystery woman, beat the Kat in a "Snow Bunny Match" on Raw for the Women's Title. "Hervina" turned out to be Harvey Wippleman, who gloated about the victory. He then dropped the Title to Jacqueline the next night at the Smackdown Tapings in an embarassing loss. Today, he can be seen backstage from time to time as part of backstage skits, whether it be telling Triple H that Vince McMahon wants to see him, or handing Drew Carey his wrestling gear at the Royal Rumble. Basically, Harvey is a whimpy character who tries to act tough, but can't back up any of his words himself. His look and his voice are perfect for it. Now his character is an insignificant one, sometimes used for comic relief, but in the early 90's, Harvey was a top heel manager.

(Referring to the last question in Mailbag #32) NO RAJAH! IT CAN'T HAPPEN! KAYFABE CAN'T TAKE OVER YOUR SITE! THAT DAMN COMMIE!!! SAVE US ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ALTHOUGH... NOW THAT I THINK ABOUT IT... WHAT WOULD THE SITE BE WITHOUT KAYFABE?!?! DOWN WITH RAJAH! GO KAYFABE!

Onto my question....... Either Kayfabe, Rajah, Grandpa, or anyone else who is working on it... who do you think will be the WWF Champion in January, 2005? (I'll hold you to your answer, too!!!!)

I love my crazed psychotic fans. Anyway, Champion in January 2005... hmmm. Well, let's look at history for a moment. In January 1986, Hulk Hogan was WWF Champion. In January 1990, Hulk Hogan was WWF Champion. So, by that logic, I guess my pick for 2005 Champ is Kurt Angle. But wait. In January 1994, Yokozuna was the Champ, someone nobody had ever heard of in 1990. In January 1994, the Champ was Bret Hart, a tag team midcarder in 1990. And in January 1995, Kevin "Diesel" Nash was the Champion. He had been a WCW jobber in 1991. The point? It's impossible to predict. So I'll bet that it's someone that we've never heard of. Or maybe Anthony Michaels. Ever read that guys' column? He's great.

Okay it has been a while since I have emailed the mailbag so it is about time to get a staff member plug.

Anyway I just finished reading the last mailbag and Rajah was a little off in his answer about Savio Vega. See Vegas had asked about this not that long before. Vega is down in Puerto Rico wrestling with the IWF which is the same league that the WWF uses in their farm system. He is involved in the backstage part of the fed and wrestles. He had been doing backstage stuff with the WWF but I think that was over when the got rid of that show Los Astros or whatever it was.

Now after giving Vegas this info I was informed by Kayfabe that I would be a good mailbag person. Well then I go to read the newest mailbag and Vegas is his new partner. What about MTR? What about me? When do I get to help with the mailbag. Geez. I am full of useless wrestling knowledge. Okay enough about me. Well not quite. You can ask me questions in the public forum if you want to test my knowledge. Now I am done.

Later from you favorite forum moderator.

Oh my, how I knew there'd be controversy. It's true, MTR is full of wrestling knowledge and would be great for the Mailbag. Thing is, Vegas happened to ask me first.

"Now after giving Vegas this info I was informed by Kayfabe that I would be a good mailbag person. Well then I go to read the newest mailbag and Vegas is his new partner."

Oh, the irony. Well, I'll tell you what. As soon as Vegas is unable to fulfill his Mailbag commitments (which he has a past history of since he had to quit his column after being struck by lightning), MTR, you are next in line.

here it goes. remember the team of Undertaker and Big Show ? They had the titles just before Taker had to take 8 months off for various injuries suffered from carrying the WWF's ass until HBK stopped "quitting" and Austin came into the focus. Anyways, on RAW, UT and Show defended the belts against Rock & Sock connection. Paul Bearer got a call on a cell phone and handed it to the Taker. Then the Taker and Bearer walked out of the match, allowing Rock and Foley to win the match. How come this angle was introduced ? They never got into it. I specifically remembered that the next time UT was on TV he was "suspended" for not wrestling. JR made the call " who the hell was on the phone " and the wwf never bothered to get into this angle. I think they did this because they billed the UT-Show team as "unbeatable" and this was just a way they could get beaten, but I was wondering if the messiahs of wrestling knowledge (here at rajahwwf) had any additional info on this bizzare angle involving my fav wrestler,The Undertaker.

I don't know if it was ever supposed to go anywhere. I know that it wasn't explored further because as you said, the Taker left to take some time off shortly thereafter, and it wouldn't make sense to go into the angle if he wasn't around. That was in mid 1999, and only now are Show and Taker back on WWF TV at the same time (excluding a brief overlap this summer). It would make no sense to go into it now since Taker is the American Badass, everyone involved has moved on, and it has no relevance or significance to any current happenings. It's just one of those things that are dropped. Angles are canned all the time. Even recent angles are dropped that not everyone may remember. Hardcore Holly and the plate in his arm, anyone? What ever happened to that?

Shoulodn't you update tha mailbag, there is one question that asks where Yokozuna is. If my memory serves me correctly, he died didn't he? Just thought you could change that info! Thanks.

Yes, he did die. We're not going to go back and change the archives of the Mailbag. They're called archives for a reason. At the time that was written, Yoko wasn't dead. The archives will never be changed.

Hey Guys! I have a question I've sent in two times or so, and to my knowledge it has not been posted. No hard feelings, I'm just gonna re-ask it along with another question. First, has Rob Van Dam wrestled in the WWF as a lightweight wrestler before? I keep thinking that he, Taka, and Brian Christopher were the main contenders back when it first came out.

Perhaps the reason it hasn't gotten in is because the "rules" clearly state to please ask only one question. We used to accept dozens of questions in one email, but it got way too complicated and hard to read, so we've started to ask that you please ask only one question. This isn't to pick on you; it goes to everyone who's wondering why their letter doesn't make it in. To answer, your RVD question, he wrestled in the WWF briefly during the "ECW invades the WWF angle" in early 1997 and I believe he may have indeed gotten involved with the Light Heavyweight Title when it resurfaced the same year. He never won the strap, but may have challenged for it.

It was great that the winner of the Royal Rumble got a title shot at WrestleMania back when there were only the "big 5" PPVs. But now it is such a long time to wait for the title shot, with a PPV in-between in February. The February PPV sort of kills that story line. Something needs to be done. I have two suggestions: (1) move the Royal Rumble to February, or (2) make the January Royal Rumble a two-ring match, with the rings apart - not side-by-side, and have the two winners battle it out in February for the WrestleMania Title Match.

I agree with your assessment, but I don't like either solution. The Rumble may not be as important as it used to be, but on the other hand, it does make the February PPV that much more intersting and important. The Road to Wrestlemania has now become more exciting than it ever was in the past, with more room for twists and turns.
