In the most recent mailbag (#51) someone questioned the weight of the actual cell used in Hell in the Cell. I remember when Michael Cole and Tazz were hyping the match they kept saying the cage weighed something like 8 tons, which I too had a problem with. So, being the geek that I am, I counted the number of squares on the cell itself, and there are 48 total: 8 on each side (8 x 4 = 32) and 16 on top (32 + 16 = 48). As we all should know 1 ton = 2000 pounds, so 8 tons = 16,000 pounds. 16,000 tons / 48 sections of the cell = 333.33 lbs. Meaning, if we're to believe the Hell in the Cell cage weighs 8 tons, each section of the cage weighs 333.33 pounds. Eight tons.? I don't know, that seems highly unlikely to me. My guess is that it weighs no more than 2 tons, making each section 83.33 lbs, which is a more believable number. (And before anyone says it, I did not take into account all the metal that holds the structure together up top. But I highly doubt that those pieces weigh enough to up the cell's weight to 8 tons or more.)

Hey guys, good job re-opening the mailbag. Isn't ironic that when Vince was talking about bringing the NWO to the WWF he said that would be the poison that will put it out of business and since there everything really fall apart, hell he even had to change the company's name.

You have way too much time on your hands, Michael. However, you make an excellent point. There's no way the cell weighs 8 tons. And there was no way the Elimination Chamber weighed 10 tons. The WWE exaggerate as a marketing tool, and it works. You hear "eight tons" and think "Wow, it must be amazing". It might not be enough for you to buy the PPV, but it gets you thinking about it and sparks some interest.

To Rajah and the gang, LOVE the site. What has been the longest running feud in the WWF/E that hasn't involved a title? Keep this site going!!!!!!!!!!

I've thought long and hard about this one. The only one I can think of that sort of fits the bill is the Stone Cold vs Vince McMahon epic feud. However, that did indirectly involve the title because while McMahon didn't want to the title for himself (although he did win it), he didn't want Austin to have it either. Shawn Michaels and Triple H have been technically feuding since 1997 when Triple H accused Michaels of "dropping the ball" after his loss to Stone Cold at WM 14. That feud continued when Michaels showed up on Raw in 1998 and got his head smashed into a windscreen. Michaels left for a few years, came back and is STILL feuding with Triple H, which makes it almost a 5 year feud, before the title entered into it a couple of months ago. Vince McMahon and Stephanie McMahon had a long running feud that wasn't about the title. So did Stephanie and Shane and Shane and Vince. The McMahon's feud a lot, huh?

Whats up guys great site. Sorry if this question has already been answered, ive only gotten into checking news and rumors online only in the past couple of months. Back in March or so when wwe was building towards their wrestlemania x8 ppv, stone cold was feuding with scott hall. One night on Raw scott hall hit austin in the leg with a cinder block which shattered, and that ended the show. But the next time austin came out on smackdown, the bandage was on the OTHER leg that didnt get hit. was this some sort of punishment from vince mcmahon for something austin had done, to make him look stupid??? Thanks a lot.

Nope. It was just a really stupid mistake. None of us could believe it at the time, but they managed to screw it up and I think quite a few people noticed.

Hey, great site ( I especially like the PPV flashbacks as I am a long term fan). Is it just me or would the WWE be far better off without HHH and the Undertaker? I was a mark for him up to his quadricep injury because he was overusing his power but since his return he is just become a dictator. The same could be said about Stone Cold but he was the leader of Attitude and was always entertaining. HHH gives boring interviews, crappy storylines and won't make anyone look good in case they get more popular than him. I mean, was there any point Jericho turning up at Wrestlemania? Yes, last years 'Mania had exactly the same problem but you knew that Austin and Rock were going to put on one hell of a match. Exactly the same can be said for the Undertaker who has only looked good when facing Austin, Mick Foley, Bret Hart or Shawn Michaels. If the WWE got rid of both of them Angle would be in the main event, Booker T would finally get a push, RVD would be the biggest face, Benoit and Jericho would finally get a proper push and so on and so on.

Yes, Triple H is a monster. Not only is he is responsible for holding down 90% of the company, he is nasty to old people, hates children and kicks small dogs in his spare time. He alone is responsible for the extinction of several endangered species, the melting of the polar icecaps and as previously reported, deforestation in the Amazon.
I mean, come on Triple H does NOT run the WWF. He was a team player for quite a few years before he hit the big time. Sure, he might have input in storylines and direction now, but that doesn't mean everything that happens in the WWE can be traced back to him. A lot of people seem to think that the WWE have their own conspiracy theory going on - rather than the X Files, they have the HHH Files.
The WWE are not going to "get rid" of 'Taker or Triple H. Even if you don't like them, both are solid performers with maximum fan impact. However, I agree that Booker T, RVD, Jericho and Benoit should be given a push into the big time. They certainly deserve it.

If Stone Cold came back to the WWE anytime soon, still under probation, does this mean he can no longer celebrate with lots of beer? This destroys his character! He better not be a heel either!

Three words for you - Non alcoholic beer.
And I don't think the WWE will try and turn Austin heel again in a hurry, not with last time being a disaster of epic proportions and all.

Hi Good site people - keep it up. Like others after years of watching the WWF/E I am becoming disillusioned with it. It has grown stale and there are far too many inconsistencies in today's programs. Not saying there was before, just not as much. Here are two of the ones I noticed lately, 1) The WWE Championship only became property of Smackdown Brock Lesnar was signed exclusively to that show, not the belt. Surely now, as per the initial agreement with the brand split Big Show can appear on both shows. 2) Why would Eric Bishoff sign D-von back to Raw to go up against what is basically his main boys in Rosie, Jamal and Rico.

1. It's bad enough that the Big Show is on Smackdown, but you want him to take up TV time on Raw as well! I don't think so. Smackdown and Raw have their own title belts for the very specific purpose of eliminating the need for constant "trades" and avoiding the potentially dangerous situation where one superstar has to carry both shows. I think it's pretty safe to say that for the time being if you're the WWE champion you're on Smackdown, and if you're the World Champion you stay on Raw. 2. I see what you're saying, but we might as well ask, "Why does Bischoff sign anyone to Raw that he doesn't like?" He's supposed to be running a company and creating a product, not just signing people who don't pose a threat to him or his boys.

hi guys i have been watching wrestling for about 10 years and i have to say i have searched everywhere for a wrestling site that is better than wwe.com i just have 2 questions is the ultimate warrior older than hogan and i thought about it a lot but has kane ever lost cleanly apart from austin and taker because every time i see him loss its by using the ropes and chairs etc the only one i can think of is last man standing but he had barrels on top of him please answere i have to know its killing me

Warrior is not older than Hogan. Hogan was born in August 1953, making him 49 years old while Warrior was born in 1959 sometime, so he's most likely 43. And for your second question, yes Kane has gotten pinned cleanly numerous times. I can't remember any specific incidents off-hand but I believe Triple H, Kurt Angle and even Test have accomplished the feat.

I don't understand why WWE are still clinging on to their heavy weights and still not allowing the CW to go at it full tilt. Survivor Series was a good night for CW as Kidman and Knoble had a great match as well as Mysterio pulling off a heap of fast paced and high flying manoeuvres in the tag match. So why are CW featured more heavily? Why on Smack Down did we get Kidman v. Crash this week? All the exiting up and comers are Cruiserweights (NWA: TNA, ROH, CZW) and I personally believe that AJ Styles and others like him are the future of professional wrestling. When is the WWE going to realize that there's a place for both heavyweight and Cruiserweights styles on their shows? By the way, keep up the good site.

Probably never. Vince McMahon has this innate fascination with big wrestlers and he subconsciously never gives the cruiserweights a fair shake.

I've wondered for a longtime how does Tajiri get the mist into his mouth before he does the mist? When I was watching the thanksgiving edition of smackdown I saw Tajiri put his opponent (can't remember who I think it was Billy Kidman) into the taranchula. While he was doing the Taranchula he put his hand under the ring and inserted something into his mouth ( at least by my view). Ten seconds later he does the mist. Do you think that's how tajari gets the stuff he needs for the mist. Sorry for any spelling errors. I love your site it's the only and best wrestling site I visit.

Yeah, the mist is always stored under the ring. Usually when it's time to do it, Tajiri gets knocked to the outside and the camera cuts to another view. So while we're seeing Tajiri's opponent lying in the ring doing nothing, he's slipping the mist into his mouth.

A while ago I heard Scotty2Hotty had surgery. But I haven't heard anything about him in a while. And he's no longer on the Smackdown roster. My question is:Was he released form the WWE? And what happened to him?

Although there has been a lot of speculation on it, no one from WWE has confirmed that Scotty has been released. To the best of my knowledge, he's still recovering from neck surgery and he won't be back for awhile still. It's possible that he may end up being released, if he hasn't already been because of the fact that WWE is looking to cut back on their expenses.

Yo Great site, keep up the good work but what i wanna know is when Rey Mysterio will be returning to ring after his knee surgery? I heard it would be January from a friend but he wasn't too sure, thought i'd ask someone who probably has a better idea.

He had an arthroscopic procedure done so technically, he could be back in the ring in a couple weeks. However, I think his first match back may be held off until the Royal Rumble or some time around then.

How did Austin and HHH did the stunt where HHH was dropped 40 feet in a car at PPV.

Well, for starters he obviously wasn't in the car. What they did was pre-tape the segment with Austin just dropping an empty car and then spliced it into another which showed Triple H sitting in said car. Then they just editted it together and made it seem like it all happened at once.

hey guys, great work with the site and all, I just have a quick question, what happened to Just Joe, is he even still in the 'wrestling business'? I don't remember hearing anything when him left the company .

He reportedly had a lot of heat in the company with various wrestlers who didn't appreciate his attitude and what not. That ended up leading to his release and I have no idea where he is now, although I suspect he is still wrestling somewhere, perhaps in an indy fed hin Canada.

I love that the mailbag is back. I have 2 questions. 1. What has happened to Brooklyn Brawler lately? His rare match seems not to be happening anymore and, as a fan of his, it's very upsetting. 2. Back in the '80s Cindy Lauper did a music video with wrestlers in it. It had Capt. Lou Albano, Andre the Giant, Roddy Roddy Piper, the Iron Shiek, and 3 others. Who were the other 3 people? One was Russian, one was a guy I think they called Freddy, and there's a woman who looks like Mae Young.

The answer to the first question is that Brawler (Steve Lombardi) is still with WWE and works as a road agent/backstage official. He probably won't be wrestling again anytime soon unless WWE wants to insert him in a comedic type role. And the second question...I'll be honest - I don't totally remember but I would guess the Russian was Nikolai Volkoff, the guy named Fred was Freddie Blassie and the woman was probably Wendi Richter who Cyndi Lauper managed for a short period.
