Hi! I'm a long-time visitor but its my 1st question.

I was reading your PPV flashbacks and checked out the 1st "In Your House" Do you know who owns the house in Orlando Florida, or has it been bulldozed?

I actually have no idea whatever became of the house. I think I remember hearing something about the family of the kid who won it selling it, but I can't be sure. I have no idea why it would have been bulldozed.

"Now Kane, Chris Jericho, and Jeff Hardy fall under the category of winning four different titles but not the four that the are looking for. Kane has held WWF, IC, Tag, and Hardcore. Jericho has held IC, Tag, European, and Hardcore." You forgot Crash. Crash is also a 4 title winner. Hardcore, Light Heavyweight, Tag, and the Euro titles.

"I guess you have a point there except the match between Awesome and Tazz was on tv and not PPV and Tazz wrestled Triple H on a Smackdown but he was on Raw and Smackdown with the belt. If you really want to get technical there was that ECW Invasion way back when."

If you wanna get even more technical, I'm pretty sure there were NWA/AWA matches. I can't think of any off the top of my head but I think Ric Flair/Terry Funk was one.

"Yeah, a lot of the music was recycled. Nikolai Volkoff did use Borga's old music, and I think the Iron Shiek had someone else's too, but I can't remember whose. I'm not sure about The Gang either. I can't remember who used what entrance music."

Iron Sheik came out to Tiger Ali Singh's current music.

I think far too many people make far too big of a deal over -insert name here- has held -insert number of different titles here-. As far as cross promotional matches, it depends on what you consider. Yes, NWA Champion Ric Flair and WWF Champion Bob Backlund wrestled to a draw in the early 80's. But long before then different territories across the countries would cross promote cards with one another. The Tazz to ECW thing was pretty unprecedented. But as far as the Invasion angle goes, I think the first "inter-promotional" matches (which weren't even true inter-promotional matches anyway since everyone involved was under contract to WWFE) occurred at house shows this summer.

Um, none because if you go back and read that, I was of the same opinion as you, that there had surely been a time when the Undertaker had been Rock Bottomed.

Hey everyone at RajahWWF. I just have a question concerning JR. A while back,I saw the October '96 IYH, Buried Alive, and JR's headset was cut off. Ofcourse, JR then went into the ring and started ranting about how Vince firedhim a few times. Anyway, was that whole rant scripted? And, if JR was firedprior to this, then could you tell me why? Thanks!PS~ No offense, but is it really necessary to suck up? I mean, if all thesepeople are here, asking the questions and stuff, I think they really like thesite. And just for the sake of possibly getting my question answered... Nicesite, keep up the good work!

Yeah, that was a work. It was during the whole "JR is bitter towards Vince" angle of late 1996 that brought such atrociousness as the fake Razor Ramon and Diesel to the WWF, but also provided for some hilarious and brilliant commentary between Vince and JR. If you really want to think about it, it was that angle that really helped first introduce Vince McMahon as "more than just a commentator" to the fans on WWF television. This of course paved the way for the '97 screwjob and the Austin/McMahon feud that defined the successful Attitude era of 1998.

PS- When skimming over the emails, it's actually tiresome to read the extensive "kissing-up", so really the misconception that "sucking up" will get your letter in the Mailbag is something that you readers make a big deal about, but we don't even acknowledge. That's not to say that we dislike it. I mean it's always nice of everyone to give us compliments and it's very flattering; it just doesn't have any bearing on whether your letter gets in, and I just want to make that clear.

Hi to Rajah, Pete and MTR- your site kicks!!!!

Anyway, I have a question regarding Kurt Angle. No, I'm not going to ask you if Kurt Angle really is his name, or if he really won Olympic Gold. Don't you think that Kurt's 2 runs with the WWF Championship have been reduced to an absolute joke? Consider this. When Kurt beat The Rock at No Mercy, he needed the help of the wonderful Stephanie. From then on, he constantly gained assistance and DQ's when the mighty E&C interfered constantly, and screwed the Undertaker using his brother. He would have lost to Stone Cold had it not been for HHH's interference, and vice-versa at the Royal Rumble. The only clean win Kurt had was at Armageddon in the 6-man HITC, which he was promoted as having absolutely no chance of winning because of its brutal nature and Kurt's wimpiness.Well Kurt wins, but he hardly brags about it at all, when you would expect him to be milking the win for weeks. Kurt's reign was turned into a joke. I know he was a heel, and a wimp, but Triple-H's reigns (all as heel) have meant a lot more and been a lot more sucessful, as have Stone Cold's last 2 reigns. And what about the Undertaker's reigns as a heel champ? And Kurt's 15-day title reign second time around was a joke again- he defended the belt once on TV I believe, before losing it back to Austin. What did this accomplish exactly? I know it was capitalising on his pro-USA angle, but the reign meant nothing. I just want your opinion on this. A worker as talented as Kurt Angle should be given a better run with the title. What do you think?

Part of it has to due with the character. I agree that Kurt was made to look weak in his first Title reign, but when all was said and done, it still had to be considered successful, because they kept it away from Austin, Undertaker, The Rock, and Triple H long enough to give Kurt a solid and equal reign as the others (in terms of length anyway). I think that put Kurt if not on an even plane with the four aforementioned names, at least right there with them, and ahead of the Kane's and Chris Jericho's of the world. He was undoubtedly considered in the WWF's top five for all of 2001 because of that reign. If you think about it, Angle really helped prepare Chris Benoit as a legitimate main eventer and contender to Steve Austin's WWF Title (albeit briefly) by giving him the rub in their feud last spring. I agree that Angle's Hell In A Cell win was not put over enough, and a clean win over Triple H and/or Austin along the way definitely would have helped, but in the end Angle turned out okay. In fact, they really made him into more of a credible threat right after he dropped the belt by giving him the anklelock and turning him into a badass that could snap at any given moment. So that loss was what was necessary to give him that missing spark.

The second reign is a different story. It was never really allowed to succeed. Angle was getting so over as a face that it was simply necessary that he go over Austin for the TItle at Unforgiven to blow off their feud. But by the same token, to go along with the Alliance angle, the WWF really needed the Title on Austin, so the reign was destined to be a short lived one. In hindsight, I don't see why they couldn't have put off his losing the Title until No Mercy. I guess the reasoning there was because they wanted Austin to pin RVD to "blowoff" that feud that never really went anywhere in the long term after months of teasing, and had he won the Title by doing that, it would have made Austin look weak since he didn't beat the Champion and never got his win back. But hey, we got an awesome seventeen minute match on Raw out of it, so I'm not going to complain too much.

Hi Guys, please help me with this one. Is HHH (Paul Levesque) born in Montreal ? I've heard all kinds of stuff, but no one has ever been able to confirm it 100%.

Trips is from Massachusetts.

From: Dusty I noticed that Shawn Stasiak was looking particularly....er.....red on Smackdown tonight. To quote Hurricane...."Whas up wit dat?" It wasn't even a bit flushed.....it was like he was laying in the tanning bed for the last 2 months! Any explanation for this?

He was probably laying in the tanning bed for the last two months.

Heya, guys. Great site! Anywhoo, in your Mailbag #44, I saw a question about if someone not involved in a Ladder match grabbed the belt, would he become the champ. That brought a question to my mind:

In a Triple Threat Match, who would win on a Disqualification? The disqualee or the third competitor? (Not the disqaulifer)

Same logic as the answer to my other question. That's why we've never seen a lame-o DQ finish in a triple threat match. It would make everyone look bad.

I was just wondering if anyone knew where i could find some pictures of Bill Eadie on line, the original "Smash" Thanks.

I'm not sure, but Eadie was Ax; Barry Darsow was Smash. When I'm looking for things online, I always use a search engine as my starting point. Just try yahoo.

They're going through a divorce, which sure made the poor King look like a major sucker before Vince gave him his job back.

Rajah, MTR, Kayfabe, Hi. I have been visiting your site for quite some time now, and after reviewing some of the more recent mailbags, I was inclined to ask a question. A lot of the people who write to the mailbag say something along the lines of who they think is being underpushed and who they think is a good wrestler who isn't being utilized. Basically, my question has to do with the opinions of you three. What are your criteria for a "good wrestler"? Who do you consider to be the good wrestlers in the WWF/Alliance? This should help clear some issues and perhaps keep people from mentioning those wrestlers not included in such a lofty and unused basis. If you don't want to answer this, it is understandable, since I am sure you will also receive mail talking about which wrestlers were excluded. Thanks.

Eh, it all depends. That's why I don't like those questions. All these people argue that their favorites are "good" wrestlers. Well that's fine, except that the word "good" isn't very descriptive and the criteria on one list may differ from that on another. The WWF certainly has a lot of good wrestlers. Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko are "good" technical wrestlers, in that they can have great matches with anybody. But that hasn't gotten Dean Malenko a ton of TV time in his WWF stint, has it? Pushes depend on a number of factors, including but not limited to: politics, patience, luck, mic skills, ring skills, and your ability to get over with the crowd, not necessarily in that order. The best wrestlers usually combine all of these aspects. Just look at the top guys. People pay money to see the Rock. He knows how to pop a crowd, he's dynamite on the mic, and he has some great matches in the ring. As for guys that I think could be top guys some day, I'm partial to Christian , Edge, Val Venis, The Hardyz, Lance Storm, etc. And I still say X-Pac has something to salvage because he has the potential and as long as he plays the backstage game, he'll always be around to receive all the opportunities he needs.
