When do you think John Cena will introduce his Prototype character, as
seen in OVW? On the subject of Cena, how old is he?
If you mean when will he actually be known as Prototype, probably never. I think I mentioned this in the last mailbag, but Vince McMahon doesn't really like latching onto gimmicks and ideas that are not his own, which is why Cena didn't enter as Prototype. The only thing different going on with him right now and in the near
future is that he's a heel and the WWE bookers are working at giving him more mic time as they feel he is one of the few young wrestlers who has strong interviewing skills. I can't remember the exact age John Cena is (they may have mentioned it on a recent Confidential that focussed around Cena and his childhood) but I would guess he would be in
his mid-20s.

This has been discussed over the forums and I was wondering what do you
guys, the wrestling experts, think will happen at Royal Rumble now they
have two World title belts?
Like anyone needs me to say this, but there is still no definitive word on what they will do for the Royal Rumble. There have been numerous ideas proposed, including one where there would be two smaller Royal Rumbles instead of one big one, with each representing the respective
Raw and Smackdown! brands and then with the winners wrestling the champs of each brand at Wrestlemania. However, I believe this idea has officially been scrapped and my guess is that they will just stay in line with the 30-man Rumble and have the winner face the champion of whichever brand he belongs to. So for example, if Kurt Angle wins
the Rumble, he faces Brock Lesnar or whoever is the Smackdown! champ at the time of Wrestlemania.

FINALLY, the Mailbag has come back to rajah.com! Great site guys. I have been racking my brain trying to prove to my buddies that Booker T. actually beat Goldberg in a title defense on Nitro. The match happened while Goldberg was a heel and as best as I can remember, the match wasn't even the main event. Anyway, the finish came when Booker hit his Bookend finisher and scored a seemingly quick-counted pinfall. Tony Schiavone(I know that spelled wrong) didn't seem all that excited although it was the only time Goldberg had ever been pinned clean. Did that match actually take place, or is all this a figment of my imagination? My sanity depends on this.
I believe you are correct. Booker T did in fact pin Goldberg sometime in the middle or late 2000. It was one of Goldberg's few Nitro defeats, as I believe he also lost at least once to Bret Hart. I'm admittingly a WCW non-expert so if I'm wrong, someone will probably send in a clarification for the next update.

I remember back in ECW in 1995, before every TV show they used to show music video's with added ECW footage, a lot like the WWE's "My desire" videos. The only difference was, ECW were using big names(at the time) like Nirvana's "Heart Shaped Box" and Alice In Chains "Man In The Box".ECW was a small company, And I doubt they could have afforded the copyright to these songs. How come the WWE is a huge global company and they have to use these pathetic un-signed cliched bands, and can't seem to afford, or dont seem to be willing to pay out the legal fee's on some of the bigger names in the music industry.
I think there is one good explanation: WWE likes to market their theme songs as part of CDs. Since most of their music are made in-house by Jim Johnston or sung by bands which they have struck deals with, it allows WWE to release CDs with these theme songs on it and then make whatever profit they are entitled to off of sales. If they used songs from bigger bands, they would need to get an agreement in place if they were to profit on it. In ECW's case, they just used it on their shows and I am guessing they and everyone else is free to do that (there aren't any laws that say you can't play so and so song in front of a live audience but there are laws that say you can't market that song
as your own and sell it, etc.). Anyway, that's what I think.

Way back, on an episode of Saturday Night's Main Event, there was a feature match of The Ultimate Warrior vs. Super Ninja. It was a total squash and The Warrior killed him in about 3 minutes. Super Ninja looked like Bobby Heenan in a mask, as he looked a little chubby and got no offense. We were never given an explanation, never told who Super Ninja was, and I do believe that was Super Ninja's one and only WWF match......so my question is, who on Earth is Super Ninja, and why was that match ever booked in the first place......I remember my brother and I were very confused then, and it seems even weirder now.
I hope you can remember this.....
I clearly remember that Saturday Night's Main Event, in fact I may still have it on tape. Anyway, the Super Ninja I as I believe he was called was not Bobby "The Brain" Heenan. The man playing the role was someone named Rip Oliver, who enjoyed average success wrestling under his real name. Super Ninja wasn't intended to be a long-term character, just someone for Warrior to go through as he worked towards a rematch against the Honky Tonk Man which is why the match was a squash and why we never
really heard of him ever again.

Hey there fellas. I'm glad to see you guys did a new edition of the mailbag, its always been one of my favorite features on the site. In the latest mailbag (#50), someone wrote a letter saying that the "blonde woman being stalked by DDP" and the "Brunette named Victoria that has his baby" are the same people. I'd never say I was positive, but aren't Sara (Undertaker's wife) and Victoria (contender for the women's title) completely different people? Sara may bleach her hair, but I'm still fairly positive that they are different beings.......
Oops, I guess I didn't read that question very carefully, specifically the part about Victoria. Okay, first of all Victoria (Lisa Marie Varon) who is currently feuding with Trish has nothing to do with this storyline and never has. Next, Sara (the Undertaker's wife) was a blonde when we first saw her in the stalking angle but she went back to her natural hair color of brown when we last saw here as the pregnant wife of Taker during the Brock feud. I guess the person who originally wrote in assumed that Sara changed from the first and last times we saw her and that Victoria was the "new" Sara. Hope that
clarifies everything.

You guys have said that Paul Heyman is vocal backstage and has that "political" power to change and impact what happens on WWE programming. Does he only work backstage for one program, and/or does he does only impact past ECW stars?
Yes, Paul Heyman does have a lot of creative power backstage, but he only controls the Smackdown! brand and last I knew, has no control over what happens on Raw. When the brands split, Vince kinda made up two writing teams to head each show with Stephanie and himself overseeing all operations. The Raw writing team is headed up by Brian Gewertz and Heyman is the guy controlling Smackdown!.

Great site. I visit it like 3 or 4 times a day. My question to you is that after all the hyping of the Hell in a Cell match at No Mercy this past October, I remember Michael Cole saying that the cage structure weighed 9 tons. I cannot believe that number is true. I would estimate that it weighs 1 ton, tops. I think the height of the cage is somewhat exaggerated too. What do you guys think?
Did they really say it was 9 tons? Jeez, that definitely has to be an exaggerated number but I'm not even gonna try and guess what it really is. I think they are also throwing out a figure for the new Elimination Chamber but I can't remember what it is...maybe 8 tons or something.

Hi i have two quick questions, i have a dispute with my friend he thinks nailz, who feuded with the big bossmani think in the late 80's early 90's, and sandman of ecw fame are the same person, but i disagree. Also, do the wrestlers in wwe make alot off of the merchandising, is it a large percentage?
You win, they are not the same person. And merchandising, it depends; guys like The Rock and Steve Austin when he was around would reportedly make more on their merchandising than on their base salary so yeah, it can get large in a hurry if the wrestler is popular.
