rajah.com Mailbag
-By Kayfabe, Vegas and Rajah

Alright, I have re-opened the Mailbag section with the help of two individuals, Kayfabe and Grandpa. Hopefully, it will work out better this time, as the above individuals will handle the great BULK of the emails.

Here are the steps to take if you like your question answered in the Mailbag section:

1. Please check to see that your question(s) have not been answered on any other sections of the page. Take great note of the FAQ Part I and FAQ Part II as well as the mailbag archives at the bottom of the page. .
2. Send a legibly written question or comment to mailbag@rajah.com. Please limit yourself to only one question per person per email. This allows us to update the mailbag more frequently.
3. ALL email sent there may potentially be included in the Mailbag. If you do not want your response posted, do NOT send it there!
4. If a name is included, I will post it along with the email. If you do not want your name published, do NOT write it!
5. Remember, it is impossible that every email I receive get posted on this page. Only the best and most popular questions/comments will likely make it on.
6. Also remember, that questions will be answered by either Kayfabe or Rajah, so any personal remarks should be addressed accordingly. The following color scheme will be used:

Rajah - GREEN
Kayfabe - YELLOW
Vegas - AQUA

Hey Kayfabe, Great site ;-) How exactly do you pronounce your name? I'm clueless.

Well, it's very simple. It's pronounced how it's spelled. "Pete". The 'Pe' sounds kind of like Pee, and there's a hard 't' at the end to kind of finish it off.

Oh, if you meant my other name, it's two syllables. 'Kay' sounds simply like the letter 'K', and 'fabe' rhymes with the name 'Gabe'. I don't really know how else to explain it.

I think I have a great idea for the WWF, but I have no idea how to send it their way. How can someone do this? Also, is the WWF at all interested in fans' ideas?

The WWF welcomes all their fans' thoughts at wwffans@wwf.com.

Can someone tell me how 1 year a move is considered devastating e.g Farooq's Spinebuster now it's just one of his moves? Also quickly, if the Stunner or the pedigree are so effective why don't other wrestlers use them? Are they not allowed to by the WWF? I would really apreciate if you could answer this

It's all about the evolution of wrestling. DDT's and powerbombs used to be devastating finishers. Chokeslams and Rock Bottom-type moves used to be setup moves. Now the roles are reversed. Go figure. There's no particular reason for it, other than DDT's and powerbombs started to be used by several different wrestlers because they wanted to improve their movesets and these were moves that they could easily pull off. Chokeslams on the other hand were adopted by particular wrestlers and established as finishers. Once a wrestler establishes something as his pattened finishing maneuver, it becomes his, and it wouldn't make much sense for other wrestlers to do it as well. Why would the WWF want D'Lo Brown, for example, to use the Stone Cold Stunner? That's Austin's trademark move. It's part of his persona, part of his character. It would cheapen it if other wrestlers used it too.

Do you know when The Big Show is coming back.

Yes.

What WWF Pay-Per-View(past or current) drew the highest buyrate ever?(I need the PPV, and the buyrate number)

Gee, like that's not blatantly asking for the answer to some trivia contest. You know how many of those I get? I actually don't know, especially since PPV Buyrates used to be judged on a different scale than they are now.

In response to the Headshrinkers/Quebecers/Owen & Yoko situation. I thought (if memory serves me) that Lou Albano brought them in to face Diesel and Shawn Michaels when they were tag champs for the face turn. That was when Samu was gone and the Barbearian then known as Ciona (or something similar) was a part of the team with Fatu. And they ended up wrestling at Summerslam that year. And they were also involved in the Survivor Series match that would see the breakup of Shawn and Diesel.

Does this sound correct?

Some of that is right, and some of it's wrong. But the Headshrinkers were already faces before they ever got involved with Shawn & Diesel. In fact, they dropped the Titles to Shawn and Diesel the day before Summerslam 1994. That fall, The Barbarian was repackaged as Seone to replace Samu, and you're right, they were involved in the Survivor Series (1994) match that saw Shawn and Diesel split. But that doesn't explain how they turned face.

The Shrinkers turned face and won the Tag Titles from the Quebecers in the spring of 1994. The date and time and people involved with the Title switch aren't in question. I just don't remember what specific event turned them face. It could've been as simple as them uniting with Captain Lou and challenging and defeating the Quebecers for the belts. But I'm not positive.

Someone mentioned in Mailbag 32 that they thought Owen and Yoko were involned with Headshrinkers turning face while you thought the story line was with Quebecers. I'm pretty sure thatin fact it was Yoko and Crush after WMX and they fought the Headshringers at KOTR94.

That's a possibility, but there wasn't necessarily an angle behind their KOTR 94 Tag Title Match.

Hey Rajah. Whats up with the hardcore title? When will the madness end with this 24/7 stuff? I thought that it was funny when Crash did it, but now its pointless. Do you think that the reason why they are puting Hardcore Holly in the Hardcore Division because not to prove that he is "HARDCORE" but that a certain "cousin" will win it behind his back and a new Hardcore/Crash feud will start? That's what I think, sonner or Later.

I agree. The 24/7 stuff is played out, and I don't like it anymore. Especially since most of the same pariticpants are involved, and I can't get into Raven when he's being used like this. I think Hardcore Holly deserves better and shouldn't be wasted in the Hardcore division. He's proved he's hardcore. Now it's time to move on.

Hey guys -- rocking site. Looking back to the last mailbag, a question came up about the switch in the UnderTaker's music from Kid Rock's "American Bad Ass" to Limp Bizkit's "Rollin'"

The change was made for copyright policies. Take the Napster situation to illustrate. Music is a unique product that the artist (author, performer, etc) copyrights, to make sure it is their product forever. If you are going to play that music or share that music, you have to pay a copyright or licensing fee. When the copyright agreement between WWF Entertainment, Inc. (WWFE) and Kid Rock's management expired, the management wanted too much money (in WWF's opinion) to continue using the song. Therefore, the WWF looked for a different thene song and they settled on "Rollin'"

Hope that helps!

It does. I'm aware as to why the switch was made, but the fact remains, I happen to like American Badass much better.

Ok i got one for you. Who do you think in the WWF would kick most ass if the fighting was real? I personally think that Test would. He's so damn big! He would for sure crack alot of skulls. I think that Rock could whip Stone Colds ass too in a real fight. Also, Kane would beat the Undertaker, but it would be a close one. Who do you think would be the best in a real fight?

I personally don't care at all because wrestling is not a real competition between two wrestlers. It's pointless to discuss. "Who do you think would win in a real fight? Chandler or Joey?" Doesn't matter, does it?

How do wrestlers with little to no knowledge of the English language (i.e. TAKA, Essa Rios, and Super crazy) call spots and work good matches?

The same way baseball players go over to Japan and communicate with their coaches and teammates. The same way Orlando Hernandez talks to Joe Torre. To an extent, wrestling is a universal language, and I'm sure they've picked up enough English wrestling jargon to be able to communicate at least a little bit with each other. I'd assume they probably have translators or other wrestlers or backstage personnel to help them fill in the gaps.

I got back into wrestling a little over a year ago after a long absence and since then have been catching up on recent history. I don't know if this has already been answered, but my question is regarding the events of Wrestlemania 15. Whose idea was it to put the Undertaker and Boss Man in a Hell In The Cell match? I couldn't believe what I was watching. The match was terrible! It's the only HITC where the action never left the inside of the Cell. In every HITC before and since then, someone has always made it to the top. That's why there's a damn ceiling!

I don't blame Boss Man for this mistake. He has his limitations and could never perform to the high level this type of match requires. So who decided to elevate Boss Man to HITC status? Did this person or persons have any idea what they were doing?!!! This has been bugging me for a while now so please fill me in on the details. Thanks!

Welcome to the wonderful era of Vince Russo, where two heel stables, the Corporation and the Ministry of Darkness, feuded with each other, just so nobody would care, and was wrong if they cheered either side. All the top Corporation guys were involved elsewhere, mainly in the WWF Title chase, so the head of the Ministry, the Undertaker, took on the Corporation enforcer, The Big Boss Man. The Cell was Taker's specialty match to an extent, so it was held in there. Not every match should feature a huge high spot; that way it's more memorable when they do happen. The Hell in the Cell match also wasn't heavily hyped, and wasn't the main event. No one expected Boss Man to do anything, and I don't think anyone bought the PPV just for that match. They bought it for Rock/Austin.
