Hi there cool site! My question is this, after the notorious Steroid case in the mid 1990's the WWE said they opposed steroid use and banned superstars from using it. However the WWE have just signed Scott Steiner and if that isn't a blatant use of steroids I don't know what is. My question is therefore; is Scott Steiner still on steroids and what is the WWE's current tolerance on steroid use?
The important thing to note here is that Scott Steiner has never recorded a positive result to a steroid test. However, he probably hasn't taken too many. In WCW random steroid tests were quite common, but somehow the suspicious guys like Steiner and Savage rarely got tested. After the WWF "steroid case" the WWF became very proactive about testing their athletes for steroids. That lasted about three months - the time it took for the testing to start and for Vinnie Mac to get the bill. The WWF then publicly stated that testing was too expensive and wasn't 100% accurate anyway. The WWE does not currently test their athletes for steroids. It's a good bet that at least some WWE superstars are using them, not just to build muscle mass, but to rejuvenate tissue and stimulate muscles for the healing of injuries. As for Steiner, if you remember him in the WWF in the early 90's, he was incredibly built and it looked pretty "natural" then, so I have to say that he has some kind of genetic tendency towards muscle mass. But don't get me wrong, he's a whole lot bigger now than he was then so I'd certainly put him in the suspicious pile.

In 1994-1995, there were Druids that followed around the Undertaker. They were usually just jobbers. The two druids at the 1995 Royal Rumble were the Heavenly Bodies, Tom Prichard and Jimmy Del Ray. When they attacked the Undertaker, their outfits came up a bit and you could see their tights.
Well, there you go.

Hey all at Rajah. I know you hear this often, but you have one helluva site. I visit it constantly. Now, this is going to be a pretty dumb question but that's never stopped me before. Awhile back, UPN stopped airing Smackdown! in my area. (I live in Oregon). I had heard it was something to do with the fact that I didn't have cable access at the time. Well for Christmas I decided to give myself a gift and get cable. I was just wondering if and where it is on my TV. I have been missing out on some really damn good matches over on the Smackdown! brand and I'm excited to be getting the chance to see the great matches of the future. Any idea where it's located on the channels? Thanks for the help.
I'm no cable expert, but as far as I know Smackdown is not available on cable. If your local channel that carries UPN programming is no longer showing it, then you're out of luck. I remember when it was announced that UPN would be showing a weekly WWF show. Everyone was surprised, because it's a channel with a very small market and as such, a lot of places outside of main cities do not get UPN programming. However, given that Smackdown is widely rumored to be getting the axe very shortly, it may not matter either way.

Hi there, your site rocks (i visit it at least twice a day). My question is, has the Rock left WWE / about to leave WWE. Because in that interview where he says he wants to work with Bill Goldberg he says he would like to return to wrestling "one more time", which suggests he will leave, so I would like to know what are the long term plans for the Rock regarding WWE.
The Rock isn't going anywhere. He's been locked down in contract by the WWE until about 2005. Even if he wanted to leave wrestling - and I don't think he does - he couldn't leave without a very messy legal battle. As far as I know, The Rock plans to return to wrestling when he finishes filming his latest movie. However, I wouldn't be surprised if he comes back with a bang and then drops to work a reduced schedule. Goldberg vs The Rock has some interesting possibilities, but it's Stone Cold vs Goldberg that would really put butts in seats.

hey i saw a vid of triple h pedigreeing some day and he landed on his neck and the title said triple h killing a guy it was in the wwf along time ago so did HHH ever kill any one with that move?
This is truly the funniest question I've ever been asked. No, Triple H hasn't killed anyone with his pedigree. Not yet, anyway. However, those who hate Triple H will probably tell you that he has killed several people over the years and the WWE have covered it up, because some people think the WWE will do anything for Triple H...

Please advise which undertakers for Paul Bearer and Million Dollar Man that fought in 1992 is still active to date. Again, which of the two is a brother to Kane? Please let me know because I am confused.
Paul Bearer was associated with the Undertaker who still currently wrestles for the WWE, despite being on vacation at this time. It is this Undertaker who plays the part of Kane's brother, although in real life the two men are not related. Ted DiBiase was associated with the man we like to call the "Underfaker", aka Brian Lee. This association only lasted a few months and after the Undertaker defeated the Underfaker, the Underfaker character was dead, excuse the pun.

Hi I just spent about an hour going through some of the archives, and you guys and girl (or so we are lead to believe) do a great job. As for Tajiri's mist, I have another suggestion. I was at the WCW New Blood Rising PPV in Vancouver a few years back and had the opportunity to see the Great Muta. He wrestled twice on the card and misted (is that a word?) both times. We knew it would likely be coming so we spent our time trying to see how/when he got it. In any case, the ref palmed the mist capsule on both occasions and actually placed them in Muta's mouth when he was checking to see if somebody was ok or telling somebody to break it up. It was easy to see in person, but the camera angles likely precludes such a thing. Keep up the good work guys.
This intrigues me. "You guys and a girl (or so we are led to believe)". I don't think Don Striha believes I'm a girl. Why would I make something like that up? Then again, perhaps I should take it as a compliment. Maybe Don doesn't think a girl could know this much about wrestling. But is that an insult or a compliment? Don, you are hereby banned from the Mailbag until I've thought about this more. But thanks for the information about the Great Muta's mist.

Right before the Rock vs. Austin main event at Wrestlemania, Rock and Austin had several confrontations where they exchanged each others finishing moves. About two weeks before Wrestlemania, The Rock stunned Austin and then drank one of Austin's beers. I noticed that the beer of choice for that night was Non-Alcoholic Busch. Did anyone else notice? Was it because The Rock refused to get alcohol in his system? Also, since Austin is court ordered not to drink alcohol because of his legal problems, how will this affect his beer drinking gimmick in the ring? I'd hate to see it go.
I don't know that The Rock "refused to get alcohol in his system", but I can understand someone not wanting to drink beer. Yuck. More than likely, the reason for the non-alcoholic beer was because some obscure television regulation forbids the consumption of alcohol on television, which is why Austin spits most of his beer out. I should also point out that Austin was not ordered to stop drinking beer because of his "legal problems", he was ordered to stop drinking beer because he physically abused his wife while intoxicated. I suppose he could always drink non-alcoholic beer in the ring, but it might seem a little odd. A rattlesnake that only drinks non-alcoholic beer would be quite a sobering sight.

Halo, I was just wondering, wouldn't it be better if the WWF had smaller rings with tighter ropes, like WCW used to have? It always seemed to me that WCW had faster, cooler Cruiserweight matches with such small rings. They used to bounce around like nothing on earth, especially Rey.
Maybe I'm asking too much, because the smaller rings weren't so good for Main Event matches, bigger wrestlers looked stupid in a small space like that. However I think the least the WWF can do is tighten the ropes a bit, it just looks better.
From what I can gather, almost every wrestler who has worked or is currently working for the WWE thinks the ring set up is horrible. Apparently the ring is bigger than the standard and the ropes are a lot looser. If you're doing a try out and you're used to a smaller ring and tight ropes, that would throw your game off in a huge way. Maybe that's why the WWE use such a ring - to separate the men from the boys. Then again, maybe the larger ring is purely a visual thing. Most people who have attended live WWE events are surprised by how small the ring looks in the arena.

Ok, I have always wondered about this: Do the wrestlers where a cup when they get low blowed? Because all those times getting kicked in the groin will cause damage to your, umm, grapefruits, LOL. Great job on the site too! Thanks.
It's weird that I'm answering this question, but okay. From what I understand, the decision to use or not use a cup is a personal decision every man has to make for himself. I don't think that a "low blow" actually involves the recipient having his "grapefruits" pounded. Can you imagine someone saying "Yeah, so after you clothesline me I'm going to kick your nuts so hard that tears will come to your eyes and your ability to father children will be compromised, okay?" I don't think so. The point here is that the pain factor from a low blow is minimal so a cup probably isn't a necessity, but really, what do I know about it? Mental note: never answer a question like this again.

What happened to Mike Modest and Tony Jones from APW shown in Beyond the Mat?
Probably not much. More to the point, what happened to the dodgy fat guy who ran the "wrestling school" they attended? I watched the director's commentary on the Beyond The Mat DVD and the guy who made the documentary was saying how he had heard all sorts of stories about how dodgy the guy was and how he ripped people off. If anyone knows what happened to Mike Modest and Tony Jones, drop us a line.

hey. I have a big problem with the WWE right now. Really it's the thing with the big show/brock angle. If I heard right, at one point, big show said he was 7'4, 500 lbs. ok, I know that both are a lie. so that was kinda stupid of them to go on TV and say that. Also, I really don't think the big show deserves the belt. Actually i see it as the big show wasn't gonna win until Brock got hurt. i think if Brock wouldn't of got hurt the belt would still be his. And he probably wouldn't have got a title shot if Hogan didn't say no. Any way my question is when they make the old WCW and wwe/f world titles into the undisputed title and who had the title then? i could have sworn that Chris Jericho had it but my brother says HHH thanks
Your brother is an idiot. Chris Jericho was the first person to hold the "Undisputed Title". I'm not sure how anyone could have missed that - he talked about it all the time in typical annoying Jericho fashion. The Big Show is a difficult customer. He almost HAS to be part of the main event because he's so damn big, but the fans don't like him as champion, mainly because he kinda sucks. I don't know whether Lesnar would have dropped the title to TBS if he hadn't been injured. I think he would have still dropped the title to someone, but he would have picked it up again a lot quicker than he will now. As for Big Show saying he was 7'4" and 500 pounds...well, the 500 pounds probably isn't too far off the truth. The 7'4" is an outright lie, but professional wrestling has exaggerated the size of its competitors since the dawn of creation. They ain't gonna stop now.
