Rhea Ripley Boasts 'Shutting Up' Crowd In Puerto Rico: "I Don't Care About These People"

"Mami" doesn't care about the WWE Universe in Puerto Rico.

Or their hometown hero Zelina Vega.

These are the post-match sentiments shared by Rhea Ripley after making the first premium live event defense of her SmackDown Women's Championship by defeating the LWO member at WWE Backlash 2023.

Ripley scored a pin fall victory over Vega in a match that featured a very enthusiastic and loud crowd that was completely behind the hometown LWO member and afterwards, spoke with Megan Morant for a backstage interview.

During the WWE.com exclusive post-match interview backstage at Backlash 2023 on Saturday night in San Juan, Puerto Rico, The Judgment Day member made it clear that she didn't care about the fans not being on her side, and unanimously supporting her opposition from the LWO.

"I don’t really care if the crowd was strongly behind Zelina," Ripley told Morant after the match. "I don’t care about these people. They don’t mean anything to me, just like Zelina doesn’t. But carry on with your stupid little question, Megan."

Morant then went on to ask Ripley how it felt getting her hand raised in her first defense of the SmackDown Women's Championship that she originally captured with a memorable victory over Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 39, which followed an equally memorable performance in winning the 2023 Women's Royal Rumble match.

"I mean, you could’ve just asked that question instead of all the other stuff that came with it," Ripley told Morant with a sneer. "But you know what? It actually felt amazing. It felt amazing because they were behind Zelina Vega so much, and I shut them all up for good when 'Mami' walked out the SmackDown Women’s Champion still, and Zelina Vega was left in the ring like a little pretzel."

She concluded, "So yeah, you could say I’m pretty ecstatic. That’s all you’re going to get from me. Goodbye."
