rajah.com Mailbag
-By Kayfabe and Rajah

Alright, I have re-opened the Mailbag section with the help of two individuals, Kayfabe and Grandpa. Hopefully, it will work out better this time, as the above individuals will handle the great BULK of the emails.

Here are the steps to take if you like your question answered in the Mailbag section:

1. Please check to see that your question(s) have not been answered on any other sections of the page. Take great note of the FAQ Part I and FAQ Part II as well as the mailbag archives at the bottom of the page. .
2. Send a legibly written question or comment to mailbag@rajah.com. Please limit yourself to only one question per person per email. This allows us to update the mailbag more frequently.
3. ALL email sent there may potentially be included in the Mailbag. If you do not want your response posted, do NOT send it there!
4. If a name is included, I will post it along with the email. If you do not want your name published, do NOT write it!
5. Remember, it is impossible that every email I receive get posted on this page. Only the best and most popular questions/comments will likely make it on.
6. Also remember, that questions will be answered by either Kayfabe or Rajah, so any personal remarks should be addressed accordingly. The following color scheme will be used:

Rajah - GREEN
Kayfabe - YELLOW
Vegas - AQUA

is it just me? or other people sick of seeing the rock, and his hogan adrenaline rush?i , cant stand this crap of the rock being able to overcome, impervious odds and defeat about. four top wrestlers in the world, when he is being attacked. come on, lets make things a little realistic.

Oh, give me a break. Things are a lot more realistic now than they ever were in the Hogan era. The Rock makes comebacks because he's the money drawing babyface that everyone pays to see. It's what the people come to see. It's also the standard formula for a wrestling match: heel controls the middle portion, face comes back, go home. And the Rock has laid down for more people than any other top face has. He has never had a problem doing the job, and has laid down for Triple H, Austin, The Big Show, Angle, Undertaker, Benoit, and even Edge & Christian. Hogan was pinned exactly four times in nine years, and only one of them was clean.

Hi Rajah, this is nice talking to you. First off, I appreciate you helping my site get some hits by putting it on yours. I thank you. Second, Kayfabe says I am ripping him off. Well, I don't see it that way. you obviously know what the word KAYFABE means, so I don't have to tell you. It is a simple wrestling term that I think sounds cool, and that is what I was looking for. Also, if Kayfabe thinks I was copying his name, then tell him that it was a sincere form of flattery. I love coming to your site, and am active on the message board. I am THE KING, if you didn't know. I just have a website that I work on in my spare time. It is nothing else, and I would appreciate in the future if you would not put something up that tells false things about my site or me. I never ripped on any of the Rajah members, and what you say, you should make sure they are true. I will always come to your site for info,! but let me do my thing, and I will let you do yours.

Sincerely,
Cale Rustad

You don't have to talk to me through Rajah; I'm right here, and I was the one that mentioned your site here, not Rajah. I apologize if I made some uninformed comments, but you have to understand where I'm coming from too. I've seen many a site try to rip off Rajah, as far as copying his design and content exactly. So over the years I've learned to grow skeptical of other small new sites by "Rajah fans" in general. When people started emailing me congratulating me on my site, thus confusing the hell out of me, and I eventually find out that they really meant that it was your site, it wasn't hard to get the impersonation that the name of the site was conveniently tied in with my name and did nothing to state that it wasn't affiliated with rajah.com in any way. I am not saying you ever tried to impersonate me in any way, but you said something that hits home with me: "You obviously know what the word KAYFABE means, so I don't have to tell you. It is a simple wrestling term that I think sounds cool, and that is what I was looking for." Well, that's exactly how I chose my "name" over two years ago. People have joked with me for a long time now about making a kayfabewwf.com (not that I was ever going to do it), so to see it actually happen with someone else behind it, I was a little surprised and naturally not impressed. I know kayfabe is a common word, but once someone starts plugging his kayfabewwf.com site on rajah.com's message board, it didn't seem totally unlike what other past Rajah clones had done. Weakner is a word too, but if someone starts plugging a WeaknerWWF.com on Rajah's message board, it would seem to subtly indicate that Weakner, rajah.com columnist of over a year, is affiliated with it in some way. It didn't help things when I first checked the site (this was months ago, so maybe it has changed by now), and most of the content on the site, including all the TV Reports were taken and copied directly from Rajah's site. This did not help the perception in my mind that this was nothing more than another "Rajah clone". That said, the only thing that really bothered me was that people continued to believe it was me, and not much was done to separate Rajah and I from the site. I know you never ripped on anyone here, and I don't doubt that you're a fan of the site. I was more annoyed at the confusion that was created by the whole thing than by you or anything else. I'm willing to let bygones be bygones, apologize, try to make friends, and move on. You do your thing, I'll do mine. Now that this has hopefully been cleared up, I don't have a problem with you at all, and I wish you the best of luck. Deal?

I keep seeing different statements on who was the first WWF champion. I was always lead to believe it was Bruno Sammartino and yet a WWF trivia quiz told me the answer was Buddy Rogers. I know that Sammartino and Rogers held seperate belts and a match was held between the 2 in May 1963 to unify the belts and therefore Sammartino would be the first WWF champ. But the WWF themselves mentioned Rogers on WWF.com as the first champ. Who is the first WWF champion?

Rogers.

Rajah, guys, great site. It's always one of the first sites I check up on when I sit down at my computer.

I'll have to admit -- one of the best things about being on the west coast is going to RAW, driving home, and watching it immediately "psuedo-live". I used to live in Wash DC, and it was always a headache to tape it.

Is it just me, or would a lot of people want to listen to the matches being called while they're there (a la listening to play-by-play at baseball games on a walkman). Obviously, anything over the PA would just be hideous. Couldn't they just use a 5 watt transmitter or something, and keep in within FCC regs? The live crowd effect + nonstop JR shilling for WWF Vol 5 might be amazing.

It's a cool idea, but I don't really see why it's necessary. I know it's popular to do at baseball games (at Dodger Stadium it seems like 20% of the fans are listening to Vin Scully sometimes) but I don't see why it's necessary. It's not very popular at other sporting events, and at WWF shows part of being there live is to experience that live atmosphere first hand. You don't need announcers talking over that. Besides, the echo of the mat and the wrestlers on the house mic would probably sound really screwed up if you heard it over the radio and in the arena. And why would the WWF want to bother doing this in every city they visit? It's just not worth it.

Ok, I see you were talking about a AAA team in New Mexico which won't be named and the Simpsons in one mail edition...wasn't there a Simpsons episode were the baseball team was being moved out of Springfeild to New Mexico? Anyway, about oral sex...shouldn't this say July 2000? (Around Fulley Loaded) I love capitalizing on other's mistakes. J/k

Hell yeah there was. Where do you think I got the idea from? And yes, thanks to everyone that corrected my miscue from last week. The Jericho/HHH angle was in 2000, not 1999.

Hey, how come all these lousy fans like the Rock? Never have I cheered for that man who has no wrestling ability at all. Wouldn't a regular guy get up from the elbow anyway? The Rock is a useless wrestler. When JR said roster cuts would be made, I was hoping the Rock would be one of them. The Rock sucks. Am I the only one who sees that?

It's more delusional anti-Rock folk. I'm not the Rock's biggest fan in the world guys, but I have to come to his defense yet again. No wrestling ability at all? People with no wrestling ability at all don't have four and five star matches on a regular basis. They don't go for sixty minutes on PPV in an Iron Man Match. The Rock is far from useless. Do you have any idea how much money he brings in? That's what it's all about anyway.

I'm hoping that was a good piece of satire on your part.

Hey all, Thanks for the great site.

Anyway, I remember watching a long time ago a segment where Jake the Snake tied up Randy Savage in the ring ropes. Jake then took out this tremendous snake (cobra or python I think,) and it proceeded to bit the living $#!t out of Savage. The first time I saw it there were black censor bars over the bites, but then the WWF aired it uncensored and the snake actually appeared to be biting Savage on his arms/chest.

Of course, the snake was "de-venomized" (which was actually a big question in the angle), but if I remember correctly Savage did bleed from the snake-induced wounds. It sure looked real. My question is, do you know how the hell they did that? If it was real, than Savage has balls the size of grapefruits, if not, it looked pretty damn graphic. Thanks for reading.

You can't fake a snake munching on someone's arm for five minutes. Savage has balls the size of watermelons.

Is HBK coming or what? I got tickets for the Smackdown tapings on 4-10-01 thinking he would be there. What is the hold up?

His attitude.

Bad joke of the day: ABC and the WWF were engaged in talks late last week. Apparently, Denis Leary's new hit show is looking to add a few prominent WWF wrestlers to guest star in an upcoming episode. Shawn Michaels was amongst the talent that was asked to appear, but was outraged by the offer and refused to do The Job.

Told you it was bad. And before the hate mail starts pouring in, relax. I love HBK as much as all of you. The man is one of the best wrestlers ever and I'd love to see him back, but you've got to wonder. It's been well documented that he doesn't have the greatest attitude in the world.

This time, it's Kayfabe himself that messed up! Sparky, Flair had the NWA belt because the NWA at one point was short on money and Bill Watts (owner before Turner) gave Flair ownership of the title instead of money. Flair did wear the NWA belt a few times, but WCW sued him and actually eventually bought the belt back from the Nature boy. The belt that was blocked out was actually a WWF Tag Title I think and it was blocked out because (in the storylines) it wasn't a recognized WWF belt, but in real life it was because Flair was involved in the legal business with WCW.

Hey, I mess up all the time, but since when does omission constitute a mess up? Yes, that is the true story, but for a time, Flair did wear the actual NWA Title on TV, and at one point they started to distort it. It was later that Flair started using other belts behind the distortion. Must have been confusing for live fans.

Hey Vegas, Rajah, and Kayfabe, okay I just wanted to point out, that I believe the Central time zone gets PPV's live too, if they start at 5:00 in California, that means they would have to start at 7:00 here and they do. Also, thankyou for reminding me about the whole therory with HHH and Stephanie from that one Raw, it was the first time I read the site that that theory was posted up, and I thought kayfabe was so odd ever since. But, it actually did make sense after I thought about it. (your still odd KayFabe) Thankyou

Well what can I possibly say to that?

What's the deal with these one-day title reigns? I'm thinking Kane in June/98 and Mankind in Aug/99 with the world title and most recently, Undertaker and Rock with the tag-team titles. Don't you think it cheapens these titles to have them floating around like that? I mean, it's bad enough we have that ridiculous hardcore title. If these guys weren't "worthy" of being the champion, why give them the title for just a day? Maybe some of them become champions by accident and then the WWF quickly has to rectify the situation? That is, for whatever reason, the combatants couldn't follow the plan and had to ad-lib a different outcome, like when Angle accidentally broke Hardcore's arm (not a title match, but you get what I mean). Thanks gentlemen and keep up the great work!

One day Title reigns don't hurt anything when used sparingly, and in fact, usually create interest. It also goes to show that the Title can change hands at any given moment. It would be boring if every Champion was penciled in for the same set amount of time. Although once in 1994 the Tag Titles did switch hands accidentally, when Mable of Men On A Mission fell on Pierre and covered him, and the Quebecer was unable to kickout. The ref counted the pin, and MOM became Tag Champs. Two days later, the Quebecers regained the straps. Both matches occured on untelevised events during a tour of England.
