rajah.com Mailbag
-By Kayfabe and Rajah

Alright, I have re-opened the Mailbag section with the help of two individuals, Kayfabe and Grandpa. Hopefully, it will work out better this time, as the above individuals will handle the great BULK of the emails.

Here are the steps to take if you like your question answered in the Mailbag section:

1. Please check to see that your question(s) have not been answered on any other sections of the page. Take great note of the FAQ Part I and FAQ Part II as well as the mailbag archives at the bottom of the page. .
2. Send a legibly written question or comment to mailbag@rajah.com. Please limit yourself to only one question per person per email. This allows us to update the mailbag more frequently.
3. ALL email sent there may potentially be included in the Mailbag. If you do not want your response posted, do NOT send it there!
4. If a name is included, I will post it along with the email. If you do not want your name published, do NOT write it!
5. Remember, it is impossible that every email I receive get posted on this page. Only the best and most popular questions/comments will likely make it on.
6. Also remember, that questions will be answered by either Kayfabe or Rajah, so any personal remarks should be addressed accordingly. The following color scheme will be used:

Rajah - GREEN
Kayfabe - YELLOW
MTR - PURPLE

Donkey Kong asks.. Hey. Whatever happened to the Mean Street Posse? Yea, they sucked, but they just disappeared..

Well I know this has been asked and answered before but I thought one last go round would be fine. The Posse was sent down to Memphis to work on their skills. Let me tell you, they got a lot better and I loved watching them wrestle. I saw Regal and Pete gas put on I would say at least 3 star match at a house show. The fans were not quite into it because it was a technical type match but after Pete started working the crowd a little they were really into it. Anyway unforunate things have happened to the Posse. First Pete was sent down to Puerto Rico and then I guess it has been a couple weeks now they were all released. They maybe rehired down the road but for now they are gone because the WWF needed to make some cuts. Kind of unfortunate for them.

Hey Rajah, Pete, and MTR, great site of course. Just one question: Why does the WWF insist on changing finisher names? The "Olympic Slam" is an awsome name. The "Angle Slam" is ghetto! That's a terrible name! I think it has something to do with Angle's tougher image, slowly leaving the olympic hero image, but c'mon the Angle Slam? It sounds awful. And the impaler to the " unprettier"? WTF? Why not stick with things that work? Who cares if the impaler is related to Gangrel/The Brood, it sounds awsome. The "unprettier" just sounds gay(not that there is anything wrong with that). Also, while on the subject, why is Triple H's finisher called "the pedigree"? It's okay, just why is it called that? It was nothing to do with his current character. I agree with the guy who wrote in saying it should be called "game over". And it would be easy to change it too. Just have JR scream "Game Over!" after each pedigree, and the slow conversion would take place. I know I'm rambling, you need not answer this part, but WHAT IS UP WITH JR!? I know you guys are huge wwf marks (not a bad thing) and you love him, but WHY oh WHY can't he tell apart Edge and Christain! One wears a shirt, the other doesn't! Most fans can tell, and it's this guys job! Wouldn't that be a cool job! Sorry- I like to ramble. -Austin (plez answer)

Well since you said please despite misspelling it I will answer your questions even though you really are only supposed to ask one. But anyway for some reason I see fit to reply. Now I am not sure what the deal is with changing finisher names. I know that sometimes they do it to fit the character but if that is the case then why is Triple H's move still the Pedigree? I am like you. They should change it to Game Over! I could see it now. JR and Paul E. yelling Game Over and it sticking. Now the Impaler thing has been up for debate a lot in forums on the net. Seems that most people felt like Gangrel's finisher was just called the Implant DDT but according to WWF.com it is the Impaler. Well so basically Christian's finisher became the Unprettier I guess due to the fact that him and Edge are very vain. Remember all the poses and being on the cover of magazines. Anyway I personally think that they should be more consistant and either leave names alone or constantly change them as needed. Now lets get to J.R. I know that people complain about him getting people confused and names confused but give the guy a break. He has been doing this a long time and he does a lot of work besides annoucing. He gets most of the stuff right and does correct himself when he catches it. I know he is not perfect but he is still the best in the business in my book.

re: this question/answer; From: Ed [This question is addressed to anyone who might want to answer it...] With the pink lights for the entrance, a bald guy with loads of piercings, a bald guy with very tight trousers and X-Pac, is the wwf trying to promote X-Factor as a Gay Rights Activist group? Thanx. Ed Just because the WWF puts three guys together who fit gay stereotype characteristics does not mean that they are promoting them as gay or trying to appeal to a new audience. I have seen several people talk about how they think X-Factor is supposed to be a gay group and what not and yes I have gotten a chuckle out of the things pointed out to support this but honestly I just don't believe the WWF is going that route with X-Facter. Besides you would have to convince X-Pac to do it and I seriously doubt he would and if asked would probably complain to Triple H like it would do him good or something. Anyway no I do not think that they are promoting a gay activists group. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- can you please explain your answer to me? how on earth does a bald man with facial piercings constitute him being a homosexual stereotype? read your answer. it does state that. i know a lot of bald men with facial piercings, and none of them are gay. a man having facial piercings is NOT a stereotype to them being homosexual. your answer is like saying a woman with tattoos is automatically stereotyped as a biker chick. or a black man is automatically a criminal. or a jewish person is a cheapskate. very poor choice in an answer, MTR... what a bad way to make a first impression... kd.

You serioulsy misread what I said. I am sorry if it was not clear but you are way off base with what I was trying to say. I was at Pride Days in a big city not that long ago and there was plenty of bald men with piercings that were obviously with other men. There were some who were obivoulsy with other women too. I was not the only straight person there. Anyway it goes a lot of people get the impression from the looks of X-Factor that they are gay. Is it really fair for people to think gays are bald men with piercings and what not? No but that is the way some people percieve things including the person that sent in the email. It is a stereotype just like the stereotypes you pointed out. I just responded saying I had noticed it when it was pointed out but I thought it was very doubtful that the WWF was pushing them as a gay group. Anyway it goes yes being bald with a lot of piercings is a gay stereotype so what is the problem. I did not say anything bad about homosexuals. I know a lot of homosexuals and I am related to some too. I hang out with some and I even took my daughter to Pride Days. So I am sorry if I gave you a first impression and that you took my answer wrong but I see nothing wrong with what I wrote. I started to just email you but I wanted to make sure no one else was misinformed by my answer.

PG-13---Just to clear things up. PG-13 used to be with the NOD (Nation of Domination) for a short run. They used to rap the Nation entrance theme when the Nation came to the ring. However, it was short lived, the NOD would make them fight matches in their place, and PG-13 would get killed. Eventually, the Nation had a match, and they said if PG-13 lost, they would be out of the NOD. Well, PG-13 lost, and the other members of NOD beat down on them, that's the last i ever saw them on WWF TV. Ahmed Johnson--- Ahmed Johnson was in fact in the NOD. He was always fueding with Farrooq (i believe over to be the first black WWF champ). One night on RAW, Farrooq said there would be two new members of NOD that night. The first one was reveiled in the middle of the show, and it was Kama Mustafa (now the goodfather), and the other, revieled at the end of the show, was non other that Ahmed Johnson, who embraced his long time enemy and joined the Nation. I don't think he was there for long though before he was released by the WWF.

Okay this is one of many and I mean many responses I got about the Nation question. Let me try to clear some things up. I was pretty clear about saying I was really fuzzy when I was trying to answer the original question. This was during a period when I did not get to watch wrestling all the time and I have had to play catch up over the years. Now I just had a hard time beleiving PG-13 was part of the Nation but after I have been corrected several times I will take your word for everyone. Now I think people got the impression that I did not know who they were. That is far from true. I know who they are and have seen them wrestle live before down in Memphis. Wolfie-D(now goes by Slash) is a good worker in my opinion even though I have heard his attitude is not always the best. His partner on the other hand has never impressed me and has been on Jerry Springer too much for my tastes. Thanks for all the responses on this whole situation. I hope now we all know the Nation members.

In the last mailbag someone pointed out that Shane is supposed to be the CEO of the WWF after winning the ladder match at KotR '99, which is true, but he also said that Shane and Vince should have full ownership, which is wrong. I can't remember where I read it, but Linda and Stephanie never put their share of the WWF on the line-they simply used it to make Austin CEO. Then Vince and Shane put their shares on the line so Austin would put his CEO position on the line as well. Also, since Shane won, and he is a momma's boy, he might have given his CEO title back to Linda sometime later, which would explain why she is CEO now.

Okay here is the deal as the best I can remember. Linda and Stephanie used their powers to make Austin CEO since they owned half of the WWF. Austin of course ran a muck driving Vince and Shane nuts. The match was made where complete ownership would be on the line. All four McMahons put their fourths of the company on the line in the match. Austin put his CEO up for grabs by default because he knew if he lost he would not be CEO anymore. It was not CEO position vs. half the company. The whole company was on the line. Which is why it makes no sense that Linda came back later as CEO.

Hey guys, with all of the injuries that Kurt Angle received at King of the Ring, no one has mentioned yet that he got at least 3 or 4 teeth knocked out. If you watch the ppv tape you will notice he has his teeth still intact up until his first attempt at throwing Shane through the second piece of glass. When Shane lands the first time his head comes down hard on Kurt's face. If you look at Kurt after that his teeth are noticeably missing. I just thought I would pass that along. Also you guys do a great job! Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the information. I have not seen the tape because well I am too poor to watch PPVs since Rajah does not pay the help around here. I usually wait for months until it comes out on tape and then I watch it unless I get lucky and someone takes pity on me and sends me a tape. *hinthint* Okay thanks again for the info.

During this years King of the Ring, Kurt Angle tried to become first ever superstar that has defended his title. Yet, the next night on RAW, Billy Gunn complains that he was never entered in the damn tournament, or surely he would've done the same. How does the WWF pick their wrestlers for the tournament? And why do they not have angles explaining why other midcarders do not compete? Sure Edge deserved the title, but what about others who weren't entered? Help me out please. By the way, great site.

Well the WWF has to look at who they want in the tournament and who they want on tv and PPV. Billy Gunn was just not someone they have wanted on tv a whole lot lately so that is why he was left out. Then they did the short angle about him being mad about not being in the tournament. I think that during this tournament it was implied that the wrestlers entered themselves and were approved or something. There is never any explaination why people are left out of the tournament though. I think they do the qualifying matches to explain that wrestlers have to qualify to get in and are not just picked or something. It seems like a couple years ago when Gunn won it was the one year that they had 32 men instead of 16 in the tournament but I could be wrong. Maybe it was a different year. That gave more people a chance to be in with two rounds of qualifying as they called it. I am not sure if I have really answered your question but I gave it my best shot.

Hi Rajah I just had a question for you, Do you know of any WWF wrestler's that are from Australia and are still in the WWF today? If you could answer that question I would be very happy, Until Next Time, Simon

Well I am not Rajah but I will do my best to answer. As far as I know there are no Aussie's in the WWF. There has been some in the past I know. Bill Dundee was in the WWF at one point and time to the best of my knowledge and he is an Aussie who works down in Memphis now. So I hope I made you happy even if I am not Rajah.

From: James

DAMN! I am so fed up with people mailing in to ask about driver moves so I thought I would explain it using SIMPLE WORDS! Austin had his career and his abilities limited by a botched Owen Hart (RIP) inverted piledriver (not a tombstone as they originally called it). Triple H was said to have blacked out briefly after an Undertaker tombstone (I think at judgement day but it might have been in mid-1999). Other dangerous moves like the michinoku driver, hangman DDT, tiger driver 91, jacknife powerbomb, deep impact (a bit like the botched pedigree on Marty Garner), running powerbomb (which crippled Droz) etc are not used because they look good but the danger means its just not worth it. Therefore, the WWF has very strongly discouraged wrestlers from using such moves, although driver moves are the main focus here because the WWF has never used extremely dangerous moves like the deep impact, tiger driver 91 or hangman DDT. This means moves like the tombstone, piledriver, inverted piledriver and some forms of powerbomb are only used once every few months when both wrestlers performing the move have agreed to it. More dangerous DDTs like implant and super implant DDTs are also barely used. In fact the evenflow DDT is the only one the really use now. Yes these moves look good but I think they look even more powerful if they are used sparingly and if this had happened 5 years ago, Austin world be as good now as he was 4 years ago. At least the WWF haven't had fatalities in the ring like in some promotions in Japan and Mexico due to the dangerous nature of these moves. Right, that's it. If anyone ever writes into the mailbag again regarding this I swear I will stab, strop off their skin and dry it to make wallpaper. Put this in the mailbag or I will slash you're ass with a chainsaw.

Well I think you summed things up pretty well there. Nothing to really add except that the only reason I posted this was because of the threat. Personally I think you need to just sit back and relax and count to ten while putting the chainsaw back in the garage.

Hey all you hard working people at rajah.com. I am a die hard Kane fan, and also a fan of the Halloween Movie Series, which made me think about a question. Is it just me or is Kane's character alot like Michael's from Halloween? I mean, both were burnt when they were young, both were 'serial killer' type characters, and both sat straight up after being knocked down with extreme force. Maybe one of you guys could shed some light on this for me.

Okay I have never seen the Halloween movies because I am not into the slasher movies. I do know a little bit about them but my knowledge is very limited. I would have to say though that there is no connection though. I just do not see Kane as a serial killer and never have. Kane is just a monster of sorts that is just damn tough. There is no connection there.

From: Richard M.

Hey guys, I have a random question which has bothered me for a little while: the flying DDT that The Undertaker sometimes pulls out used to be seen a lot more in the WWF I believe, yet now it is rarely seen; I can remember one at the Royal Rumble and I think one at Backlash - my question is, all that being right, is it a disliked move much like the Tombstone is these days? Or just not used for no real reason? Cos it strikes me that it is one heavy looking move, potentially a finisher, yet it is rarely seen... As for Survivor Series you are so right, they should bring back the old matches, just one year at least. Cheers if this is answered, Richard M.

Please check out an earlier post and then lock your doors.
