I have an answer for Numero Twenty regarding Austalia's WWE programming situation. Fox 8 (who used to screen Smackdown!) stopped screening Smackdown! for the same reason Main Event (Australia's PPV provider) stopped screening WWE PPV's. Rumour has it RAW (which is currently screening on Fox Sports) will no longer screen in Australia after June when it's contract runs out if McMahon persists in upping his prices. What McMahon doesn't realise is that Australian pay TV networks aren't nearly as profitable as they are in the states and simply cannot afford the price he's asking. So in the space of six months Australia's wrestling coverage which used to be second only to North America has dwindled away to almost nothing. With a preposed return tour of Australia planned for later on this year McMahon would do well to try and re-establish themselves in Australia or face a dramatic drop in ticket sales.

I agree that the WWE have very little understanding of the cable market outside of the USA. Due to a falling national market, they should make it their business to investigate international cable markets.

Hey Rajah,Great Site Mate, Do you think that The Rock is over rated along with Triple H. I was thinking the other day that they have one of the most boring move set out of the main eventers. The only thing is with Triple H is he uses weapons and so his performance varies. I also think The Rock needs to come back as a heel to get any response from people who have also found him a bit dull

I guess it all depends on what you want to see out of your main eventers. Both Triple H and The Rock put on visually superior matches, which is why they're both main eventers. People like to watch them, they bring money into the company and they work hard. When The Rock returns officially, crowd reaction will practically blow the roof off whatever arena he appears in. I don't think The Rock will come back as a heel because the WWE want to cash in on his huge popularity and the fact that he's a "returning" star. However, I wouldn't be surprised if he turns heel shortly after. The Rock isn't one of my favorite wrestlers, but I certainly wouldn't describe him as "a bit dull".

Hey Aree and Rajah (and any of the other mailbag guys, if you're still around). Thanks for answering my previous question. You guys have probably gotten a lot of mail since you opened up the mailbag again, and it's nice to see that you're trying to answer as many questions as you can. But now for my question. I had started watching WWF television around the time of Jerry Lawler's quitting. In other words, I didn't really get much of a chance to see what kind of commentary he could do. Everyone wanted him back, though. Everyone missed him, and couldn't stand Paul Heyman (a man who, in my opinion, is terrific with a mic). Eventually though, people started adjusting, and realizing they didn't really miss The King that much. Fast forwarding to his return. All he does is throw in a lame joke or a perverted comment about "puppies." I can't stand his commentary. So here's my questi! on: Was he always so lacking in his talent? Do you like his commentary? Would you prefer someone else? Thanks, and keep up the great work

Other mailbag guys? Where?! I found your comments interesting, and to some extent I agree. However, I do not agree that Paul Heyman was a great commentator. He was irritating, ill informed, smug and typically heel-ish. However, Jerry Lawler is no great talent either. His teenage squeals and constant adolescent references to "puppies" bore me silly. However, he does come out with the occasional funny comment (my current favourite is when JR was exclaiming over some great series of moves that Kane had put together in a match on Raw and Lawler says "You're not going to say that Kane's on fire, are you JR?" I seriously laughed at that for about five minutes) and he's a great foil for JR's very serious and informed commentary style. I also enjoyed the days when Lawler was an offsider to Vince McMahon's play by play. That's who I miss as a commentator...Vince McMahon. A lot of people hated him, but I thought he was great. Bring back Vinnie Mac, I say.

Hey Mailbag, I recently e-mailed your Divas section and got a response so I thought id give you guys a try. I wanted to clear something I read on the wwe.com website.*and yes it was the WWE website not one of those fan-based one's that start rumors* Any ways it said that the WWF(World Wild Life Foundation) was basically trying to squeeze every penny out of the WWE they can, and that the WWE lawyers werent going to "Stand for it and fight them tooth and nail" Now to my question, does that mean they're trying to get the old WWF logo back or that there just stopping the Wild-Life Foundation from bleeding the WWE dry?

Hey Mailbag? My name's Aree and that guy over there skulking in the corner is Rajah. No one called "Mailbag" here, my friend. Firstly, WWF stands for the "World Wide Fund". And secondly, the WWE are major league pissed off about the fact they had to surrender the "WWF" logo. It's a huge blow to them, to their product and to their money pot. The WWE are not able to get the "WWF" initials back unless the World Wide Fund agree to sell them the rights to the trademark. The chances of that happening are slim to none and slim just left town. The World Wide Fund won the right to stop the World Wrestling Federation from using the initials "WWF" as a brand, and now they are taking further measures to ensure that the WWE remove all references to "WWF" from products. I disagree that the World Wide Fund is trying to "bleed the WWE dry". The brutal facts of the matter are that Vince McMahon contracted with the World Wide Fund that he would not use the initials "WWF" in a trademark fashion and then promptly broke the agreement and flaunted it for at least five years before the World Wide Fund filed suit. If you dance with the devil, eventually you have to pay the fiddler.

Hey...is it me or has Steph gained alot of weight lately? Is there a reason behind this or has she just decided to "just let herself go?"

Yeah, I've noticed it too but of course, I don't know why. You'd have to ask her that yourself I guess.

My question is about Bill DeMott from Tough Enough 3. Who is he? On the show (TE3) they constantly refer to him as a "12 year veteran" or some such thing, but I honestly can't place him at all. What was his gimmick, or did he work for another promotion?

I think DeMott has had many different characters and gimmicks, most from the former WCW. There, he was most famously known as General E. Rection (get it?) and then later Hugh Morrus again (get it?) which is what he entered WWE as back in 2001.

Hey Rajah, your site rules! Keep up the good work. My question is, a few years back there was a security guard that worked for WWF. He was a rather buff guy and he would always be there standing outside the ring to keep the crowd in-line. Anyways I think it was late 99, but i am not sure on that date, it seemed like he and Steve Blackman were starting a grudge. Many times one of them would attack the other at some point durring or after one of blackman's matches. I was kind of expecting the 2 of them to have a street fight match or something at an upcoming PPV. However, this never happened. In fact this guy just vanished from WWF TV and so did the storyline along with it. Could you shed some light on what happened in with this guy and with the storyline?

I believe I answered this in a previous mailbag, but I can't remember so here goes again - his name was Jim Dotson and he left WWE due to some health problems (migraines if I remember correctly) so that's probably why the angle was abruptly stopped. Ironically enough, Steve Blackman also left WWE due to a similar health condition.

I have a question, I have heard that in certain situations, if the WWE do not like the way a match finishes, they will reshoot it. My question is, when do they do this. Is it straight after the finishes, or another day before broadcast, in which case they would have to "re-hire" a new audience.(Obviously this really only applies to Smackdown since RAW is live).

Yeah they always shoot it the night of the event, usually after the show concludes. To get around the audience problem, they usually send arena and backstage personnel to one side of the arena and then shoot it from the opposite side so it gives the impression that everything is normal. Something like this happened last year I believe in a Taker/Angle match. The finish was supposed to see Taker tap out and Angle get pinned simultaneously but they messed up the timing and had to re-shoot it. If you looked close, you could definitely tell as one second the audience was quiet and the next they were going crazy cheering (because WWE prompted them to during the second shot).

Awesome sight! With your sights popularity obviously some "high powers" in the WWE have heard of it. Would you ever consider an appearance at a WWE event and do an angle where you get confronted by McMahon or Bischoff for "leaking" wrestling news.. Who knows maybe it could be the birth of the RWO.. Rajah World Order... Keep up the great work..

Damn straight I would consider it.

Hey its me Jason. You guys are doing a great job with the site. Anyway I have two questions. One question is where is Hard-core Holly? Can you refresh me on his injury and when he is estimated to come back. This other question is about Scott Steiner. I keep hearing about his health and stuff. What the hell is wrong with Scott Steiner? Does he have some kind of condition or what? Please clarify. Thanks.

Hardcore Holly - reaggravated an arm injury during a match and is probably not going to be back anytime soon. As for Scott Steiner, he has a condition known as drop foot syndrome I think it's called which is basically some nerve problems in an around his ankle area and foot (I'm no doctor so I may be wrong). Of course there's also the fact that Steiner has literally no stamina and is a risk inside the ring, both to himself and his opponent.

I was just wondering, have any of the finishers of 'The Big Three' been used before by other wrestlers? By this I mean the Stone Cold Stunner, the Pedigree and the Rock Bottom. I know opponents use each other's finisher (Rock Stunning Austin, HHH Rock Bottoming Rock, etc), and Booker T uses a slightly modified Rock Bottom, but I mean older wrestlers or others I may not have heard of. I remember vaguely in the Rock's autobiography that he refers to the Rock Bottom as an underhook suplex or something, and I also seem to recall seeing a match where he was in the NOD and used the Rock Bottom but it didn't have a name. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hmmm, interesting question. Disco Inferno from WCW used a Stone Cold Stunner but called it "The Last Dance". Stevie Ray may have used some sort of a Pedigree type move called "The Flapjack" but I wasn't particularly attentive to WCW so I can't be sure. If anyone can shed further light into this, drop us a line.

Hey guys, love the site, come here all the time for the news. I have been a big wrestling fan for a long time now. I watched all the greats like Ricky Steamboat, Don Muraco and so on. An idea I had was for the WWE to bring in a past superstar as the new GM of Raw and have Bischoff go to Smackdown to team with Stephanie against Raw. But the past superstar I am talking about it Ted Dibiase "The Million Dollar Man". Now I understand he is highly into God and has found faith, but he never got a proper farewell and to be honest, he is the greatest wrestler of all time to not be world champion(besides Owen Hart of course). His gimmick was marketable back then and can be now as well. Throwing around "his millions" and stealing talent from Smackdown. His laugh was the best and so was his entrance music. He could send message to Smackdown wrestlers like "You will be bought!" What do you think? PS: Do you know of an email address where I can contact Ted Dibiase?

I don't think DiBiase will be back, certainly not as a full-time wrestler but there is always a chance he could be brought back for an appearance or two. I'm not sure where you can contact him, but check out his site at http://www.milliondollarman.com/ cause there might be some information there.
