rajah.com Mailbag
-By Kayfabe and Rajah

Alright, I have re-opened the Mailbag section with the help of two individuals, Kayfabe and Grandpa. Hopefully, it will work out better this time, as the above individuals will handle the great BULK of the emails.

Here are the steps to take if you like your question answered in the Mailbag section:

1. Please check to see that your question(s) have not been answered on any other sections of the page. Take great note of the FAQ Part I and FAQ Part II as well as the mailbag archives at the bottom of the page. .
2. Send a legibly written question or comment to mailbag@rajah.com. Please limit yourself to only one question per person per email. This allows us to update the mailbag more frequently.
3. ALL email sent there may potentially be included in the Mailbag. If you do not want your response posted, do NOT send it there!
4. If a name is included, I will post it along with the email. If you do not want your name published, do NOT write it!
5. Remember, it is impossible that every email I receive get posted on this page. Only the best and most popular questions/comments will likely make it on.
6. Also remember, that questions will be answered by either Kayfabe or Rajah, so any personal remarks should be addressed accordingly. The following color scheme will be used:

Rajah - GREEN
Kayfabe - YELLOW
Vegas - AQUA

Dear Rajah, Kayfabe, and Vegas
I remember back in 96 or 97 that there was a group called the Truth Commision that was managed by the Jackal. Can you give me any information about this group?

They were basically like McHale's Navy with a manager. Not really, but it seemed that way (and it might have been at least funny). With the trusty Jackal (Cyrus) leading the way, Kuragan, Recon, and the rest of the crew... that seemed to change by the week, basically wallowed in worthless angles until the group broke up, Kurragan took a job with the Oddities until that ran its course, and Recon is good ole' Bull Buchanan. All in all, it's little more than a blip on the screen of the time period..much less the WWF history.

Undertaker, and especially Billy Gunn are boring and I can't stand them. My favorite current WWf wrestler is Hardcore Holly. My question is, why don't they give him a push? He was getting good response from the crowd, with his outstanding dropkick and then the pose he did following it, and his move the hooly cause was badass. he is great mic worker and he is a great performer. Plus he was fighting Triple H on Heat and kurt Angle on Smackdown, before he was injured, plus he was getting very popular. So they reward him by taking his great music away, sticking him with Crash Holly, who sucks, keep him in the worthless hardcore division, and put him in useless fueds, plus they get rid of the great oppurtunity of a push with the steel plate in his arm. What is up with this crap, please try to shine some light on this situation because I can't stand it. Does anyone agree with me, Raj, Kayfabe, Vegas??

Hey I like Hardcore Holly, and it's well documented. Side note: Weakner has a theory that you can never bet against Holly on RAW..and it's pretty successful. Anyway, Holly is sort of a niche character. He's got the goods in many characters, but he's not a hugely charismatic guy.not to the degree of the Rock and HHH. Remember Sparky Plugg.enough said. In all, Holly's a good wrestler that entertains, but he's little older than the rest, and I guess he just missed his chance

OK, time for the mandatory butt-kissing. Raj, Kayfabe, great site. Anyway,I didn't see this in the FAQ, so I was wondering if you could clear something up. what was the the ECW invasion in 1997 that you refer to occasionally.I just want the basic history of it, like the wrestlers in it, any serious feuds, how long, and why ECW/WWF decided to do it. Thanx

In 1997, the ECW "took over" RAW, and they appeared a few times to prep the invasion. I remember Sandman spitting beer in the face of Savio Vega, RVD getting an impressive win, the BWO making its presence felt in the seats, and Sabu going all out in a nice match. All in all, it helped the ECW get some exposure, and, in the minds of some, gave the WWF a little piece of mind for basically stealing the ECW (ie. old NWA/progressive indies) format and revamping it as WWF Attitude.

In the bible, I believe in the book of Exodus, It talks about Joshua leading them to the promise land (Jericho) which was guarded by walls. The walls are known as the "Walls of Jericho" They break the walls down and go into the promise land. Does this have any religious significance to Chris Jericho?

Well, Jericho holds no qualms about letting people know of his faith, so that's a pretty interesting and valid assumption to make.

Hi, rajah, great site! I've E-Mailed you twice before and haven't got on your site yet, so could you please answer my questions and put me on your site. Thanks! The Oddities: Where the hell did they go? They were really over with the fans, but the WWF just seemed to throw them into Rubbish matches on Superstars against the likes of Too Much and the D.O.A during 1999. during 1998 the WWF tried but couldn't push them. Why? Kaientai: Indeed! To start off with their were four of these guys ( Yamaguchi-San, Togo, Tayo & Sho Funaki) then Taka Michinoku joined them. I can re-call this much from WWF P.P.V's during 1998 but can't remember how they deteriated. Can you? I think it would be cool to try and re-unite the other three members of Kaientai ( Yamagauchi-San, Togo & Tayo ) to help re-establish Kaientai as a main heel faction in the Federation, instead of just a joke! At least then they may be able to win a few matches against Hardy'z, E&C & Too Cool. Maybe even win Tag Team gold! What do you think? Gangrel: He has proved he can get Federation Superstars over ( E&C [ The Brood ] & Hardy Boyz [ The New Brood ] ) so why has the WWF relegated him to Metal/jakked stardom? I began to think, and thought it would be cool if he was teamed with Raven and they could be managed by Paul Bearer. It probably won't happen, mainly because WWF is clearing out all it's usless and un-wanted wrestlers in exchange for ECW talent ( they have already fired Viscera, Road Dogg, Mideon ) hopefully they will over look Gangrel. Maybe they'll even read this and consider my idea! Undertaker: All I have to say is that The Undertaker was far more 'over' when he was the man from the 'Darkside' than he is now as the 'American Fat oops I mean Bad Ass'! He shold turn back to his original persona and re-create the Ministry of Darkness! Hardcore Tag Team Championship: I seem to remember the WWF doing an artical on what the Hardcore Tag Championship could be like ( and this I thought was great! ) if it ever happened and that's all they did do. I thought this would lead to the title being created. I guess I was wrong. I think it would be cool if it did happen because then people like the Acolytes would get a shot at some gold, instead of just hanging around mid-card. The WWF could even just put it on a trial basis ( say 3 months ) if they wasn't sure about it's long term capabilities. Light Heavy Weight championship: what the hell's going on here, the WWF has a great Light Heavy Weight division ( Hardy'z, Too Cool, E&C, Essa Rios, K-Kwik, Dean malenko, Crash Holly etc. ) Maybe the reason that they don't do anything is because they are too busy with other things, and see the title as a step down, but I believe it could be over in a big way. Dean Malenko has held the belt since April 2000, he's set to loose it once he's fit enough to wrestle again to Lita, know that's a start let's hope it continues on to bigger and better things. The title would give all these young stars a chance to establish themselves in the Federation rankings. Please answer my E-Mail as it would save me from writing all this out again and again. Thanks again, The Burv

Alright, your wish is granted...but since yours is so long, you get the short version answer. The Oddities broke up since the gimmick got old quick (plus, anything with the ICP is doomed), and most are in the indies (Tenta and Kuragan) or Puerto Rico (Silva was there). Kaientai deteriorated once the WWF realized that no one in the US really cares since they speak little English, and I'm pretty satisfied with the role they have now considering the deep tag team pool. Gangrel was rumored to be working with a new tag team partner for a return, and he might do just that if he can make it past the WWF talent cuts to make room for ECW stars immigrating. The Undertaker is doing what he wants, and I'm happy with his career as long as he is. Hardcore is so over.let it die along with that tag team idea. I agree with you that the Lightweight Title could go far, but I'd rather see Dean loose it to a real competitor as opposed to flavor of the month Lita.

Hey Rajah, Great site!! Just wondering who designs the wrestler's clothes? I mean I am not a fashion expert, but Triple H needs some work. The Denim vest over the leather coat along with the tapered jeans...is that really tough? What do you think?

Well the WWF has a wardrobe portion, but often the wrestlers just pick the stuff up themselves. Heck, WCW's Lance Storm's wife makes his tights, and the Hardy Boys make their own outfits. Also, you may notice that some of the items are WWF merchandise, and that fact may explain some of the fashion discrepancies

Was wondering if Tazz was going to get a push again anytime soon, and why he's been scarcely used of late? He was the first one to beat Kurt Angle, so why didn't the WWF go anywhere with that?

The WWF likes him as an announcer, so he'll be in that role primarily in the foreseeable future. Maybe a large ECW influx could spark a change. I hate to break it to people, but there is a height stigma in the WWF, and the Human Spot Machine was just another victim.

Hi guys,
I was just wondering if you had any info on the activities of the Macho Man or Hogan at the moment, also do you think that we will see them in the WWF or WCW again.
Thanks guys

Hogan should be back in WCW soon, and the Macho Man has a role in the upcoming Spiderman movie.

Hey shouldn't Dubbya-See-Dubbya get in trouble because Animal wore an LOD tee-shirt? I thought the WWF owned the name "Legion of Doom" and therefore that tee-shirt would be a WWF product. Also, you can tell some "newsboard reporters" aren't very knowledgeable about past rasslin. Just recently, I saw someone saying that Hawk and Animal were the L.O.D. for 15 years. That is not true! They were only the Legion of Doom in the WWF. They were the Road Warriors everywhere else, including the AWA and the NWA/WCW.

Technically, the Legion of Doom moniker is a part of the Road Warriors entity. At one point in time, the names were almost interchangeable in wrestling circles. As far as the Triple Crown Champions (NWA, AWA, WWF) go, they hold the rights to the names, so Animal has the authority to do that. BTW, I hope you're not talking about rajah.com newsboard guys. They work hard and deserve respect....they've got mine.

Hey guys,
Thanks for having the best sight on the net. Anyways, I was wondering if you could provide some input on the eventual break-up of the Hardy's. Personally, I'd like to Jeff get into an angle with Michaels after the break-up, where Michaels would be a mentor to Jeff. I'd also like to see a Chyna/Lita angle sometime in the future. What do you think?

Well, there's definately been some speculation about the break-up, and it seems to be somewhat imminent as of now. Personally, I'd like to see them stay together. Like one reader wrote (I think his/your name was Gerber....but I lost the e-mail...hope I got that right), why would you want more singles wrestlers when no one's being pushed anyway? The guys are both pretty small, and, while spectacular, they just aren't ready to go main event (or even upper mid-card) at the current time. Nevertheless, Vince loves to break up tag teams (and the annoying practice of putting two singles wreslters together and putting the belts in their sights...), and he might be on the way to do that again. Anyway, what they are planning on doing as singles wrestlers remains to be seen...but I wouldn't be surprised to see Matt Hardy (the smartest worker in the business..inside joke) with the Lightheavyweight belt sooner than later.

Back in 1985, part of King Kong Bundy's gimmick vvas that he vvould alvvays ask for a 5-count instead of a 3-count. In his WrestleMania 1 pre-match intervievv, he said he was going to get the 5-count against S.D. Jones. why, then did he only get a 3-count and not ask for a 5?

First off, this is an awesome question. It's quite different than the average one..and it's old school. Thumbs up. Anyway, my guess is emotion. Wrestlemania is a big deal....especially for the first time. I'm guessing that by the time the match was over...people noticed, but at that point, it wasn't really all that important. It's just speculation from me, but I'm pretty sure that sums it up.
