rajah.com Mailbag
-By Kayfabe and Rajah

Alright, I have re-opened the Mailbag section with the help of two individuals, Kayfabe and Grandpa. Hopefully, it will work out better this time, as the above individuals will handle the great BULK of the emails.

Here are the steps to take if you like your question answered in the Mailbag section:

1. Please check to see that your question(s) have not been answered on any other sections of the page. Take great note of the FAQ Part I and FAQ Part II as well as the mailbag archives at the bottom of the page. .
2. Send a legibly written question or comment to mailbag@rajah.com. Please limit yourself to only one question per person per email. This allows us to update the mailbag more frequently.
3. ALL email sent there may potentially be included in the Mailbag. If you do not want your response posted, do NOT send it there!
4. If a name is included, I will post it along with the email. If you do not want your name published, do NOT write it!
5. Remember, it is impossible that every email I receive get posted on this page. Only the best and most popular questions/comments will likely make it on.
6. Also remember, that questions will be answered by either Kayfabe or Rajah, so any personal remarks should be addressed accordingly. The following color scheme will be used:

Rajah - GREEN
Kayfabe - YELLOW
MTR - PURPLE

Why doesnt Kane do the tombstone anymore?(great site by the way)

The WWF really does not want any of their wrestlers doing piledrivers of any sort any more. He has done a couple since they have started this policy and it has been said he has to get permission. I am not sure if that is all true or not but it is known that the WWF no longer wants wrestlers to do piledrivers.

In the latest edition of the mailbag there is someone who comments on "Rock bashers". Though I can't speak for other people I do have a theory on the phenomenon. I have known a few people who have disliked him like you stated simply because he is (or was)on top, and because of his lackluster wrestling skills. However for me personally I have just become fed up with The Rock. To be honest I want to love The Rock like I did in his corporation days, but I simply rarely find him funny these days. THe last time I laughed at something The Rock did was just before the 6 man Hell In A Cell match in a great promo he cut on all his fellow competitors. Otherwise it is just the same stuff he's been saying for 3 years. Finally the point when I had just had enough was when the WWF was using him as filler. In each episode of Raw and Smackdown for a 2 or 3 month period he would either appear on the Trinatron or come out and stand on the turnbuckle without speaking. Sometimes this seemed to go on for as much as 5 minutes. During this period I become extremely bored by The Rock and even though he no longer does this as much I still don't feel the same. P.S. I also feel the same way about Stone Cold Steve Austin, they are both simply too predictable, and aren't skilled enough wrestlers to make up for it in mind (though Austin's heel turn is a good improvement).

Well there is not a whole to add here. I will have to disagree about the Rock's and Austin's ring skills though. They are both talented wrestlers that can carry a great match. Austin used to be better but injuries have really hampered him in the last few years. I don't think they are quite as predictable as everyone says either. I still love the Rock and I still love Austin and I don't get tired of it and I think they do mix things up enough to keep the fans happy. Just my view on things but I do like what you said though and thought it was worth putting up for others to see.

Love your site guys, visit it all the time, Will Chyna ever lose the women's belt? If not, will she become a female "Ultimate Warrior" and 'squash' her opponents in every match?

I am sure she will drop the belt and they will do it in a fashion as not to kill her character. My wife has a theory that they will have a no DQ match or something at some point and a lot of the women will gang up her and cause her to lose but that is just my wife's theory. Personally I think somehow she will just overlook someone and get surprised and lose the belt. Until then yes it looks like she will squash all her opponents though. Kind of sucks in my view that she squashed Molly Holly who could honestly wrestle circles around Chyna in my view.

hey guys- i know you hear this all the time but your site is truely great and professional....anyway i was just wondering how essa rios can work a match if he cant speak english? surely this lack of communication could cause confusion and danger his oppents and himself. thanx.nick from england

See even though he can not speak English does not mean he can not communicate with them. There are many ways to call a spot. You can just tap each other so many times or just say a phrase that he does understand, etc. Plus I would say that wrestling is just a universal language of sorts. Wrestlers go to other countries all the time to wrestle and have no problems for the most part putting on a good match without endangering anyone.

[This question is addressed to anyone who might want to answer it...] With the pink lights for the entrance, a bald guy with loads of piercings, a bald guy with very tight trousers and X-Pac, is the wwf trying to promote X-Factor as a Gay Rights Activist group? Thanx. Ed

Just because the WWF puts three guys together who fit gay stereotype characteristics does not mean that they are promoting them as gay or trying to appeal to a new audience. I have seen several people talk about how they think X-Factor is supposed to be a gay group and what not and yes I have gotten a chuckle out of the things pointed out to support this but honestly I just don't believe the WWF is going that route with X-Facter. Besides you would have to convince X-Pac to do it and I seriously doubt he would and if asked would probably complain to Triple H like it would do him good or something. Anyway no I do not think that they are promoting a gay activists group.

1 question and 1 comment/question... I know you, rajah and kayfabe (i dont think MTR did), have answered this question before in your mailbag. However, i couldnt find the mailbag its in. Anyway, what is the weight limit for the Light Heavyweight belt? Now for the comment... Did you notice that if Jericho gets a shot at Austin at King of the Ring, and wins the belt, he would be the ultimate grand slam champian. He would have won, World, Inter., Euro., Tag., and Hardcore. That goes back to my question. I know that Jericho weighs 231Lbs, so could he win the Light Heavyweight belt? If so, and he did, it would be awsume that he won all of the belts (except womens) in the WWF. I doubt that will happen though...

Okay let me see if I can answer this since I have not answered it before and that is probably why Kayfabe stuck me with it. That and he knows I love the lightweight division along with being a Jerichoholic. Yes I just admitted it. Anyway I think the limit is around 225 or 230. I think they bend it a little to fit their needs. Jericho and Benoit fit in the crusierweight division in WCW so you would think that they would fit here. Well I know that Jericho was pushing it in WCW and probably is over the limit. I am sure he could shave off the pounds though. Now I just want to point out that Benoit is a former WWF Lightheavyweight Champion back when the WWF did recognize it and it traveled around the world. He is also an ultimate(I guess you could call it that) WCW champion. He is a former World(has Heyman constantly reminds us yet I am not sure if WCW ever recognized the reign officially), US, TV, Crusierweight(as the Pegasus Kid), and Tag team champ. I seriously doubt that Jericho will be WWF champ anytime soon. I think that they are just elevating him up and seeing what the reaction is and buying time for the Rock to come back. Benoit is probably closer to actually winning the belt but in order for him to be a grand slam champ he would need the Euro if he were to ever win the WWF title. Okay I think I am done rambling now.

Greetings Kayfabe and Rajah, gods of the mailbag. And greetings to newcomer Millertime Rebel. I have to say that I love your site and I check it at least 5 times a day. Anyways....... As an avid Wrestlecrap.com visitor, I have come across a ceratin name many times: Cheatum, The Evil Midget. Now I dont know, but I think im speaking for a lot of people when I say....... WHO THE HELL IS CHEATUM, THE EVIL MIDGET? This has been bugging me and If I could get an answer that would be great. Thanks

Thanks for the grettings and for checking out the site every day like that. Are you hitting banners by the way? Now to your question. I don't think he is anyone real special or anything. I think he is just a guy that WCW happened to use a lot for those stupid mini-movies they would make to build up PPV main events. Honestly for those who have never been to wrestlecrap.com you should check it out. A lot of great stuff is there.

Hey Rajah, Kayfabe and the new guy, Which WWF wrestlers will most likely be recruited to the "new WCW"?

Just the new guy. Well I should just delete your email. Nah. I am not mean. Anyway I would say that D'Lo, Chaz, Tiger Ali Singh would be three off the bat to move over. Maybe some of the smaller guys to wrestle the luchadores. Some of the developmental talent will probably move over there to get tv time and beef up the roster a bit as well. Just my thoughts on the matter.

Hey Raj, I admit, I was one of the many that nearly pooped his pants when the WWF bought WCW. Here's my question: How do you think WWF will protect its brand image? I mean, the WWF has always sold the fact that to be the WWF champion is to be at the pinnacle of the buisness. So how can the WCW champion POSSIBLY defeat a WWF champion without lowering the status of the WWF strap? (The WWF did a WCW champion vs. a WWF champion with Benoit and HHH, when Benoit had to fight his way into the WWF. Sorta. . .) Thoughts??? Sorry this is long and sort of multi-questioned.

I am not Rajah but I forgive you and you even made it to the mailbag. Anyway. I doubt we will be that many if any WWF champ vs. WCW champ. I am sure we will see former champs fight but we already see considering the talent that has gone back and forth between the two companies. Trust me the WWF will not hurt their image or their title in anyway. Vince will never let that happen.

From: Bobby

Hi, great site. I have a question involving Linda McMahon. I know that in"real life" Linda McMahon is the WWF CEO. But, storyline-wise, aren't Vince McMahon and Shane McMahon Owner and CEO. Remember back when Vince revealed himself as the Greater Power during the Stephanie McMahon plot? Well remember, when Linda and Stephanie came out during that segment? Well Linda said she steps down as CEO and she gave Stone Cold CEO rights. Well that night, the new CEO, Steve Austin, came out and made a King of the Ring 1999 match. It pitted him up against Vince and Shane McMahon in a handicap match. Vince said under one stipulation. It was a ladder match with WWF Ownership and CEO rights hanging high in the air in a briefcase. Well Vince McMahon and Shane McMahon won making them have full ownership. Thanks please post this in the mailbag.

Well since you said please. Anyway basically you are supposed to forget about that match. It did not happen. Nothing changed. Linda is still CEO and everyone still has their share of the company. It is one of those things that they just decide to ignore and go on with life. So yes you are not imaging things but you are not supposed to bring it up. Just accept things as they are. This is where the WWF is really like a soap opera where they change stuff and age characters and you are just supposed to deal with it.

Usually I use the mailbag as an occassion to bitch about the underutilization of talent such as Gangrel, but this time around I want to know if you have any clue why the WWF tends to drop successful storylines without any explaination. I know that sometimes it is becuse they don't work (I'm thinking back a few years when Droz and Albert received help from a guy with long-white hair who looked somewhat like Edgar Winters...) but there have been some storylines that have just disappeared - GTV? The Angle-HHH-Stephanie love triangle? The tease of Essa Rios getting elevated through his brief feud with Angle? Billy Gunn seeking revenge on the rest of DX? Raven and Tori? A number of these angles could have been continued and used to successfully elevate new players to new levels...I mean, when Essa Rios and Angle stepped into the ring, there had to have been millions of people pulling for the upset - not that Rios is a traditional champion, but an occasional twist would be nice....I think part of the reason for the waning interest has to be, at least in part, due to stale storylines - how can we honestly accept a HHH - Austin partnership after all they had been through? And now it is OK to cheer for Rikishi again? And just why did he agree to run down Austin in the first place? There have been moments of brilliance, but I wish more effort would be put into the long term planning.

Well it just seems like we are just to accept things that we really should not have to. I never understood why they just drop storylines instead of just ending it in a way that makes sense and makes everyone happy. Unfortunately I guess they feel like there is not always time for that. I unfortunately we do not always know what something was dropped. That is quite annoying but there is nothing that can really be done about it. As far as long term planning goes it is hard to do in wrestling because you never know when someone will get hurt or if you will release them for some reason or if a family emergency comes up etc. They can only really do some short term stuff. Yes they do have a few long terms things that they would like to see happen but nothing written in stone. Like I said in an earlier answer. Sometimes you just have to accept things even though they make no sense just like in soap operas where they age people or bring them back from the dead or whatever. I wish I could tell you why that stuff was dropped but I can't. Just enjoy what you see and not dwell on it if I were you.

what has happened to Scott Hall ?

Well after being released from WCW he did some indy dates and he even did a one night show for ECW and looked like he had found a home but alas he got in more trouble with the law and Paul Heyman did not use him any more. He has been doing real good in Japan from what I hear and I have heard of him doing some indy shows down in Florida. It has been a while since he has been in any kind of trouble and he seems to be doing well for right now. Should be interesting to see what happens in the future.
