-- New AEW World champion CM Punk has apparently suffered a "serious injury", as reported by Dave Meltzer of f4wonline.com. The injury occurred during his All Out match believed to be when he landed a top onto Jon Moxley. There were reports that Punk injured his triceps as he was seen applying ice to the area during his post-match press conference.
-- The timing of the serious injury comes at a time when Punk is facing significant repercussions for his part in a backstage scuffle after All Out that got physical and resulted in injuries to others. It is believed that Punk is facing a suspension at the least and possibly could be released altogether, pending an ongoing investigation. The f4wonline report suggests that no matter what discipline is slapped on Punk, the title situation is expected to be addressed tonight. Punk is not at Dynamite and instead still in Chicago where he is expected to meet virtually with Tony Khan again. If ends up remaining with the company, the initial prognosis is that Punk will require surgery and be gone for several weeks, if not months.
