One half of the Lucha Bros tag team - Penta - debuted for WWE earlier this year and while it appeared that the other half - Rey Fenix - wouldn't be able to escape his AEW contract until later in 2025, Fenix was given his release and set to make his WWE debut tonight on Smackdown.
Ahead of his first appearance Penta spoke to WWE Deutschland and had the following to say about his brother and his dreams of facing him somewhere down the line in a mask vs. mask match. While WWE will inevitably have the two align or feud at some point, the Luchadores are currently fixed on opposite brands.
"Yeah, man. Finally. It’s very simple - the best wrestler in the world comes for the best company in the world, man. This is my brother."
"This is my dream match: Penta vs. Fenix mask vs. mask. I don’t know when, maybe only in my mind happens that. But maybe in 10 years, maybe it’s possible, I don’t know."
