| rajah.com Mailbag -By Kayfabe and Rajah |
Alright, I have re-opened the Mailbag section with the help of two individuals, Kayfabe and Grandpa. Hopefully, it will work out better this time, as the above individuals will handle the great BULK of the emails.
Here are the steps to take if you like your question answered in the Mailbag section:
1. Please check to see that your question(s) have not been answered on any other sections of the page. Take great note of the FAQ Part I and FAQ Part II as well as the mailbag archives at the bottom of the page. .
2. Send a legibly written question or comment to mailbag@rajah.com. Please limit yourself to only one question per person per email. This allows us to update the mailbag more frequently.
3. ALL email sent there may potentially be included in the Mailbag. If you do not want your response posted, do NOT send it there!
4. If a name is included, I will post it along with the email. If you do not want your name published, do NOT write it!
5. Remember, it is impossible that every email I receive get posted on this page. Only the best and most popular questions/comments will likely make it on.
6. Also remember, that questions will be answered by either Kayfabe or Rajah, so any personal remarks should be addressed accordingly. The following color scheme will be used:Rajah - GREEN
Kayfabe - YELLOW
MTR - PURPLE

Hello All,
I was looking at a 2002 calendar and noticed that Sunday, March 31st would be the most likely day for Wrestlemania 18. I also noticed that this day is Easter Sunday. Would the WWF have their employees work on that holiday? Will the be pushing Wrestlemania 18 to the following Sunday?
Easter isn't really considered a major holiday in the sports (entertainment) world. There are always baseball and basketball games on Easter, and there are even basketball and football games on Christmas and Thanksgiving. The WWF could make their talent work whenever they felt best, and I doubt Easter would be treated as a major concern. But that said, I doubt Wrestlemania will be on Easter Sunday, the reason being not because of talent, but because it would surely do fewer buyrates if it were held on a holiday when people are more likely to be caught up in the holiday and out visiting family and stuff. That's the reason Survivor Series was moved from Thanksgiving Day (or the night before), to Sundays.

Hello Rajah, Kayfabe, Mr. MTR.
Thanks for posting my RAW results on the net (from Tacoma, WA), it was nice to see something I wrote on the 'net. I visit your site at least once a day, and kudos are in store for all those involved. My questions stem from wrestlemania 3, which I saw for the first time this weekend. (Pete's PPV flashbacks have inspired me to seek out old WWF PPV's) In the Hart Foundation & Danny Davis/British Bulldogs & Tito Santana match, Jimmy Hart is the manager for the Hart Foundation. Is Bret Hart related to Jimmy Hart or is it all a work? It seems odd, because they bill Jimmy Hart as the "Mouth From the South" and everyone knows that Bret is Canadian. Also, what is the relationship between Neidhart and Bret (besides being Tag Partners), if any? Lastly, what are those ropes the wrestlers are attached to the ring with in that match? I hope you can answer my questions and keep up the good work.
Jon Perez, elevenball_99@yahoo.com
Wow, I'm a source of inspiration now. Sweet. Anyway, Jimmy Hart is not related to the Hart Family, Bret and the Anvil are brothers in law, and those ropes are the tag ropes! Don't get me started on the tag ropes! Why they no longer exist is far beyond me. The concept is simple: the tag ropes are there in a tag team match. The person on the apron has to be holding onto them when they get the tag. Makes sense, right? Of course it does. Without the tag ropes, what's preventing the guy on the apron from walking all the way across the ring to the adjacent corner to get the tag there? Nothing! It's ridiculous when you think about it. I say bring back the tag ropes!

Hey guys? This is a great site. Anyway, i was wondering what the blonde
bitch project was all about? I only saw one promo for it and don't know the
what or who it was based on. Thanks alot!
It was a parody of Sable that never went anywhere.
From: Lenny
Wasn't the first interpromotional match shown on tv technically the
Rhyno vs. Mike Awesome hardcore title match?
Nah, I don't consider an improptu pin like that a match, but that's just me. Guess it depends on your interpretation of the term "match".

does it bother anyone else that the apa's tshirt says "always pounding ass?"

Greetings from sunny Scotland!
I read in Mick Foley's first book that Ron Simmons was a 'true football legend,' and I always used to hear Jim Ross babble on about how great he was. Living here, where we play a sport (albeit not very well, as a smart arse Englishman will most likely tell you- Skroo the English!) where you actually use your foot to guide the ball and not your hands (Hence the name football- not soccer), so we don't know shit about that abortion yanks call football. Except for some sad fuckers. Anyway, what did he do to be legendary? Foley mentioned that he was a 'Heisman trophy candidate.' Any Insight would be greatly appreciated.
He was a collegiate star at Florida State. The Heisman Trophy is an award given to the best college football player in the nation each year.

Hey Rajah, Kayfabe, and MTR!
Good site, I visit it on an hourly basis (and I'm not embarassed to admit
that).
Here's my query:
Where did the wrestling terms come from? Did the WWF make them up, or did
some other source make it up? What are the origins of things like : Face,
Heel, Jobber, Kayfabe etc...
If you could please answer this question it would be greatly appreciated!
That's just jargon that's been around forever. I'm sure much of it dates back decades and decades, back to the days when wrestling was much more territorial. A lot of it is derived from old carny talk, and we all know what kind of people carnies are. On a somewhat related note, the carny episode of the Simpsons with Cooter and Spud is definitely one of my all-time favorites.

Hey, guys great site, blah blah blah insert more suck up lines okay just
curious. Sandman was the beer drinkin' kendo stick whackin' hardcore
mother f___er from ECW. I'm curious, didn't he do a brief stint in WCW
back in '99 as "Hardcore" Hack? Because the two had the same
showboating, same sig. weapon(kendo stick), same looks, and they both
;oved hardcore. Maybe I'm just imagining but could you guys clear this
up for me? Thanks.
Yes, he did.

Hey, raj, pete and mtr. The usual "your sire is the best ever" comment.
Anyway, I was just watching Malcolm In The Middle, and in the opening
credits we see Bret locking on the sharpshooter to an opponent. Who is he?
I think it may be Benoit, but anyway who is it?, what match is it?, and when
was it?, as it has been annoying me for months. Thanks
Yeah, it's definitely Benoit. Not sure what match it's from, but it could very well be the Owen Hart tribute match.
From: The Cheeseburgular
Hey Raj, Pete, and the Rebel himself, it's me the Cheeseburgular back again.
I got another question for you, and as always would apreciate if you would
answer it. So here it is, how does Tajiri perform the GreenMist, does he
hold in his mouth, or throw- it - up or something? Thanks for your help,
keep up the awesome work.
He puts the packet in his mouth at the appropriate time (or depending on the length of the match, may keep it in there the whole time), then chews it up, and spews it when ready. It's as simple as that.
From: Rob K.
Hey,
Great site. Question and comment
Kayfabe, you are a fraud [no offense] I was in the Mall of AMerica and in a
bookstore I found a book, "Kayfabe Wrestling, the Story on Professional
wrestling" or something similar to that. So unless you wrote this book,
your busted!!! I don't know exactly what your busted on, but your still
busted. Fess up!!! [Sorry if this was already public knowledge]
And, in the 1992 Royal RUmble, is it true that Max Moon and another guy were purposely not in the ring together [the other guy was threown out right before Moon entered or other way around] because WWF officials feared that the two would get in a legit fight because Max had been going out with the other guys wife's behind the other guy's back? Yes or no? Thanks
Ha, I know that first part was a joke, but you have no idea how close to home it hit (maybe I shouldn't be making inside jokes that only a handful of people will understand). Anyway, as for your question, it was '93, the other guy was Tatanka, and as far as I know, that's the truth. Can't be positive though.

I bought tickets to summerslam, and because I waited to buy my tickets, the
only cheep tickets I could buy said "partial view." I bought the tickets,
because even if I cant see anything, its worth it to be at summerslam. Just
out of curiosity, does anybody know just how much I will see, or exactly what
partial view means?
It probably means your view will be partially obstructed because you're sitting behind the Titantron and the big entrance set.
From: Aron and Daniel
Dear Rajah, I have wrote to you in the past about kane
being ruined, now i write to you about undertaker and
kane. now you said there is no such thing as
backwards progression, there is such thing, all you
have to do is have undertaker turn darkside again and
physicly and mentally abuse kane......again. and for
his sleeve put him in an inferno match and burn his
right arm. there's backwards progression for ya. Now
for the undertaker, I will turn it over to my friend
Daniel.
Now In my opinion the American Badass is a good thing, unlike what Aron says. There is some problems though. His mic skills aren't as profound anymore. I cheer for him because he is a face. At first I too hated him but I have grown used to him. But in my opinion Undertaker should become the Lord of Darkness again before he retires. The reason for this it would make his retirment more special in my opinion. For his last match I don't think Undertaker should loose. Thats what I found wrong with Mic's retirment, Mic should have anounced his retirment on TV and had a big match to say farewell. But oh well. Undertaker Vs. Austin in his final match between old rivals. And when Undertaker leaves he should appear on the titontron for his final words. "Undertaker will now Rest in Peace". Now for the question that has nothing to do with this e-mail, although it has to do with both UT and Kane. At there first match at Wrestlemania 14 I think Kane should have won. That would have progressed the storyline to a more tollerable level by haveing the Undertaker have to come back from that in the Inferno Match. Do you think Kane should have beat him?
As far as the Wrestlemania XIV thing, I kind of like the way it went down, but in hindsight, yes, a Kane win would have also made sense.
First off, I think it was me that wrote that backwards progression line, not Rajah. My point wasn't that it can't be done. My point was that it shouldn't be done. Why not bring back DX too while we're at it? Let's relive 1998 all over again. Why not bring in Hulk Hogan? Then we can have the simpler days of the 80's back. Times have changed and if there's one thing wrestling has proved over the years, it's that to keep fan interest things have to keep evolving. That's the nature of the business, and that's the way it will always be in general.

Dear Rajah,
I know that the Hart-Austin feud has been over for a long time. However one question continues to bother me: Has Austin ever pinned Bret Hart? I'm pretty sure he never did on television but I was hoping you could send me the results of a house show that he pinned Hart. I hope you can find the time to answer my question.
Interesting question, but like the Rock/Austin one I can't think of one off the top of my head. I'm sure he has at some point, but we don't have house show results dating back that far.
From: Peelius
Why did the Rock wear those black pants with the white stripes on them
(Adidas?) instead of his normal tights in early 1999?
Because he would have looked stupid wearing his tights under that big matching black shirt he was wearing. It would've looked like he wasn't wearing any pants! And before everyone starts asking, the reason he wore the shirt is because he had surgery to remove some extra fatty tissue from his pecs.
