| rajah.com Mailbag -By Kayfabe and Rajah |
Alright, I have re-opened the Mailbag section with the help of two individuals, Kayfabe and Grandpa. Hopefully, it will work out better this time, as the above individuals will handle the great BULK of the emails.
Here are the steps to take if you like your question answered in the Mailbag section:
1. Please check to see that your question(s) have not been answered on any other sections of the page. Take great note of the FAQ Part I and FAQ Part II as well as the mailbag archives at the bottom of the page. .
2. Send a legibly written question or comment to mailbag@rajah.com. Please limit yourself to only one question per person per email. This allows us to update the mailbag more frequently.
3. ALL email sent there may potentially be included in the Mailbag. If you do not want your response posted, do NOT send it there!
4. If a name is included, I will post it along with the email. If you do not want your name published, do NOT write it!
5. Remember, it is impossible that every email I receive get posted on this page. Only the best and most popular questions/comments will likely make it on.
6. Also remember, that questions will be answered by either Kayfabe or Rajah, so any personal remarks should be addressed accordingly. The following color scheme will be used:Rajah - GREEN
Kayfabe - YELLOW
MTR - PURPLE

Dear Rajah,
Today (May 17) was a awesome day for me here in Evansville, IN. I
met one of the greatest script writers for the WWF and WCW. Vince Russo. I've
heard alot of crap about the man, but I didn't believe any of it. See I work
for a radio stantion here and we did a remote at a local gas stantion. While
there I was dressed as the mascot and doing my job when a van with two youg
boys and a older guy pulled into the parking lot. Out comes Vince and his two
sons. I walked up and ask him for his autograph his ask if I had a pen, I
said Yes. He then proceeded to tell his two boys "look I'm signing and
autograph for a Rabbit." It was cool and you know now I'm a big fan of his
and think he is very cool for actually not being a dick like most. Thanks
Vince Your Awesome....... Jason Lowe Evansville, IN
Thanks for the cool story. Russo takes a lot of abuse for what he did in the WWF and WCW, but see that: he's a nice guy.

Hey Rajah, Kayfabe, and the new guy,
Who are the five oldest and five youngest current WWF Superstars?
(By the way I think Kayfabe's a great n-name so u don't listen to what those other idiots say!!!!)
Thank you! I'm glad someone does. I don't know the top five off the top of my head, but among the oldest would have to be The Undertaker, Faarrooq, Al Snow, and the Boss Man, all of whom are in their late 30's. I think Dean Malenko is in his early 40's. There are a lot in that mid 30's range like Regal, Austin, Benoit, Bradshaw, Rikishi, Triple H, Saturn, etc. Some of the younger ones include Essa Rios, The Hardyz, Edge & Christian, Molly, K-Kwik, etc.

Maybe you can shed some light on something this. Back in 1996, why did Vince
McMahon allow Diesel and Razor Ramon to leave the Fed on such a promising
note? If I'm not mistaken, the last PPV that they both appeared in was the
IYH: Good Friends, Better Enemies where Diesel fought in the main event
against HBK and Razor Ramon fought Vader. Prior to that match, Ramon hadn't
been heard from on TV in about three months. It seems to me that Ramon would
have been an ideal candidate to put some of there up and coming talent over
(i.e. Triple H, Steve Austin, Mankind) Instead they just kept him off TV.
And why was Diesel main eventing at this time? Granted, HBK got a solid win
over him but Nash actually came out of the match looking pretty good. Why
would Vince want to give off the perception that WCW had one of there main
eventers. If nothing else, the Michaels vs. Nash match should have been a
"Loser Leaves Town" match much like the Perfect vs. Flair match a few years
prior. A simple stipulation like that would have made the whole NWO angle
less significant since there wouldn't have been any second-guessing as to
whether he was still employed by the wwf. So any insight as to why these two
got such a good send off? In my opinion, if these guys were utilized
differently, not only would the NWO have had much less steam than it did, but
the WWF would have been much more prepared for life after them. I mean,
weren't the next two PPVs headlined by Michaels vs the Bulldog? Pretty bad.
Razor didn't leave on much of a high profile note, as he put Vader over in a match that was barely hyped at all. He was off TV in the months prior to that because of a personal issue; it had nothing to do with his eventual departure to WCW. Diesel was viewed as a main eventer by WWF fans, so Vince did what he could and put Bret over him twice, put the Undertaker over him, then put Shawn over him one last time before he left. At the time it probably seemed like a smart thing to do; give the perception that all his top WWF guys were better than WCW's newest star. In hindsight, the Loser Leaves Town stipulation would have underminded the believability and success of the NWO, but hindsight is 20/20. He didn't know how WCW was going to utilize them, and he probably didn't want to make a big deal publicly about losing one of his top names. And hey, there's nothing wrong with Michaels/Bulldog.

Hey Rajah, Pete and MTR (the orange guy),
I was just curious how you guys rank the top five PPV matches of 2000.
Also, am I the only one who thought that the Wrestlemania main event was sooo
disappointing. A double blade job and kicking out of finishers doesn't make a
great match and when you compare the hype factor to the match quality I
though that it was one of the night's weakest matches. Anyway, do any of you
guys not think TLC was the match of the year? I thought it was the Cactus
Jack-HHH street fight. Please answer...
I didn't think it was disappointing, but I do think people are overrating it. The drama was there, and it was a good match, light years better than their Wrestlemania XV match which I also feel is overrated. As for 2000 Matches of the Year, I can understand some people being upset with TLC being up there, but I'm not. At the time it was an unprecedented spotfest, and the sheer entertainment and excitment that came out of it was unparalleled. The Street Fight was awesome, but I think people kind of overrate that too, if possible. My personal choice for Match Of The Year of 2000 might very well be the Iron Man Match between the Rock and Triple H. TLC and The Street Fight fall right below that, and Benoit/Jericho, Benoit/Angle/Jericho (a match I really loved upon second viewing), Cactus/HHH Hell In A Cell, Jericho/HHH Last Man Standing, the Wrestlemania Triangle Ladder Match (that I call TLC 0) and Rock/Benoit Fully Loaded all fall somewher below.

Hey, Rajah and gang...Great site, i check it out at least once a day, blah, blah, blah, etc etc. Okay, now tht i have the butt kissing out of the way, let me move on to my question. I just watched WM 13 for about the seventeenth time or so, and a thought just hit me...Shawn Michaels was phenomenal in calling the action in the Title match. He did put both guys over as great wrestlers, despite the fact that one was SID, he had some funny, snide comments for Jerry Lawler, and he made fun of Bret as well as anyone else i've ever heard. SO, that being said, and what with the currne state of affairs in the WWF is it too far fetched an idea to have him to do commentary with JR? Defineately sets up for a lot more interesting television...hey it can't be worse than the most recent subpar outings can it? Whaddya think? Hope to read this in a future mailbag.
Farfetched, probably. I wouldn't mind seeing Shawn back in that capacity but right now it's hard to envision him being back at all. He did some announcing on Raw in the mid 90's while he was injured and he was entertaining then. But man, of all the PPV's to pick to watch seventeen times, you pick Wrestlemania 13, one of the worst shows of all time (albeit with one of the best matches ever)? Ugh.

In response to the comment about no openly gay wrestlers in the wwf, this is not entirely true I believe. Triple H once stated on a wwf ppv that "i'm bi alot of things, but lingual I'm not" he has also made several comments to hbk on tv that could be taken in that context, such as "those shorts make you look like you're smuggling bananas" and Austin once refering to him (Trips) being "Half queer" this all may have been an angle, but i thought i would mention it in response. thanks for your time
That was all part of Triple H's DX character. He certainly wasn't gay, but they just liked to cause a lot of controversy, hence the whole "sausage" thing. It was funny when he accidentally dissed himself with the "bi" comment though.

Hey great site guys. I love the ppv flashbacks, by the way Pete does a hell of a job. Anyways after reading the SummerSlam '93 flashback you mentioned during the Steiners brothers match that Heenan said that the Steiners address was 18714 Grand River Ave. and that you thought he made it up. Well I am from the Grand Rapids area(hence on the grand river) and you are correct because I am positive that Heenan made up the road and address because I have never heard of that before. Just for your information if you were curious, thanks
Thanks Zack, I appreciate the compliment. Yeah, I figured The Brain wouldn't give away their real address on television like that.

Raj and the Gang,
I was a follower of WWF from 1987 untill Pretty much the great tuesday in texas PPV. I tuned back in a couple of years ago to see the Rock become the Corperate champion. Inbtween that time I have been told that there was a time when UT "died" and The Million DOllar man brought him back only to be exposed as a "fake" UT and that they even wrestled (fake UT andUt) against one another. My question is who was the "fake UT and what hapenned to him after that storyline finished? Pete you rule..and the rest are okay to I geuss...
The part was played by Brian Lee, and after that feud was blown off at Summerslam 1994, he disappeared and went back to the indies where he'd come from. Lee later surfaced in the WWF in 1997 as Chainz of the DOA.

Could you settle an argument?
I read on another site that Scotty 2 Hotty and Grandmaster Sexay were to be
married in a gay wedding ceremony at St Valentines Day Massacre 1999, but
the angle was dropped after strong opposition from Scotty, GMS and Jerry
'The King' Lawler.
However, my friends think it's BS. Can you enlighten us???
Rumors always had it that Vince Russo proposed that idea, but all involved opposed it. Lawler denies ever intervining in the matter, but regardless of whether he did or didn't, it never came close to materializing on TV.
From: Mankind
Hey sorry to hear about the whole "WWF is gonna dick you over and use chips
of bamboo to shove up your fingernails" situation. Ok, so maybe I did blow
that out of proportion a bit, but did you ever get an ACTUAL here-say as to
why the WWF wants your domain name? Pretty darn shallow if you ask me. So
ask me. Come on.
Rajah-How shallow?
Pretty darn shallow. So anyways...in order to put this in, I need a WWF Question. Ok, lets see. Will we ever see an Explosive 8 man C-4 Barbed Wire Flaming Table ladder hell in the cell match between midgets at a Wrestlemania?...I think we should. But then again I think we should drill the heck out of alaska for extra gas. Screw the wildlife. Thanks man, and if you dont put me in, I'll write back with even MORE wit and humor.-----Mankind
Now what am I supposed to say to that? And if you think the above is twisted, you should have seen some of the stuff this guy used to post on Rajah's old Public Forum. Hey Mankind, got any of those old posts archived somewhere?

Yo RAJAH Kayfabe and vegas,

I was wondering if Rynyo ever

Nope, Rhyno was never in WCW.

Yo, Raj, Pete, and MTR (who the heck is the last one??),
How do you get to the FAQ 1 and 2 for the mailbag? When I try to check them, it has an error page. Also are we going to see Joey Numbers? Tazz always mentions him on Heat, so I want to know if the Creative Team will bring a Joey Numbers character in the WWF.
The FAQ sections are being revamped and will redebut someday. For now, they are down. I doubt Joey Numbers will ever become an on screen character, but you never know. Stranger things have happened.

I was so pissed off to see that Jericho's mystery partner at Judgment Day was Benoit. I
was really hoping for it to be Shawn Michels or someone new from ECW or
a WWF wrestler returning. But Benoit, for god's sake we have already
seen these two together. I am very angry at the WWF for this and
something like this had better not ever happen again.
Can't say I agree with your logic there. That set up the top angle for the next month. Any other choice would have been completely illogical. And if someone like Shawn does return, should it be in a capacity as Chris Jericho's tag team partner at a nothing PPV? I don't think so. Not every mystery partner is supposed to be an unbelievably shocking revelation. As long as it goes along well with the storyline, which this did, it's perfectly acceptable. And the mystery gimmick, in this case, was probably only used to spike a few extra buys and explain a reason for Benoit wrestling in two matches in one night. I'm sure it was intended to be him all along. I have no problem with the way they did that.

Could you please tell me wether you think that HHH will make it to Rebellion at November 3rd as ive paid £511 for 3 tickets to go and see it mainly for HHH?.
It's all up in the air, especially considering that'd be a little over five months removed from his injury and it's supposed to take him four to six months to recover. I guess it all depends on how fast he can get himself back.
From: Becca
Hi, I just wondered what happened with Billy Gunn? I have only been
watching for a year and when he came back, I loved his character, but as of
late I have heard no mention of him. I hope his absence isnt permanent!!
He's been wrestling on Jakked and Heat regularly. Nothing creatively has come up for him the last few months, but a few weeks back he did turn heel following a loss to Matt Hardy on Heat. His father passed away awhile back and he missed a week of TV's, but other than that, he hasn't been absent at all.

I WOULD JUST LIKE TO MAKE A STATEMENT. I HAVE BEEN A HUGE WRESTLING FAN FOR
THE LAST FIFTEEN YEARS. AND I AM DEEPLY SADDEND BY THE REACENT TREND IN PRO
WRESTLING. I HAVE BEEN A HUGE WCW FAN OVER THE PAST YEARS. I DO NO NOT FEEL
THAT I WILL WATCH THE NEW WCW. I AM A HUGE FAN OF GOLDBERG, BIG POPPA PUMP
AND STING. ALL OF WICH I HEARD WILL NOT BE INVOLVED. SO FOR THIS I SAY WWF
AND WCW ALON WITH "VINNIE MAC" CAN BOTH KISS MY ASS. THEY LOST ANOTHER
VIEWER. AND WHILE I AM ONLY ONE, THERE ARE THOUSANDS, HELL MAYBE EVEN
MILLIONS MORE WHO FEEL THE SAME WAY I DO. F!@K WFFE!
