What up Peeps? Hopefully you have the answers to all of my questions. When do you think that the WWE veteran wrestlers that are hogging up the main event slots will retire and let the younger, more talented generation get their shot to run with the company. Brock Lesnar has proved that he is one of the many future guys along with Cena. I hope that Sean O'Haire gets away from Piper and does his orginal gimmick. Also, when the hell are we going to see the two greatest wresters in the world today, Chris Beniot and Eddie Guerrero, win and hold the Heavyweight Belt for a long period of time? I really hope that Shane takes over the company really soon and that HHH cheats on Steph so he can be blackballed 4ever. Thanks a Lot.
Brock Lesnar IS a main eventer, no doubt about it. The man headlines Smackdown, second only to Angle and even then it's a very close race. Chris Benoit should be in the title race, but despite his obvious talent I don't see him as having the "x" factor. He can't really work the mic and while his talent has carried him this far, I think the lack of personality projection is going to hold him back from being the champ, at least for the time being. Eddie Guerrero isn't headed for the title any time soon, but if he can keep up the momentum of his current angle (does anyone else get his theme song stuck in their head for hours on end?) and parlay it into a decent singles run, never say never. However you can say "unlikely" because that would be true. So much hatred for Triple H...can't we all just get along, hold hands and hug the world?

Hi Aree,
What I wanna know is, how come in hardcore matches in the WWE, whenever someone gets hit by a chair, it doesn't seem to affect them at all? (i.e. they kick out just as the refs hand hits the mat for a two count and get up right away.) Then when in regular matches if the ref is knocked out or has his back turned, someone comes in and hits one of the competitors with a chair, they are completely knocked out and can be pinned for a three count even if someone doesnt go for the cover for 30 seconds? My friends and I have noticed this all of the time.
You know what really drives me nuts? Two people are standing in the ring and talking tough. Naturally they're talking into microphones but when one person starts talking smack and the other is obviously outraged, they never voice their outrage into the microphone. They just stand there and for all intents and purposes protest quietly, holding the microphone carefully away from their mouth. If you were REALLY angry you'd be shouting into the microphone over the top of the other person. At least, I would. Mr Mystery Guest's (yeah, I deleted the name - so what?) comment about chair shots is essentially the same issue as my bitch about arguing by microphone. Sometimes a chair shot is deadly - if you're a referee you're likely to be knocked out with one chair shot for at least two or three minutes and suffer effects for days. If you're a wrestler, sometimes you can take up to three shots before you even notice the other wrestler is hitting you. A slight exaggeration maybe, but the point is well taken.

Hi, is there something to be said about the WWE fans rejecting people like Goldberg, Scott Steiner and Kevin Nash because they haven't 'cut their teeth' in todays WWE yet? I mean all 3 have been thrown into Main Events, having just waltzed in from controversial backgrounds into high pay-checks and low work dates. Compare them to Booker T, who since the Invasion has earned his right to be cheered by the fans by carrying Goldust and going through a number of other angles for a good year or so before hitting the nearly-main-event status he's enjoying today. Perhaps if the aforementioned 3 were held back a touch (though this of course will never happen), WWE fans might be more impressed. What do you think?
The smarter fan might be impressed, the average Joe Wrestling Fan would be pissed. Ratings aren't about playing fair and the wrestling industry isn't about giving someone a turn while the rest of the team stand quietly in the background trying to behave well so they will be picked for the next push. Pro wrestling is a messy, unfair and tough battle ground. In defence of Steiner, Nash and Goldberg, it's not like they walked in fresh off the streets and got the top spot. They have worked hard, some harder than others, and they deserve to compete at a certain level based on their name recognition and reputations. However, no less deserving are the Booker T's and Jericho's of the world who work hard and can still never break through that glass ceiling and get admitted to the executive bathroom. What can I say? If life were fair I'd be living on my own personal island, sunbathing on the beach and having Shawn Michaels serve me frosty virgin daiquiris.

HI i was arguing with my friend about the roster split since it happened. I say it was to give wrestlers a break so they dont work as much or the overload of talent. He says it is all storyline. Im sorry if its already been answered but im new to the normal mailbag.
You're looking for the normal mailbag? I think you've got the wrong address. This is the Abnormal Mailbag. In reply to your question, the roster split wasn't to give the wrestlers a "break", although I'm sure that was a pleasant side effect for them. However, the cookie should go to you and not your friend because the roster split was primarily for storyline purposes. Yes, there was an overload of talent but I would only accept that as the reason for the split if the WWE had created a new show because of the overload and of course, they didn't. After trying to mesh WCW stars in with WWE stars and storylines, the WWE worked out that they were better off "branding" and starting out with smaller show-specific storylines.

Why did Road Dogg ever leave/get fired from WWF(E)? Is there any chance of him coming back and reuniting with Mr.Ass and getting DX back together. They could have HHH lose the belt and he could rejoin with Shawn, NAO,and they could bring in Nash and possibly X-Pac. Speaking of Pac, what happened to him as well? Thanks Rajah!!! Great Site, Keep it up!!!!
DX is dead. Resurrection is unlikely. It's time to move on. Road Dogg was fired from the WWE because despite Vince McMahon footing the bill for rehab, he continued to have a drug problem. Road Dogg has been fairly honest about his problems with drugs and when he was "fired" he didn't seem to hold any animosity towards Vince and the WWE. I guess there's always a chane he'll make a return, and the New Age Outlaws WERE one of the most successful tag teams of the 90's (take that for what you will) but it's not like the WWE actually need him. As I keep saying, they have a stacked roster and current problems won't be fixed by hiring more old superstars.

Hi people! I'm am definitely a fan of this site! I wanted to know if you had some idea why certain maneuvers seem to lose effectiveness with time. Example: The DDT. Back when Jake "The Snake" Roberts used it in the 80's, if I recall correctly, it seemed to be a finishing maneuver for him. Now, it can be seen in the middle of a match with little effect. Why is this? If anyone would know, it would have to be you guys! Thanks!
Bigger, better, faster, harder. The DDT lost its status as a "knockout" move the same way that a jump from the top of the old blue steel cage lost its "holy shit" factor. Fans these days seem to require wrestlers to half kill themselves in order to be impressed. It's as simple, and as dumb, as that.

What was the reason why the wcw went out of buisness?
WCW didn't "go out of business". Vince McMahon bought it and incorporated it into his product so technically WCW still exists. Ted Turner went on the record as stating that WCW was a "hobby" for him and he wasn't looking to make a lot of money out of it. Well, he lied. Turner had zero to do with the running of WCW, he just footed the bills. Things were always slightly out of control and erratic in WCW management so when ratings dropped, expenditure soared and the whole thing was just spinning out of control, Turner pulled the plug. He decided to sell off WCW to the highest bidder. Eric Bischoff looked to be the highest bidder (with backing) for a while, but he dropped out of the race leaving Vinnie Mac to sweep in and pick over the dead carcass of his greatest enemy.

Hey guys... i got a few questions and comments 1) with steve austin pretty much retired in the ring due to his injuries, is austin vs. goldberg for wrestlemania 20 out of the question???? 2) Is it just me or does brock lesnar suck as a face???? I mean I usually root on the babyfaces, but whenever lesnar's in the picture i compulsively cheer for the heels. 3) aren't The Rock and John Cena just plain damn entertaining???? 4) its official...RAW is Triple H. Goldberg who????? Oh yeah....the dude with the blonde wig. How much as the writing staff killed the mythical creature that was Bill Goldberg???
I have a question for you. Can you ask a question without using so many damn question marks??????? 1. Austin vs Goldberg isn't out of the question, but I don't think Steve Austin is physically capable of anchoring Wrestlemania XX. The match would probably turn out to be a huge disappointment and really, a couple of years too late. Still this is the WWE so I wouldn't give up all hope of Austin facing Goldberg one day. 2. People love Brock Lesnar, so it seems to be just you who thinks he sucks as a face. Lesnar doesn't have much personality, so maybe that's why it's difficult for people to warm to him. I know I don't consider him one of my favorites, not by a long shot. 3. The Rock is entertaining, John Cena is a little too much like a try hard Eminem. Mostly Cena just pisses me off. He reminds me of the redneck guys who hang out at the bar I play pool at - a complete waste of space. 4. Blonde wig? Triple H? Okay... I don't think the writing staff have killed off Goldberg, but yes, they could have done a much better job with his character. They seem to be building him up now, though so there is always hope.

Hi Aree and the rest of the team, First off - great site, keep up the good work! I've got a question for you that's been nagging me for ages and I've got a feeling that I've emailed you before with it so sorry but here goes; The greatest fear that the smallest man in the world has is cats - they stalk him as though he's some sort of big mouse or something apparently! This got me thinking; if you could somehow shrink Kane down to miniture proportions using some sort of magic potion or futuristic shrinking ray, or alternatively make a cat grow to 7 feet tall using yet-to-be-invented mega-growth stimulating food additive or some futuristic radioactive treatment, who do you think would win the fight? Just imagine the scenes or mass carnage! On the one hand you've got the sheer raw power that Kane has but on the other, the cat's got claws! Also in Kane's favour is the fact that he's immune to fire or something - always an added bonus if the cat has access to a box of matches or a lighter. Man...now that's a battle I'd love to see! How about you? I live in the hope that the WWE will invest in the technology needed to make such a match possible one day. It'd make it even more exciting if it were a cage match...or even an Hell In A Cell!!! Okay, maybe the Hell In A Cell idea is a bit far fetched; you wouldn't be able to get a 7 foot cat through the door of the cell. Anyway, I reckon Kane would win - after all, he'd be in the environment he's used to. If he tried using his finishing move though he'd be in for a shock - the cat would no doubt land on its feet! I would love to hear your opinions on this matter.
What does one say to something like this? Let's hear it for the lunatic fringe! Yay.

How's it going. Very cool site. I just want to say that the I think that the WWE is showing HHH as an invincible man. By this I mean that HHH barely loses any matches. He got hit by a sledgehammer the other night on RAW but he was back that next week fighting with Kevin Nash as if nothing ever happened. Don't get me wrong, I know HHH is a great wrestler it's just that right now he's had the title for so long and all of his storylines are wane. That's not event the sad part, I heard rumors on the web that HHH would rather drop his title to Kevin Nash because they are good friends. How do you feel about this?
Triple H might want to drop his title to Nash, but he doesn't control everything. He's also got good ideas for storylines and through experience he would know the kind of stuff that makes maximum impact on the fans. He's not perfect - he's held the title for too damn long no question - but he's also not a complete asshole who will only agree to drop the title to a friend. That's the kind of crap you pull in highschool, not in the workplace.

Is Stephanie McMahon taking steriods or something because I mean MY GOD she is freakin' huge now. Like her arms are gorilla sized. She looks so nasty. I think it might be from hanging out with HHH too much what do you think? I love this site and I've been coming here since like 1998, seriously I kid you not.
I'm not sure what's up with Stephanie. She's a big girl to begin with. I noticed that in WWE promotional stuff she says she's 5'7". I find that very hard to believe, especially when you see her standing next to Vince who is around 6'2" and Triple H who is 6'4". She's probably around 5'10" in which case she's never going to be a tiny little thing like Terri or Trish who are around 5'3". The changes to her voice are somewhat disturbing though. She has a much deeper voice now which is good on the one hand because it's much less annoying. However, it's a lot weirder now it's deeper. Still, maybe Triple H likes deep voices in women. Whatever, I guess.

Hey rajah and staff your website is awesome. I just recently started going to this site so these questions might have already been answered. 1. The womens title in my opinion is a joke and i think they should get rid of it. Every PPV that they have they waste 20 perfectly good minutes on having one of thoses matches. 2.Will the WWE ever bring back Scott Hall? 3. When wreslters bleed do they use blood capsules or do they cut there foreheads? 4. Would you think that the wwe would ever bring the ecw title back or have a special ecw segment every Raw? In my opinion that would be savage. I know i had alot of questions but Id really want these questions answered.
1. The WWE have "retired" the women's title a couple of times in the past, but it keeps making its way back. There's no point in having female wrestlers without giving them a title to fight over. If you don't, they may as well be mud wrestling. And yeah, you might think that would be nice, but this is supposed to be wrestling, not half naked women playing in mud.
2. Never say never, but it's unlikely. Scott Hall has been given numerous opportunities, but has blown each and every one of them.
3. Mostly they "cut their foreheads" which we affectionately refer to as "blading". However blood capsules are used when someone wants to "bleed" from the mouth or the nose which is more and more infrequent these days. Foreheads are a great place to blade (did I really just say that?) because they rarely scar and provide a lot of blood for what is a very superficial wound.
4. No, the WWE aren't interested in reminding everyone of ECW. That's over and done. However they might use little reterospective clips to remind fans of past events that could possibly impact on current storyline stuff. Ditto with old WCW stuff. It's worth mentioning that the WWE will probably release at least certain selections from their ECW and WCW libraries at some point.
